Rainbow Hotel

I will never return to this hotel or recommend it to anyone.

Dirty room full of insects including cockroaches, smelly beddings, weak furniture and everything was just wrong.

The hotel is conveniently located, and I appreciate that the staff are polite and friendly.

The hotel was below expectations. The room and bed had an unpleasant odor, which was disappointing given the price. I also saw cockroaches in the room, and mosquitoes were a major problem — I barely slept my first night and woke up feeling frustrated and exhausted. I reported these issues to management, and I sincerely hope they take action. On a positive note, the breakfast was nice on the first day, but it became repetitive as the same dishes were served every morning without any variation.

Customer service is lacking. As a guest I ordered for airport pickup and driver never came. Hotel management never took time to check and even show concern. The welcoming at reception is literally not there. Just a lady behind the reception gives you a lazy "karibu" ask you for id hands you the key and that's it you carry your own luggage find the room yourself find everything for yourself.

Very close to the ferry. The shuttle pick up from the airport for a reasonable extra cost was greatly appreciated. Nice hot showers. Butter chicken we ordered and was brought to our room was good.

Breakfast was edible but nothing great. Check your room before you commit to it. We had done rooms within our group. And I had an issue with mine. Air conditioning didn’t work. Neither did the television.

The staff was very polite. I was allowed to leave my luggage in the reception after check out.

Very uncomfortable bed (the mattress was so hard that it felt like sleeping on the floor). It is really noisy even though I was sleeping on the 6th floor. You can hear everything from the other rooms and from the streets. The tv didnt work. There were cockroaches in the toilet.

The location is easily accessible The staffs especially at the reception are hospitable

The hotel is not well maintained my room was dusty and the mattress abit old.They didn't provide bottled water in the room.I didn't find value for money in this facility

Close to the ferry station

Horrible experience. I booked this hotel based on the photos , but the reality was completely different. The room had a horrible smell, the furniture was very old and worn out, the AC was extremely noisy, and the toilet was not clean. It felt nothing like what was advertised.I checked in, went to the room, and left shortly after because I couldn’t stay in those conditions. The hotel refused even a partial refund. Very disappointing experience.Would not recommend.

We were sleeping over en route to Zanzibar. It's a 5 minute walk to the ferry sation which was perfect for us.

No communication between booking.com hotel when I was checking front desk ask me payment I told her I already pay ok second I go get breakfast guy ask me when I arrive I told him yesterday 3am he told me I have pay breakfast I told him no because booking.com included breakfast ok when I go back my room with my children keys not working no communication between staff guy asked me again when checking out how do you need pay I told again I pay already but breakfast was best one I ever eat my life just fix communication

Got there late due to flight issues, there were no towels, soap or even a bottle of water in the room.The included breakfast was crap.

Airconditioner and fan were working well. Water and electricity were available

Very poor cleaning service. Bathroom wall tiles had brown spots which could have been anything. Bathroom floor towel was not changed nor washed

We arrived in the hotel and where not greeted or looked in the eyes, Grumpy staff behind the reception. The only friendly person in the whole building was Ghama, the bell boy. We were brought to a room under Maintenace. Must say the other room was not any better. It was gross and did not dare to touch anything!! Not to mention the bathroom, overall horrible horrible, no cleaning, unfriendly staff, bad neighborhood. I really advise you never too go here!

I liked the location, central and convenient. Close to a busy area where you can access different services and entertainment

Breakfast needs to improve. Very basic and limited option. Staff although friendly lacked awareness in terms of corridor noises in the morning which caused disruptions

There were cockroaches and the staff did nothing about it. Washroom was dirty. We asked for new set of towels on our 3rd day and staff did not give it to us.

The size of the room is ok, the hotel is just dirty and restaurant was dirty too. The cloth on the table was so dirty that I could hardly eat The shower/ toilet was dirty with bad smell.Immediately you enter the hotel you get some awful smell

It's dirty, they can do more on being clean

It's so close to the ferry terminal and that is a very big plus. The wifi was good and worked. The price is also low, but then you get what you pay for. It is far from luxury, but ok. Value for money is good, but don't expect much. The breakfast was unfortunately not very good, but the workers do their best and are very kind. My experience there was good, despite the flaws.

Looking a little tired. Needs new ideas to freshen it up again. Perhaps the dining room could be a more happening place with staff with a bit more customer service buzz.

The space for the family room is good with two rooms and spacious living room

The beds are very hard, the lock on the door doesn't work so we had to push the sofa against the door. The hand washing sink in one of the bathrooms leaks so we couldn't use it. The washing machine, fridge and cooker are too old and not a good shape to be kept in the room.
