Pros +
- How clean everything was, and how friendly all the staff were.
- I found the rooms to be great, super comfortable beds, nice sized bathroom, and great showers. We did not try the food.
- I stayed here twice: before and after the Inca trek. We were in different rooms, and we had a different experience. The first room was facing the in er courtyard, so it quiet and tranquil, except one evening when mariachi woke us up - they were singing just outside our window. We were jet lagged and needed our rest, but it was spoiled. The receptionist recommended a nice restaurant - we loved it.When we were leaving for the trail, we were given a to-go breakfast. Our luggage was stored at the hotel while we were gone. Then we were given another room. The extra flight of stairs made it brutal for us - our legs were already tired after the trail… the room was bigger than the one before, but it was facing the street, so we had to keep our curtains closed at all times, and it was noisy. The hotel got us a taxi to the airport and it was punctual!Overall, a great stay.
Cons -
- When we were leaving for the Rainbow mountain early in the morning, we were not offered a to-go breakfast, and neither in the day of our departure.I wanted to get a massage, but when I contacted the spa via WhatsApp, they responded two days later, when I was already gone. The location was a bit suspicious. From one hand, it was next to a church - it’s in a monastery building, from another hand there were what looked like, homeless people, just outside. I had mixed feelings about the location. It was about 10-15 minutes walk to the center of the city.
- Nothing. All wonderful
- The room didn’t have water for tea the first night, the tv was impossible to use and the garbage was not installed correctly.

We loved the location, the helpfulness of staff, the warm cozy rooms with hot water, the incredible breakfast each morning and the coca tea
Right next door to perurail san pedro station. Excellent breakfast. Miquel was excellent help
Nothing. All wonderful
Interesting location in the heart of the city.
The room didn’t have water for tea the first night, the tv was impossible to use and the garbage was not installed correctly.
Its location and exclusivity.
The stairs. No elevator.
Room was big, shower was large, and room very clean and quiet. Location was excellent and history of monstary was very interesting.
Breakfast was great and the location is really amazing. Right next to the market and in the middle of the center! There is also a heater in the room which we appreciated. The hotel is beautiful!
There could be more (storage) space in the room, especially for toiletries. Also there is only one towel hanger for 2 people. We were at the ground floor and could hear other guests above us. This is unfortunately no exception in Cusco hotels we experienced.
Location, also quiet even though it's noisy outside by the market, staff very helpful and friendly
The shower was slippery and took time to drain. For the elders be careful!
Food was great. Grounds very clean
Front desk misplaced duffels left at check in for alpaca adventure pick up
The grounds were not and the massage therapist was incredible.
The front desk staff wasn’t very friendly and helpful. All acted like they didn’t want to be there.
Beautiful property away from the main square which was nice but also right across thestreet from the Mercado San Pedro, which was handy!
All was great!
It was quiet and the staff was generally nice, definitely liked the breakfast buffet even though it was more Americanized and not traditional to Peru. The gardens are very pretty.
Toilet size, it was short and just not comfortable for taller guests. And the shower floor was very slippery. Also the beds would move whenever you bumped into them and that was kind of annoying
Driving up to the property you can see the cathedral that is beautiful architecture. As you open the door of the cab smell of urine impacts the nostrils. The smell quickly fades as you enter the zen building full of calm and pleasant smells in this busy city. The front desk agents checks you in to get you settled and into the zen property in this busy downtown. You are given a map of the city and shown the street to downtown. The rooms were very clean and the cleaning staff were top notch. The breakfast buffet was incredible and staff worked to make it wonderful every morning.
Getting out of the cab the smell of urine penetrates the air until you enter the property. When I booked the hotel it had 5 star rating for service that made me think front desk agents were above and beyond on support, which is why I booked at the hotel. Being first time traveler to Cuzco was expecting to get some insights, but the agents’ focus was on hotel necessities specifically and nothing more. The hotel presented on cost cutting corners when my soap in the room was only filled 1/4 full and when we ran out and requested a refill and toilet paper from the front desk it was again refilled 1/4 and was not given more toilet paper. It worked, but was odd. Dinner was mixed the ceviche was amazing, but noodles of ravioli were under cooked and crunchy - most likely microwaved with varying temperatures and consistencies - it wasn’t edible. Nonetheless, I had to pay for the incorrectly prepared food and not offered a substitute. One night there was screaming in gardens (zen area in the middle of the hotel) from 7-12PM. Didn’t seem to be a security to address.
While the restaurant staff and breakfast buffet were outstanding, as well as the groundskeeping and housekeeping staff extremely friendly, the front desk needs to be retrained on the concept of hospitality. When we arrived two weeks ago, there were workers sprucing up the place for the new season. We were placed in a room quite near where the revarnishing area was and the fumes adversely affected my friend who has asthma. I worked in the hospitality business working at 5 star New York City hotels and prided myself on making sure the guests were happy and comfortable. This was not the case with the staff at the front desk. When we approached the desk about the issue of the varnish, fumes affecting the health of my friend the women at the desk automatically had an attitude, while the gentleman at the desk was initially helpful, showed us an alternate room on the 3rd floor.Which, unfortunately was also unacceptable because my friend's Asthma had already flared up and the stairs were very difficult for her. While we were in no way rude, about informing the gentleman that the second room was also not acceptable, and we would have to find other accommodations, we understood the limitations of finding us another room with two beds. Ultimately we were placed in a lovely corner room in the inner Courtyard. We're very grateful and tipped the staff well, but after settling in were treated very poorly by the front desk. I reiterate that we handled the whole situation very politely, and I was amazed at how rude everyone at the front desk, treated us moving forward. During our last encounter with the front desk, the gentleman wouldn't even make eye contact with us. And I questioned, what did we do that was so offensive to earn this type of treatment. No reply was given. It was a shame because the hotel itself was a lovely place to stay and everybody else we encountered was so nice.
How poorly we were treated by the front desk.
Great location to visit Cusco, close to the Plaza de Armes. Friendly staff. The rooms were clean and had heating which was needed while we were there. Good breakfast
Although the breakfast was good but they weren’t ready at the time breakfast was supposed to start. At times they couldn’t handle the crowd! No plates or coffee cups available.
The room was very clean, bathroom new. Quiet at night. Spa treatment was very nice.
I asked for the snack breakfast since I was leaving before breakfast--When I checked out I was told I did not order it so I had no food before I left for the airport.
The hotel looks awesome. It is located near the San Pedro market which has the best value souvenires. It is walking distance from the center of the city. The breakfast was great, with lot of options. We also ate lunch at the restaurant and the food was good. Staff was nice and helped us with transfer.
The room was cold. The heating system is not capable of heating the room properly.
I felt so relaxed staying there. I'd stay there next time I'm visiting Cusco. I was so close to San Pedro Market and also to Main square. I've been here 5 times and I can't get enough of it
at night the temperature drops
