Pros +
- Cleanliness of the room was top-notch.Quiet room - no noises at all.
- Comfortable room and lovely setting. An easy walk to town
- Since it was VAASA Energy week, prices were crazy but otherwise ok.It is hard to evaluate quality since I dont know the baseline.Pleasant staff, super nice. Good breakfast, excellent views.
Cons -
- Checkin took too long due to a long queue & only one person at the reception.Apart from the breakfast timings, no other information was offered by the reception (for ex, other facilities at the hotel). The room was a long walk from the lift. No mini-fridge in the room.
- Restaurant is expensive
- One big drawback was the quality of ironing room - no water there, had to go all way to the hotel room toilet again.Ironing boards were sketchy too - afraid to smear my shirts. Also - iron was from last century too - no steam, also dirty underside. (Burnt)

Great nature around the hotel, spacy and renovated rooms.
No minibar or minifridge in the room
Total surprise how welcome our little dog was. She loved the new toy.
Breakfast was very goodLocation excellent, surrounded by water on three sides
Lift should be there
Location fine, the hotel was under construction and we could not access the rooms inside, only outside. This was information we received before, so we could expect that.Breakfast very nice, staff also - helpful and competent.
We ate a dinner at the hotel - don't do it. Expensive and the quality of food below expectations. Plenty of nice restaurants in Vasa, choose some of them.
Room had space enough. Location. Breakfast good
Renovation works limited some service like lifts. Limited space.
Breakfast and rooms bed
Renovation so no lifts, outside walk In snow and water
Since hotel was under renovation there was no direct connectivity from reception which give little discomfort in negative temperature. Rest all things are good. Breakfast was average.
Restaurant was closed on Sunday. To get taxi in time is slightly difficult.
Breakfast and nice staff
Hotel is under renovations. No lifts and a noisy staircase next to our room. It shouldn't be open for business especially now there is snow.
Located with good access to town and wasaline terminal and tropiclandia. Surrounded by nature and sea. I liked how the room was spacious and renovated. The hotel also informed that Tropiclandia was closed for yearly clean and answered my question about bus connection to harbor. Plenty of space to park for free in front of the hotel and also free use of bikes. Also helmet provided. The breakfast offered many many choices.
The hotel was under renovations. Not a problem as they stopped late afternoon, but it tells you that some parts of hotel still might need work. Every Scandic hotel seems to do this: they have a small "shop" in which they sell smaller versions of popular candy and other products, but charge even more than the bigger product sizes sold in proper stores. Why on earth hotels cannot sells normal size products and charge a bit extra. Has anyone tried this at Scandia? Would they perhaps sell more than trying to sell over priced drinks and candy based on the fact that there is no store nearby. It's great that there is a store for "emergencies" and that one does not have to go and look for a store, but seems to be a standard attitude in every Scandic with the pricing. There was a place and plug for a fridge in the room, but no fridge which in a hotel of otherwise good standards and service would have been nice.
The location is excellent and there's a free parking lot for the guests. The view from the dining room is amazing, indeed this place has a lot of potential. The staff is super nice and helpful. Overall, it was good but only for one night maximum.
When we arrived we were given a wrong room (we were 3 people and there were only 2 beds). The staff was very friendly and promptly changed our room with a bigger one without extra costs. However, the hotel and the room were very dusty and old (as you can see in the pic, there was a hole in the sofa bed). The dinner was ok, nothing exceptional and the service was rather slow. The breakfast was not so good, but there was quite a wide choice. The bathroom was extremely smelly and there weren't enough towels for 3 people.
That it was clean! And staff was nice.Breakfast was nice, but as in all the hotels in Finland.
By Booking ratings the hotel is a 4* hotel. It rather has all the characteristics of a 3* hotel and even in 3* hotels one has the benefits of a kettle in the room, of a bathrobe if there is a sauna (and there was a sauna) and one doesn’t have to pay for slippers! The location is ok if one wants to go to Tropiclandia with kids and spend the weekend there. The staff is nice but diversity doesn’t mean employing Black people and keeping them in the low tiers of room cleaning and table waiting - why are all the head staff in room cleaning and table waiting White?
the view of room
very busy and outdated hotel, pool expensive and very busy breakfast
Beatiful location, gift for dog
Sauna was not availabe. We were asking quite room but it was not really quite and it many people talking in coridor were disturbing dog.
A bit old fasion but good quality hotel. Clean. Breakfast was awesome. Stuff polite and cheerfull.
Sound isolation of walls is terrible. I had to woke up for feery at 6:00 i couldn’t sleep, because. I heard all sounds from everywhere. At 23:00 One Chihuahua and other dog started barking, in room at the end of my hall, in main hall was 8 ball pool match until 00:30. Every step outside door, I could hear all of it like it’s next to my wall. That was super annoying, I’m recommending to have ear blocks.
Rooms are spacious and easily fit a family of five. Breakfast is good, although very busy at least during a summer weekend.
The hotel facilities are outdated and there was a sewage smell in the bathroom during our entire stay. Beds are old and not very comfortable. Location is fine if you have a car.
The breakfast was amazing, and the rooms are a bit dated but the view from the room was nice.
Also, a basic electric kettle and tea bags should be provided for a hotel at this particular price.
Great location by the sea. About 15 minutes walk to the city center. Breakfast was better than average. The night was silent.
The room would need some updating, as it is a bit worn out—especially the bathroom. Everything is just about clean, though. Construction work is going on in the yard. Not particularly great value for the money.
