The maids took 3 items from my room, pool was very small (only fits about 4-5 people)

Definitely need to clean more the elevators, corridors, and the rooms.

The roof pool and area was a great surprise! and very welcome in the heat? and even though the hotel is in the middle of a really busy area , our room was at the back of the building and we weren't disturbed by any noise and slept well. It's an old building with thin walls between rooms so just be aware..It didn't cause us any problems at all though. The bathroom could do with a revamp, as it is dated, but was perfectly adequate for our stay. Plenty of hot water.We found the breakfast fine. Plenty of everything and replenished very quickly by the staff ? and a proper toaster for me☺️☺️! We found the staff to be pleasant and courteous.

- during the weekend the surrounding streets are one massive outdoor party, is stays NOISY the whole night (Friday through Sunday!) and you can everything inside your room -> make sure to request a room that does NOT face the street!- the AC does work but it is super noisy (I used the noise from the AC to drown out the noise from the street)

I liked the cleanliness of the hotel considering the area that it's located in, so busy and smelly but was required to be within walking distance of the carnaval venue. Pool was nice on a hot day and the daily breakfast options were great. Plenty of restaurants near by, could walk to see much with caution of course.

The keycard for the door would just stop working daily, and we'd have to get it reset at the front desk.

Provided a comfortable bed and satisfactory bathroom. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Good breakfast and also able eat in restaurant in the evening where there was reasonable choice. Rooftop pool and seating were useful after being out visiting attractions in Rio.

Room was cramped. Not really 20sqm even including the internal L-shaped corridor from door to bed area. No bedside table on one side of bed. Had to store suitcases (medium sized) in the rooms internal L-shaped corridor.

Very loud during the night, especially on weekends since it is downtown area.

I was scammed on the laundry.They didn’t have pricing information and ended up charging 150 USD for a regular bag of clothes. The manager refused to talk to me on arrival. The WiFi is on and off and can not be relied upon

Tried 2 times to get food from the restaurant they said was open during our stay but both times it was shut and when trying to order room service they just hung up

The hotel is located not in the most prosperous part of the city but there's everything in the near vicinity: bus stops, restaurants, shops, etc. I felt safe. The receptionists speak English (not common in Brazil)The room had a 230v socket which was very handy for me.

The window of the first room I got faced the street and it was very noisy on Saturday and Sunday. The window was old and wasn't soundproof at all. I complained and was offered a different room. The second room was far more quiet but it was craving for renovation so wasn't more comfortable. Although it was clean, the facilities were so old that it seemed less clean than it actually was. The A/C was old, weak and noisy. The fridge was noisy.There's no espresso for breakfast, The breakfast venue was small and got overcrowded after 7am. I found a piece of hair in the food. The Laundry service is ridiculously expensive (x2.5 to clean a t-shirt compared with a 4 star hotel I moved after) and not every laundry slip in the rooms contain prices. I had to ask for the prices at the reception.I was happy when I finally checked out.

the hotel is situated in Lapa which is famous for bars and entertainment. My room was quiet on the 6th floor. There was a small pool and a seating area on the roof . Breakfast was ok. bathroom had hot water.

The lift kept getting stuck which I reported daily. The AC was so extremely loud that I couldn’t use it at night

The room 502 which I was staying was facing the streets and it was very noisy even in the middle of the night. No changing of my room was being entertained upon my request. My dinner was terribe. The bread was overbaked and the beef burger was raw. The bad smell in the streets even could ne smelled inside the restaurant on the first floor.

The welcoming staff was excellent! My wife was slightly disabled and staff quickly grabbed suitcases and moved them where needed. The facilities may be dated, but the friendly, helpful staff made up for it. The bed was comfortable and a good size. It was good to have two wastebaskets. A nearby bar/restaurant had authentic feijoado and we walked to the Lapa arches, the Selaron steps and Catedral Metropolitana de São Sebastião! At breakfast, though the eggs were like little pebbles, there were plenty of choices for savory and sweet tastes.

The bathroom was nicely updated, but the bedroom could use updating. In fact, the hotel itself could use updating.Only the breakfast staff was not welcoming. There were no smiles on faces or greetings like we've had at other hotels.

Location is awesome, Saturdays can be light due to the weekend movida but also cool because out of the fire you have the Rio nightlife.Breakfast is awesome.

Room was really small, old and dirty. Air conditioning was really old and loud. There was a hole in the wall direct to the outside. Noise from the street was horrible, bring earblugs. There was bedbugs in my friend’s room floor 6.

The location of this property was very nice.

Some of the staff at the reception desk were really aggressive and didn't want to let me bring my own aunt into the hotel restaurant. The bathroom and bed of the hotel room had many bugs, we felt grossed out.

First of all, clarify that the staff and the services are good, but I cannot let this fraudulent practice at the time of payment.

I made my reservation online and they denied me the receipt of payment, and the reason is that the establishment uses a 12% HIGHER currency rate than the official one. Therefore, unless you pay with local card or cash you will be paying an additional 12%.I claimed it and they said it was for "taxes" which is a lie because the 5% tax was already included in the final price. If you go, reclaim the receipt and check with your card what they are charging.
