Hotel Monotel

Most of the staff at the reception was rude. And beware, if you are traveling with your partner, they might randomly come up with rules that unmarried couples are not allowed. What kind of rule is this. So you will be surprised in a bad way.

The facilities and the breakfast

There was a faint bad smell in the room and room keys were defective

I found low grade employees were good.Even the room cleaner was good. Door mechanic was also good.

The property doesn’t have moral ethics. I informed them that I will check out 2pm due to match with my flight but they changed 2000 INR for this extra time. But my Son was locked in to Toilet from 12pm to 1 pm due to broken lock issue and was crying inside the wash room. He got afraid and still in to fever. I informed the fact to counter but didn’t listen. They changed additional amount accordingly.Although I noticed broken lock issue just 5th June morning and informed. They engaged someone to fixit it but it was not changed or done properly. For this reason it was again broken from inside when my kid was taking bath. It gave me much pain. I didn’t spend much word when they refused to consider extra money.

Sayan Housekeeping staff was very polite and well spoken, service on time.Amit the luggage boy was very decent and smiling whenever he used to meet us.Overall stay superb, you must try their food, very delicious

The toilet faucet needs to be replaced, the water pressure was too much... Rest all okay

The linens torn and dirty. The room was stinking. When requested for a fresh blanket, used blanket was provided. The bathroom was extremely dirty, and tiles were all stained. Checked-in at 2.am (mid-night) and checked-out at 10.30am. I needed a room for a layover at kolkata. I had no other choice but to stay at the hotel since it was mid-night.I have been using booking.com for years and the site has always met my expectations. However, this time I am extremely disappointed. The pictures shared on the website were different from actual.

Very comfortable room, excellent food, friendly staff. Convenient location, close to the airport and swasthya bhavan where I had work.

Wifi was erratic and I had to use my phone hotspot most of the time. Room cleanliness could be improved.

The Rooms are spacious but old and cant be compared with other International hotels of same class, The mattress was bad and gave me a severe back ache but I was forced to extnd my stay since there was a shortage of premium rooms in Kolkata. Breakfast spread is also ok and nothing great but you don't have a choice as they refuse to give a package excluding Breakfast. So weather you like it or not they make you pay for the breakfast.

Nothing special, rates are like 5 star, but facilities are dump.

Absolutly everything was exceptional!! I had such horrible day when I was looking for place to stay and honestly 8 hours of trying to find some hotel was hard as 2 times I have been scammed , when I found place on booking with good price they didn’t want accept price so they wanted 2x more or what happend is address wasn’t correct so I couldn’t find . I decided to stay in Monotel and that was the best decision!!! Receptionist name Abhishek Maharana turned my horrible day into absolutely unforgettable day and stay !! Iam so thankful I met him and also made friend ! Food served as buffet was stunning ! Highly recommend this hotel !! Thank you for everything

Restaurant seems good

I booked a king room with Queen bed and was forced upon a room with twin bed. When asked, the proposal was to join the bed, which was not comfortable. The attitude of the staff was pathetic who simply said it is overbooked and cannot accommodate even though the booking was confirmed. What is the sanctity to booking then. They were arrogant than being apologetic.

The location was decent, and the hotel Cab driver was more cooperative than the hotel staff.

There was utter chaos. The bedsheet had very disgusting blood stains, and the linens were dirty. The toilet sinks, and everything was broken. The Aircon was about to catch fire. The receptionist upgraded our room because of these issues, but most of the rooms were dirty. There were chips and dirt on the sofa in the suite room. Somehow we spent the night then, on the last day; the receptionist started asking for 7k plus for that room. Id any day pay Novotel or a five-star hotel for that price. Very very unhygienic food and my father had to get medicines since he got his stomach upset after dining there. Nothing can be worse than this. So please don't go there unless you don't have a choice, lol. I took many pictures, but I deleted a few because that was very disgusting. But I ll add some pictures here.

unaware n ignorant front desk staff. also no mention of services like the swimming pool which is an essential for a customer in peak summer being out of order wasn’t even a courtesy to be updated on their website or on the partner app. when we checked in then we got to know that the pool is unavailable. so misleading in facilities that were advertised when booking. also we were wrongly charged for breakfast that was advertised as complimentary on the website and in our booking amount.

The Location is good. The food is satisfactory. Cleanliness is good.

20% discount page offered by booking.com was not honored by Monotel hotel when presented to them. It is the duty of booking.com to ensure that discount offered by them is honored at the hotel.

As I went for the Kolkata Book Fair the location was perfect for me. It took me just 5 minutes by vehicle to reach to venue of the book fair. The hotel is half and hour away by taxi from the airport. The breakfast is complimentary in the hotel and there was a very good spread of South Indian, Continental an Bengali breakfast dishes.

It was all good, I liked the hotel, it suited my budget, the location was good, the staff were polite and helpful and attended to all my needs promptly.
