Pros +
- Beautiful property. Very friendly staff. Rooms super clean well maintained, comfortable and well-decorated. It feels like a fairy tale throughout. Definitely recommend staying there for an immersion into cape Dutch architecture with the winery feels.
- everything from arrival, to the valet, the reception, the rooms, the facilities. it was all incredible! it was a fantastic end to our honeymoon, and an absolute highlight. Lanzarac were beyond generous with complimentary minibar, wine tasting and drinks on arrival- felt like an all inclusive experience.
- Great location, stuff, food
Cons -
- i sincerely could not fault a thing about this place. Although the overnight price was more than other hotel locations, the value for what you pay for is definitely met
- Construction, very loud, two days in a row just in front of our suite. And several employees are just walking into the garden of private space. Privacy and relaxation are not what we expected.

The staff were superb and the room was lovely
The breakfast was very slow
The staff is friendly. The attention to detail is exceptional. The facilities are clean and aesthetically pleasing. Rich with history.
I don’t think that the food at the restaurant is truly on par with the calibre of the establishment. Perhaps a variation at breakfast and better tasting meals for lunch and dinner.
If you want to stay in paradise. it is a luxury hotel, the rooms are very well decorated, first-rate service, excellent quality products, as well as wonderful wines. It is impeccable. I have nothing to say against this hotel, everything was perfect. We chose to stay at the hotel for the second time and enjoyed the visit to the winery, wine tasting and dinner with wonderful meat at the Taphuis restaurant. The breakfast is excellent with a welcome sparkling wine and also first-class service with very attentive people and delicious dishes.
Beautiful views from the hotel. Comfortable room and attentive staff. My husband was unwell and the medical support was first class. Room service and laundry both good.
Beautiful hotel in lovely quiet surroundings but only 10 mins drive from the centre of lively Stellenbosch. Lovely room with outstanding bathroom. Helpful and friendly staff, especially welcome/concierge/transport team. Lovely to have the main pool and smaller pool near the room as a quieter option. Deli always a highlight, Tiphuis restaurant less so
Breakfast and Deli are great but the other restaurant offering less so for this level of hotel, both in terms of service and food quality.
Beautiful surroundings, lovely wine and great facilities (swimming pool and gym)
The food for lunch was awful (Caesar salad and soft shelled crab burger). Staff are also very disorganised and the management of the property not effective.
Great location very peaceful Most of the staff wonderful, particularly at reception and the driver who took us into StellenboschHad the best pork belly in the restaurant I’ve ever eaten.
We ate in the restaurant and had a wonderful main course but the Eton Mess was disappointing, the chef could do with using a different recipe for meringue, this was made with macaroon , hard and tasteless. The girl who did our wine tasting was not the most friendly.Certain products in our room were not replenished such as the English breakfast tea bags … a must for my husband, fortunately I had some with me .
This is a beautiful hotel. Spacious and elegant. Spotlessly clean. Amazing staff.
No issues at all.
Old school charm…beautiful scenery. Cape dutch architecture in serene setting.
If I have to think really hard & pure constructive criticism- the bar fridge did work properly.
What a fantastic place to relax! Wonderful stay with fantastic dinner! Room was also very nice with a fantastic restroom!
Breakfast needs to be a bit improve for an hotel like this. Few choices...Quality was good but i must say i was expecting much more!
Exceptional service and fantastic customer service throughout. We loved our stay - room and bathroom were gorgeous, patio to relax in and breakfast was superb. Food / wine tasting also very good - we enjoyed the cellar tour. We enjoyed the spa and pool area too. Staff super friendly. Definitely recommend for a taste of luxury whilst in Stellenbosch (shuttle service also handy!) and look out for the owls! X
Wonderful stay, fantastic staff that allocated the same luxury room as our stay last year. Great hotel and grounds with lovely food and wine.
Loungers could be wider.
Stunning location & bedroom Pool area very private. .
The wife required a dressing table for the price we paid.
Beautiful place to stay. Real shame about the hygiene.
We booked to stay for 2 nights over new years and I got food the worst food poisoning of my life after the first night which meant I spent all New Year’s Eve in bed in the room. I didn’t get a chance to have the wine tasting or use the spa. It was our last stop on our holiday and celebration for myself and my partner which was completely ruined. We didn’t expect this at all from such a well established place, but clearly there are some hygiene issues in the kitchen.
A sublime experience ! Wonderful hotel with friendly staff, great location , fabulous food and wine
Beautiful grounds, pool area and spa! You can really relax and enjoy. We loved it! Nice you get to try the wines there and the rooms are nice and large. Huge bed which was great. Mini bar was topped up every day and we got to try a lot of their wines! Waiters and waitresses were lovely.
Staff at reception were not friendly at all in comparison to everywhere else we have stayed in SA. Not a can do attitude but more doing bare minimum. If they were nicer it would have been rated even higher but they let us down for 5 star. They were unhelpful and really didn’t feel happy to be there. Also the bedrooms are paper thin walls so you can hear every conversation in the room next to you. This is very annoying and nothing you can do about it.
Beautiful grounds .. old world charm
Rooms could have more comfortable outdoor seating.Need power points at both bedsides.Phone and Netflix had to be reset. Could have been done before we arrived. There was a free bar fridge but all the drinks were warm so wasn’t really as special as was implied.
