ANEW Hotel Ocean Reef Zinkwazi

The beach was very good.

The unit has a musty smell. Food options are limited in the area if you are not self cateringExtremely slow service at the hotel restuarant. Unit with ocean view had very limited ocean view.

The property was well kept, rooms were clean and comfortable! The views from the apartment was excellent.

The breakfast was great, although the croissants might have dried out. I believe they could have been fresher and softer had they been covered.

The fact that items like bread, scones, cupcakes, muffins, croissants etc were left uncovered and exposed to chilly environment therefore making them a bit hard.

Our stay was comfortable, and the staff were helpful.

Restaurant:- Long wait times for everything, including drinks.- Disappointing service.Day Spa:- Booked massages for 4, but only 3 were accommodated.- Poor communication - our details weren't taken down, and we were expected to be on time without confirmation.- During the wait, I opted for a manicure, but they lacked necessary tools.

The view , the cleanliness , the convenience of having a kitchen with all cutlery and utensils. Very family friendly. The cleaner was available evey day to neaten up

It was a distance to the beach and difficult for the elderly to access the different floors or levels

Beautiful location, the pools, cocktails, beach access and wonderfulSelf catering unit.

I love everything about this place. Whenever my Son is at camp we always book here.

The main bedroom we were in didn't smell nice. I think the curtain material traps ordour, so the smell stays in the curtains. Please consider changing or washing the curtains.

Bad

They are using a generator 24/7 and it overheats and then there is no power for multiple times during the day.

Excellent and clean.

Noise by people partying at the pool area after 10pm cutoff.

Breakfast was great but the orange juice was terrible it tasted as if it was diluted with water terrible

The location is fantastic and the units are all very comfortable and well maintained. Units with ocean views are the best. Sitting on our veranda we got to watch a pod of dolphins swim past. The village of Zinkwazi has beautiful unspoilt beaches.

Although the food was all very well prepared and tasted great, I felt that for a four star hotel, the variety was lacking in the buffets. Definitely did not compare with other similarly rated hotels that I have stayed at.

The apartment was excellent. The view was amazing. Short distance to the beach. Kids loved both swimming pools and the beach!! Apartment was fully air-conditioned

There was no power for most of the stay. So the generator was used most of the time. The generator ran out of diesel a lot. Which means no power & no air con. Luckily they have a gas braai for cooking + a restaurant. The generator was very noisy. Restaurant was a bit expensive.

Despite me explaining my health concerns to the receptionist, she still allocated me a room where I couldn't even walk to the restaurant for dinner, the other issue is the two twin bedroom jad dump ell, I slept on the couch. II then decided to check out to find a place that will be considerate as my health My family comfort is key to me..I have to acknowledge, after raising my concerns Vanitha the manager offered to move is to the other rooms, unfortunately, by then a decision to just check out was made.

I lovd the location, serves the purpose for my vacay. The place is indeed clean. Staff is friendly and respectful.

Power tripping every now and then with NO Communication to manage expectation. It's dissappointing that the hotel does not hava functional UPS_ in SA in 2024 with all the power/ electricity and water issues we continually face. There os no excuse for not having extra/alternative water and electricity supply. I guess the worst is lack of guest communication- it felt like guesrs are taken forgranted and are expected to `keep it moving' no alert, no apology. Unacceptable▪︎

We lost all our food because of power outages. Apparently, generators gave up .No water, we never had a bath. Our guest from JHb really dispointed .Our first night smells of raw sewerage in the air so strong we could do nothing but wait for the nightmare holiday to be over .We spoke to Manger and agreed to refund us the entire stay cause of the above .It's been over a week, and they denied their said this .We are taking this up further...Media and social platforms we have videos of the leaking sewerage in the rooms and expect us to stay in shit ...Please refund our money immediately...

It was a peaceful and serene environment, with minimal crowds, which made our stay quite special.•Accommodation: Our unit was cleaned daily without fail, and it was always a pleasure to return to a spotless apartment. The cleaning staff were friendly and efficient.•View: The view from our accommodation was wonderful.

•Power Outages: Facilities running on a generator our entire stay with power trips constantly. Troubling when trying to use the appliances•Umbrellas available not in working order.•Pool areas could do with additional staff for better servicing. •Given the price point, the food offerings were disappointing and did not meet expectations.

We enjoyed the private beach access. With the main beach being crowded and people struggling to find parking, it was a joy to have beach access to an area that's not crowded.The views from the ocean view units are amazing.The units are spacious and modern. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

Best location, it is close to the beach. The accommodation was extremely clean.

There is no balcony for garden view rooms.

Quiet location away from busy beaches.

Need some attention to detail like picking up litter and removing weed between the paving bricks and gardens. Makes the walkways look untidy.
