    Pros +

    • Walking distance to the Sambodrome for Carnival.
    • Close to Pedro do Sal
    • Price is good

    Cons -

    • Very dodgy neighbourhood, lots of homeless vagrants about. It smells like human waste on every street in the neighbourhood, sadly. The room had very low lighting. We had a sauna and jacuzzi in the room but we weren’t allowed to use it which we found very strange and it made the atmosphere uncomfortable in the room, as it took up lots of space. The staff didn’t speak English which is understandable, but they didn’t try at all to communicate with us.
    • My room has no AC, quite hot inside my room
    • Inside the favela, be careful

    Nada, horrible y caro

Habitaciones horribles, camas incómodas, sin espacios comunes

The hotel itself is good, very stylish from the époque, the room is spacious and well equipped

The hotel itself doesn’t have any serious drawback but the surrounding is very unpleasant. Also, there is big noice from the street.

Breakfast was good and the overall staff was supportive.

The check-in timing is odd, need to drag 2 hrs. before. The room is just ok compare to cost we paid. English communication is required which was missing
