    Pros +

    • Spacious and comfortable room.
    • The view was awesome and the room was spacious. The hotel is also very close to the sights, grocery and shops. Breakfast was great! My toddler managed to eat a lot there too.
    • Good location, clean and neat. Good breakfast buffer spread.

    Cons -

    • Rude receptionist. Extremely expensive to end up in a room with no view. I didn’t see the table with prices of the snacks and ended up paying an absurd amount for simple items, like 60 reais for a small milka bar.
    • We asked for the menu from the restaurant and were told that there was a QR code somewhere in the room for it. We weren't told where in the room so we looked everywhere and apparently it was next to the bed. It wasn't so intuitive. I would've expected it to be somewhere close to the phone or by the desk.
    • No water in the room.

Good location, clean and neat. Good breakfast buffer spread.

    No water in the room.

Good breakfast and good location with supermarket and shopping mall nearby.

The countless streets in front of the hotel make walking to the nearby beach not so pleasant/safe.

    6CarlosPosted on: 3-7-2025

The location was the best thing.

The room wasn’t properly cleaned. There was hair all over, the bed sheet was dirty and there was a used underwear on the floor. I informed the reception when I was going out and 5 hours later it wasn’t clean. They argued they had relaid the message to the housekeeping team and there was nothing they could do. I had left for dinner and it was clean when I returned.

Overall, the room was clean, and towels were changed daily.

Arrived at the hotel just after check-in and was greeted by the concierge/front desk team and by the team, I mean one person. I was surprised there was only one person working at the desk, especially when check-in times are the peak busy moments.A queue started to form behind me, and this was because the person working was possibly new and obviously overwhelmed. No one came to help them, and other patrons behind me began to get agitated. They were waiting for 15 minutes in total, and finally, a staff member strolled in and called for the next customer. Novotel needs to improve on staffing scheduling. Concierge staffing needs to improve, however, as this left a sour taste on my experience.

The hotel was located in a good spot in Rio. The staff were friendly and helpful. You're opposite a quiet beach and you have lots of local amenities around you. Used the laundry service which was pretty quick and a great customer service.

The bathroom setup was a little unusual as there was no shower door but one for the toilet. Still, the layout was managable and everything was clean.

In general all ok, except the bathroom that was with no soap. Asked to put more but they forgot.

    The location

Throughout the entire week, wi-fi didn’t work in the room. I had to spend most of the time working from the lobby.

    6NaomiPosted on: 1-11-2025

The property was nice and clean

Nothing but the staff wasn’t helpful and the service was slow

Great location, good breakfast, and clean rooms.

    (1) WiFi was patchy (2) Floor tiles near entrance and in front of bathroom is coming loose. Overdue for replacement (3) Tiny bad side boards - no space (4) It seems that the windows have not been cleaned from the outside for a long time. Dirty. (5) Why is only one glass supplied in the bathroom for twin occupied room? (7) Room telephone has no labels. How to call? (8) No one responds to #9 on telephone after 11 pm when we checked in. I went to the reception and was told by the receptionist that only he and the watchman were available and no assistance was possible. Many staff speak rudimentary English. Not good for a business hotel charging R 3,000 per night (9) Evening service in dining room between 9.30 and 11 pm was very slow. Staff were surly and food quality was average.

Hotel amenities, room, and location were amazing! I would book this location again. The rooms were very nice, A/C was great and the size of the shower was perfection.

We ordered room service and found the food to be underwhelming, the club sandwhich and the ham and cheese omelette were, in our opinion, not very well executed.

    4HugoPosted on: 1-4-2025

    Not much honestly

Subpar service (wifi is slow and doesn’t reach some rooms in the hotel; 3 days to get something done; self-service for most basic service)

    4NunoPosted on: 11-11-2024

Right in front of the beach, next to a supermarket and mall

Despiste not being cheap, my room view was directly facing the neighbour building wall. So close I could almost touch it.When asking for a room change I was told ALL rooms are like that.Worst experience than in a prison cell as in these at least one can see the sky.Just look at the pictures get a sense of what awaits you.I’m writing this review so you don’t have to.You’ve been warned.

    Lovely place but overpriced

Room was nice but fairly basic. The jacuzzi and steam room were free to use but no point using because neither got to a nice temerpature. Jacuzzi stayed cold even after being on ‘hot’ for an hour.

Thye food was good, staff was kind, and I liked the common areas.

The facilities were often unaccessible. The rooms are dark and tiny, the time spent in the room is less enjoyable thi way. In that sense, the room size does not meet the standards of the price.... as it is not a cheap hotel! Also, the opening hours for facilities and breakfast/restaurant were too limiting for such a price.

had an amazing view from my room of sugar loaf, the area was fairly centric, Uber was around $6.50 -$8.00 to Copacabana beach and most other areas. breakfast was pretty good, and the front desk team was friendly and helpful, and they spoke English quite well. the facilities have a Spa and a Gym. I didn’t get around to use them but they did look very clean.

I thought it had a pool but it didn’t (though not their fault I realize ) . the bar staff didn’t know how to make a simple cocktail without calling someone. (didn’t even know how to make a margarita, cuba libre or their menu items like a Moscow mule…) there were little bathroom flys in the shower which was kinda gross to me. but apparently its normal in all of Rio. some of the linens they used for my bed were pretty beat up, they had little holes in them, mind you they did look clean.

    Location was great.

I was expecting more from a hotel like that. We stayed there for work, and the internet connection was extremely slow and kept dropping at the time. Body soap body was empty when we arrived, which is a sign of lack of quality control. All power outlets are 220V, which is not a standard in Rio de Janeiro.

    8AlinePosted on: 3-11-2024

Location is fantastic and staff is extremely friendly. The wi-fi was inconsistent and weak. Lastly, the preferred taxi company recommended by the property staff overcharged the ride to the airport. The last coment was not directly related to the property, but relevant, given it was their recommendation. All in all, we were satisfied and would stay again at this property.

    See comments above.

    7SamanthaPosted on: 2-18-2024

This as located very close to both airports. The location made it really easy to get around Rio even during a busy time period. Honestly for the cost and location it is a good deal.

Our room when we entered smelled a little like there had been standing water which was not great. Overall the service was great- but at time the front desk wasn't as kind or helpful when asking for recommendations or assistance with things.
