Hotel South Beach Resort

The property offers access to a very nice and almost empty beach and has a large outdoor pool. Staff are nice and welcoming. They allowed us a late checkout. The food is good, although a bit pricey.

It is in Kigamboni, really far away from everything and the location pin on booking is at the wrong place, most likely by intention (we confronted the staff - they all knew and gave erratic responses. They play music on weekends, beware, the volume is obnoxious and no one seems to enjoy that. The rooms are very dated and are not worth the money they charge.

Nice people. Openness to local surrounding communities is a great initiave.

Great location. The resort was excellent and staff friendly

It was not easy to get service on the tables near the beach. The sun beds did not have cushions so were uncomfortable to lay on.

The staff were very friendly, there were smalls issues but everything was attended to quickly. Nice calm and peaceful place to be.

Some of the staff was unfriendly.. when you asked for something sometimes they will give you attitude or seem annoyed….Also wish the breakfast had a lot of options to choose not only eggs and bread

Everage breakfast, rooms need to improve, no sunbeds on the beach, no beachbar, no sunbeds at the pool. Maintenance of the pool is poor

My room hot water did not work.The water from the tap was redish brown,Amenites needs some repairs.I had to reconnect to the wifi every hour,while the wifi was supposed to be for a day

Less crowd

I had asked for one room on the ground floor and another on the 1st floor. I got both rooms on the 2nd floor. Bar and kitchen both close at 9.30. Prices were very very over priced.

The place requires some renovations and new touch. Looks old and some things broken down, rusty, etc

Poor room maintenance. AC wasn't properly. No internet (Wi-Fi) facility, even network from Airtel and Vodacom was weak.. Limited food options. Chicken Samosa wasn't fresh. You can imagine the limitation was mentioned about.

Cleanliness is much lower than standard. Tv is not operative.

It's the second time we came here, last time in December 2022. Great beautiful beach with clean water. The hotel has a big potential thanks to it's location. The pool is big / however would need some maintenance.Some good food when the order is respected.Very comfortable beds and large bedrooms.

If you are coming here to relax, forget it. It is opened to externals during the day, having even schools coming with more than 50 students, large groups swimming.Letting people swim in their clothes made the pool even dirtier. Very noisy with loud music from 11am all day long, we requested if they could put it a bit down but they wouldn't. We had to shout at each other if we wanted to talk.Restaurant : mind that some dishes will be spicy even if you ask for non spicy food and that they will charge you for it even if you couldn't eat it and got it returned to the kitchen. Issues were the same on our first stay but we were hoping they would have improved.Breakfast : very limited choice and all dishes empty when you arrive at 9am.At the end, check the bill as they charged us more than what was agreed on booking.comWe then had to justify ourselves with emails until the manager came to clear it out with us, proving to the reception staff that they had overcharged us.

The check in process was very pleasant.The WiFi facilities are next level with one-time use login credentials.The food at the restaurant was amazing but definitely overpriced.The hotel fronts a nice sandy beach and is located in the Kigamboni area of Dar Es Saalam. They have a large swimming pool surrounded by palm trees which makes for a relaxing stay.

It is located a little further out from the city centre which can be a good or bad thing depending on the purpose of your stay. If your stay is focused on exploring Dar Es Saalam, by day or night, the distance and navigating the city's traffic may be a turn off.The last stretch to the hotel after turning off the road can be a challenge if you are in a car that struggles for clearance. And if you are following Google maps, it will take you to the wrong entrance to the property.While fronting the beach and ocean views are their biggest selling points, the rooms themselves are located a tad away from that excellent beach thus cannot be truly ocean view rooms. The facilities are decent but there is a feeling of needing a little more love to make it a hidden gem and an excellent place to stay.The paint scheme around the various facilities is not for everyone. It is a mix of as many colours as they could gather, often in a way that dulls the shine of what a nice place it is.
