Great Wall Hotel

The room was very comfortable including the bed. Staff were very helpful. The place was clean and not too quiet but quiet enough to have a good night rest. There were alot of restaurants nearby, a few supermarkets, pharmacies etc. Transport was readily accessible

While the room was neat and tidy,cleaning under the bed seemed as if had not been done in ages and it was gross.The hotel should ensure cleaning under the bed is done from time to time.

The price for laundry was rather high. But they did do it very well.

For elderly people the stairs should have hand rails. The existing hand rail was covered with artificial creepers

The location is fantastic, near nightclubs, restaurants and supermarkets. The hotel rooms are huge, clean and tidy. The hotel staff were very keen on service, and to name a few, Alex and the Chinese manager(lady) were exceptional in their hospitality service. It is one of the best locations for vaccination, very close to the beach, and the beach was also fantastic. I was very excited, and I even extended my room booking stay.

Nothing to say as i got what I expected to get for the money I paid. There was value for the money

We needed a place to stay before our flight out of Dar. We picked Great Wall for its location; lots of restaurants nearby. First impression was not a good one. No hotel lobby to speak of. Check in was at a bar in what looked like the entrance to a shabby Chinese restaurant. Staff was disorganized, loud and couldn't find our reservations. But things improved after check in. Room was decent, bathroom was ok -- the pipes were out in the open (not visually appealing). Looked haphazard. Bed was comfy. AC was functioning. TV wasn't. Staff turned out to be friendly. Didn't have breakfast at the hotel, which cost USD 10. They give you a form and you tick the items you want. We went next door to Levant and had a great breakfast there. When we returned from dinner, the Great Wall restaurant was hopping. Food smelled good, and didn't waft into our room. Overall, better than my first impression.

Fabulous location. Good bathroom, clean with hot water. Little suite for the family to hang out in. Very comfortable and great price

It had everything we needed

The rooms were excellent! Air con worked well. Wifi was ok. The location is outstanding if you like to walk to restaurants, bars, vodacom, suermarkets, the beach etc. It can be a bit noisy on the weekends, as Samaki Samaki is right next door.

You could defintely hear the bar next door on Saturday night, but it wasn't loud enough to disturb my sleep.

The restaurant has good reviews but I didn't enjoy the food I got from there. Lots of other nearby places.

I really liked the size of the room, the wonderful AC, the beautiful bathroom the very very comfortable bed.

I arrived at 3am with no issues, great guy on the desk sorted me with cold water and ice tea and the room was fine, value for money for the area would recommend

This is a great hotel at a great location, along the main road in Oyster Bay, and within easy reach of the waterfronts to both sides. My room was large, with a comfortable big bed. There was a good working desk, very good Wifi, fresh drinking water every day. A/C was functioning well all the time. Staff were very nice and helpful. There's a huge restaurant on the ground floor. Across the street there's a supermarket, there's many restaurants (try the great fish restaurant Samaki Samaki, but also the restaurant across from it has fresh grilled fish) and shops around, and an ATM, money exchange and pharmacy right next door. If you need a tuc-tuc or motorcycle taxi, they are all around. Big parking place on the hotel grounds too.

Everything was great. Just sometimes there was no one at the Reception, so you had to wait a bit - though never long -, which was fine if you're not in a hurry. The water for the shower could have been hotter (the water at the wash sink was nice and hot, so it must just be the routing to the shower somehow).
