    Pros +

    • Breakfast was very good. Good to have a microwave to warm up food plus plates etc. Is nice, in the lobby area. Nice gin-tonic at the bar. Nice size of the rooms.
    • The location. The windows and comfy chair area in the restaurant.
    • Grand old lady, a style much appreciated. Needs updating and reno in most of the general areas. Beautiful breakfast/dining hall / superior breakfast fabulous selection in continental setting.

    Cons -

    • No fridge in the room. Light installed at headboard in bad position, not possible to lean against. Hotel needs renovation. Gym to be used is too costly and not in house.
    • Very, very much in need of some renovation. The carpet in the hallway had holes in it and had come loose in certain places. There were mirrors in the hallway to our room, and almost all of them were broken/cracked. The hotelroom doors closed with a bang every time someone came or went to/from their room, which woke us up late at night and early in the morning. The key to the door was an actual KEY. Could have been charming if it wasn't for the fact that it also had a bottle opener attached. The restaurant area was nice. However, the seating and tables did not belong in such a nice looking resturant. Overall, spend the extra money and stay at Elit Hotel across the road (which I have also stayed at in the past), the price difference isn’t that big and it's a much nicer hotel.
    • I enjoyed every aspect of the property itself. Hope it gets a facelift and would be really fabulous.

One of the few hotels in Sweden that has warm rooms! Loved it!

Only one thing I hated: the elvator door cannot be stopped manually (I tried to stop it using my hand when my two years old was late getting in the elevator and couldn't, it closed in on my hand); it can be hazardous to little children.

This was a very inspiring breakfast, the overpriced room should come with a great breakfast. This was not good.

Messy, dirty, poor choice of foods.

Location was excellent, very easy to reach from the highway. Late reception was the main benefit for us, as we were driving late.Breakfast was plenty to choose from, warm and cold dishes, stylish dining room, attentive waitresses very helpful, nice to start a day with smiling faces around at breakfast.

There is none to mention, everything was pure satisfaction for us.Glad we have chosen this hotel.

Beautiful historic hotel with friendly staff and great comfortable room. I loved the writing table and the sofa. My room felt like it was a suite. Breakfast was lovely and really helpful and friendly staff.

Breakfast selection was outstanding.Shower pressure was good. Great location, easy to access, and close to the pretty harbour. Staff in the reception were responsive.

No air conditioning in the room, and no fans were placed there despite high summer heat and stuffy room. (We did get fans from the reception upon request). Sleeping was difficult on the first night. There was a leak under the shower frame which flooded the bathroom floor. Parking was an additional cost, and spots were not secured despite the cost. Quite expensive overall for the state of the facilities.

Rich atmosphere, friendly staff, good sauna.

No air conditioning in rooms, might get hot.

I have reviewed this hotel before, with my family of 3, we stayed then in a Deluxe family room in the old part of the hotel, this time we stayed in a regular family room in the new part. The new part is newer in its outfitting (wooden floor instead of worn-out wall to wall carpeting, fresher wallpaper on the walls etc) but the rooms and bathrooms are also smaller and bathrooms just as basic. The beds were just as comfortable and everything else just as good. Friendly personnel, comfy beds etc.

There is no coffee-tea making capabilities in the room compared to deluxe room which is a shame. The room was also about 15% smaller. The main problem was the noise from the street which didn't let us sleep until 1am. It was a Saturday night and the tradition in these small northern towns is that youngsters drive around in their old cars (raggarbilar) and play loud music until late. So if you are going to stay in this hotel on a weekend, it is absolutely essential that you ask for a room facing the backyard - not the street!

A wonderful hotel full of the charm of wonderful times gone by. We stayed in Deluxe Family room, which was huge, had view over the harbour, quiet (double doors to the hallway!), with comfy beds, great breakfast, big size shower. Staff was very friendly and complementary coffee/tea in the entrance to the hotel 24/7. Great value for money!

The furniture, wallpaper, wall-to-wall carpeting on the floor, bathroom equipment all fairly warn out (probably from the last renovation in 70-80s). Here its a case of cup half empty/full. They added to the old-day charm of the hotel but should have really been a bit more renovated (then at a higher price no doubt). Warning: We paid for parking behind the hotel (albeit not much) but on the weekends there is plenty of free parking just in front of the hotel (by the harbor).

Really wonderful breakfast! You will be happy!Dinner was tasty as well and surprisingly quite cheap (100kr) for hotel guests ant it was really tasty. Hotel is good located and has a nice history behind. Some facilities are old and should be renovated, like showers in sauna on the top or refresh bathrooms in the rooms but it’s really worth to stay and personel is really nice, kind and helpful. We are waiting to another time to visit this hotel with pleasure!

Change showers in sauna. Fix some free parking.

It's central to Örnsköldsvik so it was very convenient to access restaurants and stores. We asked for stuff to prepare a sofa bed for sleep so we didn't need to do that when we arrived! And we got the new year sale price so it was a really great deal and we had a private sauna in our room that made our trip perfect! And the breakfast rooms was classy and beautiful. I highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel seemed like they are preferred not to meet the customer, and when they saw or met customers they were not really friendly that I felt. I felt a bit cold.

Both the breakfast and the julbord were very good.

The lighting wasn't great - bit dark and poorly positioned.

    Restaurant was nice. Amazing breakfast.

Standard of the rooms are terrible. The whole place urgently needs a renovation.

It was an overall really good experience! Sure, the hotel could use some updating and maintenance but it seems like they are working on it and you can clearly tell the quality it used to be. Staff was very friendly and attentive and especially the breakfast was amazing!! There were even plenty of vegan options which was very much appreciated

Some of the repairs seemed quite temporary, e.g. the bathroom vent fastened with duct tape
