Pros +
- Nice location in fun neighborhood in Leblon close to lots of restaurants & shops & 2 blocks from the beach. Friendly and helpful staff. Large modern and clean room. Decent breakfast with staff constantly refilling. Even room with no windows was fine.
- Hotel is located in Leblon (2 blocks from beach - easy walk). Good neighborhood with lots of restaurants and cool people. Rio locals told me that Leblon is a much nicer place to stay than Copacabana (which is very crowded). Free breakfast = A+
- Great location, right beside many restaurants and bars of Leblon. Room/Hotel needs a renovation. Breakfast is good, staff is helpful and kind.
Cons -
- - Only one power outlet to charge iPhone - Nice room, but comparatively small size - Weird elevator, outer door opens out, but inner door slides - Dark corridors, but get lit up by motion sensors - No switch near bed to turn off room light.
- Price didn't match expectations. It feels the lack of concurrency is not doing good to the hotel. Room had clear signs of use and mattress was not comfortable.
- For some reason, the lobby of the hotel was always smelly.

The location was perfect, Leblon is a beautiful area and pretty safe for Rio's standards. The bed was comfortable and the Breakfast was amazing.
For some reason, the lobby of the hotel was always smelly.
Great location
Service is poor, staff does not care. From my room I could listen the conversations of the room next door. I don’t recommend
Location
Smell inside the room not adequate for the hotelAlso floors were dirty
Very well located, nice breakfast
Pictures looked better, small room, wifi didn’t work for four days. Too expensive for what it was
Location is good and safe, staff friendly. Breakfast is good as well, could offer a bit more variety though
Noise of vibrating and rattling air-conditioning units, which can keep you from sleeping.Shower had a leak, thus floor in the bathroom was wet after each showe
Great location, clean room.
Really slow WiFi
Excellent stay in Leblon. The hotel very well located. It's decor is more modern than most in that area and it offers a very good breakfast. Attentive and kind staff.
The qualilty of the towels and of the bathroom amenities was not what one would've expected considering the cost of the stay. Overall, the cost-benefit equation seemed a bit lopsided.
location is very good - nice boutique hotel in Leblon - nice atmosphere in the hotel - a number of good restaurants around the corner -
did not get the room I booked - staff was first pointing to Booking - in the end the staff showed ownership of the problem - however no solution was available fitness room is missing towels and lacks good water drinking facility - not very difficult to offer...
The housekeeping took pictures of our credit cards and IDs when we weren’t in the room and made fraudulent charges on it while we were at the beach.
The location in Leblon is very good. The hotel its self has a huge potential, But definitely untapped.
This was the third hotel we stayed in Rio de Janeiro. It was easy to compare, we stayed before in two other hotels and we did see a huge difference. The staff of the hotel was in my opinion very demotivated, I believe they are not lead by a strong management team that give clear vision. They were all operating in autopilot mode. You could see that they were not happy to work, none would be genuine friendly, none would give you this feeling of welcoming behavior that you should have naturally in hospitality. We never even had a chit chat with none at all. It was very standard the entire stay. Not memorable at all.The room was located in a floor called silent floor but it was absolutely not silent, some sort of engine located outside the fake window would be running all night. Also the housekeeper would start moving around the floor around 7:45 you could ear that she would love around and make sound near our room where the housekeeper storage was.The breakfast was again not welcoming. No cutlery place on the guest table, we had to do several trip, to get the cutlery, to get our coffee, to get the food. None offered the service of omelette, and overall the breakfast was not displayed nicely. It was also sooo cold in the room.We paid quite a lot for a night rate, so this would be ok, if the room was cheap, but the room rate was the same of another hotel we stayed at ipanema, and there we had a very high end experience. The elevator was such a pain, and the advertising inside was even more painful to look at. So cheap.
Breakfast
Working in the hospitality field myself was a bit disappointing. It was my partner’s birthday, and I let them know in advance. That was never acknowledged, I even request for a little birthday note in the room. Not done. They only had one towel available at the front desk, and we were told it would take 15 minutes and front desk person didn’t apologize or anything it was like “whatever”.Later on, I tried to use the blow dryer, and don’t ask me how there was PIECES OF GLASSES coming out the blow dryer. Luckily I was pointing to the floor and it didn’t hit me but I was like what the he**? Went down to try to talk to a manager, he/she was in lunch break. Front desk lady assisted us sending housekeeping and maintenance person to check the blow dryer. He was just joking and saying they could not have it fixed that day, or maybe next day (our check out day).I showed housekeeping the bidet was really dirty if that could be cleaned and she refused saying that would have to be with the housekeeping in the morning. All of that and no manager or anyone to address or talk to us. I mean.. from all of that the blow dryer situation we are talking lawsuit if I had gotten injured. Our check out day I requested a late check out with the front desk and that was accommodated due everything that transpired but still I was the one that had to ask.For a hotel that price it was kinda of a big deal facing these issues. We just decided to be cool not to ruin our trip cause we booked in a rush and we thought it was Ritz Carlton.. we decided to keep the reservation cause by the pics hotel still looked decent. But I definitely wouldn’t come back! Fasano or Copacabana Palace next time for sure
Fantastic location! Two blocks from the beach and just around the corner from all the restaurants. Rooms with a balcony have a nice view of the neighborhood.
The pool was indoor.
The ritz is well located and clean, the breakfast was great.
A lot of the hotel including the rooms is quite dated, not quite the standard or experience I’d expect considering the price.
Location is great, in the heart of Leblon, close to the beach, to the metro and great restaurants. The room with balcony is worth the money IF YOU MANAGE TO GET 7TH FLOOR OR HIGHER, otherwise your view is really nothing special.
For a (in theory) luxury hotel, it was nothing special. The food was not great, staff were mostly in a bad mood, the gym doesn't have a lot of machines (+ machines are old) and even if the room is very good, the bathroom is very old. For the price I was paying, I really expected an excellent hotel. And it's not only very expensive but they charge for anything inside the room (8 reais for a 300ml bottle of water? 8 reais for a coffee capsule?). I understand the price hikes at NYE time but this one was a bit absurd. It doesn't surprise me that you had only foreign guests.
Location in a safe area close to the beach, good breakfast and nice room
Amazing location. Hotel was somewhat expensive but that’s because we were there for reveillon. Would recommend skillet based on location
Staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Location is excellent - heart of Leblon with everything one could want in the neighborhood nearby. Breakfast is fresh, with diverse options. Fantastic view from our eighth floor room of the mountainside nearby. We appreciated that they provided a plug converter for free, and the cleaners were quite flexible as to when to clean the room.
Was on the pricey side, though admittedly we stayed over New Year's Eve and day so it was a peak time, and other options we looked at in Ipanema or Copacabana were even more expensive. Pool is small and covered by a translucent roof, so not really outside, which was a bit disappointing. But these are very minor issues: overall, we had a great stay and will certainly stay there again next time we are in the area.
