Protea Hotel Clarens

The cleaners are always there and helpful.The hotel is close to a lot of activities

We had no water on news day and the hotel didn’t provide us with water. The waiting time at the restaurant is too long for both dinners and breakfast. The hotel should prioritise the people who have booked the hotel than day visitors for breakfast and the pool

The staff was very friendly, and the food was great. This was actually our second time visiting Clarens. Our first experience in the town wasn’t pleasant, but we later discovered that there’s a Protea Hotel. We decided that on our next visit, we would stay there because we trust the Protea standard—and it did not disappoint. We had a wonderful weekend.

It was the friendly people that made us feel welcome, along with the spacious, spotless room. The shower was large enough for two, the bed was big and comfortable, and the room included a bar fridge with plenty of cupboard space. I especially liked that the toilet was separate. The housekeeping staff were excellent and really impressed us with their attention to detail.

Beautiful location - Clarens, a small, picturesque town.Hotel, a beautiful establishment, courteous staff.

The room allocated had a very bad smell!!!

Room rate included a FANTASTIC breakfast and the location of the Hotel was perfect! Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Shower had mold all in the grout which caused me to have terrible allergic reaction and headaches. They came to clean it up once I showed them the pictures of the shower, but it was too late for me.

Easy to locate, walking distance to restaurants, room had very good Mountain views. Enjoyed the breakfast a lot. Very good chefs and very nice waiters and waitresses.

The property was clean, and the location was central to all the activities. Be it entertainment, hiking , parkrun, and all the restaurants. Everything was within walking distance.

Proximity to the town center.

Room is very compact. Toilet needs more thorough sanitization.

There was an issue with omelet. There is no mechanism to check if eggs are fresh

The dinner was very bad.

I will visit again with my family! Breakfast was delicious, room was perfectly clean. The location is the best! I will highly recommend it to friends and relatives.Dinner was very nice!

The location is great, we were able to walk to the town square at any given time without feeling like our hotel was miles away.The room was very comfortable and cozy and the staff were super friendly.

Excellent meal options at breakfast and dinner. Very friendly staff. Lovely location close to all the shops in the town of Clarens.

For ease of showering a hand held shower head as an option in the bathroom would be very handy.

The scenery was relaxing with beautiful ambiance. The staff attitude was welcoming and professionalism. Breakfast was delicious. The bed was comfortable with a neat and clean spacious rooms.

Excellent views, well furnished rooms, great bar and lobby. Friendly and helpful staff. Clarens itself is a great destination and the hotel is very centrally located, close to the main square.

Some room fittings aren't great. The lights on the central air con hub above the bed disturbed our sleep and the door to the bathroom was extremely squeaky.
