Taj Bengal, Kolkata

The staff truly stood out, as is typical of Taj properties. They were consistently warm, respectful and extremely helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. Their professionalism and genuine hospitality went a long way in making our stay comfortable and pleasant.

While not one of the best hotels I have stayed in, it is certainly a good one. The newly refurbished rooms are well appointed; however, the room we stayed in was next to a busy road, which made it noisy. The staff was kind enough to offer us a replacement room, but we chose to continue with the same one as it felt too inconvenient to shift at that point.The breakfast could be improved. As we stayed for five nights, the spread began to feel repetitive after a few days. The pillow quality could also be better, especially considering that many hotels now offer an extensive pillow menu to suit individual preferences.

Breakfast was excellent ans location is also very good. Overall, an excellent experience.

The bathroom can be more modern. Would have preferred a shower stall over a tub. But that is personal preference.

Room quality. Did not meet the Taj standard. Run down room and mouldy carpets.

Good old heritage feeling. Spa was very good. The spa specialist was competent.

Too many staff but outcome was mixed on the front desk and at gym desk.

The room was well equipped, and the staff is always very pleasant. Special mention for Nasir, the manager of Cal27.

I stayed in one of the premium rooms, but was a little surprised to note that there wasn't a bathtub. It wasn't a big deal – the bathroom has a good size. The breakfast spread could be better. I'd rate it a 7/10 but then again, breakfast isn't meant to be very heavy.

Taj Bengal is conveniently located in the central area of Kolkata. What I like about Taj Bengal is its staff. They are warm, highly professional and service oriented. The restaurants inside the hotel are of very high quality and provide diverse choice of food.

I have been visiting Taj Bengal for over two decades. What makes me return here is the warmth, attentiveness and positive attitudes of its staff. The service culture of the staff has not changed. Kolkata has many good hotels but none has as proud and dedicated staff as Taj. The location of the hotel has also been an attractive feature. The restaurants also provide an opportunity to taste variety of foods. I will return again in my next trip here.

Everything was superb. Staff were extremely kind. In particular, Sanjib Ghosh, concierge was too kind. He sent us a cake on a special occassion, and showed us around the place. We dined well and spent the evening by the pool, everything was top notch.

Everything was excellent. Luxury property with super star team members. What you will wish you will get. Sanjib Ghosh at FO, who knew that we were celebrating our third anniversary and that the room was beautifully arranged with a variety of treats. Chef Kavita chef Prasoon. Our housekeeper Arpan Roy and Kishor.

The location but most of all the staff. Especially Sanjeeb in concierge. Special shout out to him who made my stay very special, looked after me and my stay memorable

Very stylish and nicely decorated . Rooms well equipped with plenty of storage space. We lived the gym and the pool. The staff were so helpful and friendly.

So large it was a little overwhelming at first! Doors and drinks quite pricy.

We had to wait for 40minutes outside the door of our room at 11:30 pm before a Taj staff let us in
