Intercity Porto Alegre Cidade Baixa

The locations is very convenient once it´s right at Cidade Baixa, full of bars, restaurants and easy to walk around the neighborhood. The hotel itself is comfortable with good rooms and enough inner space. Breakfast also is a positive point as it has a big choice of options and a nice view to the city. Also the room service was impeccable and very attentive.

Nothing I liked about the hotel. The hotel is located in unsafe neighborhood.

Cleanness is very poor. Smell is very badStuff is rude. Doesn’t speak English or any other language than PortuguesePoor breakfast options. Restaurant staff are unwelcoming. Toilet bottles are empty since check in and never refilled with soap. Electricity shuts down for nearly half an hour without any explanation that made kids very scary. Check it took almost an hour. When we went to the room, we found that there is an issue with the opening card. We gone back to front desk 5 times asking them to sort the issue. It was sorted out till we had to give them hard time.

I can’t really say i liked anything about the property

Bugs all in our room as we entered, breakfast was watered down eggs and a bunch of stale bread.

I liked the room, comfortable, the check-in was easy and clean, the restaurant great food, good breakfast, also the attendance was great.

The glasses on the frigobar were pretty dirty, either way, I drank the water from the can which was very much cleaner.

Location is perfect if you want to stay close to downtown or Cidade Baixa's nightlife.

Breakfast area is really crowded and hot (roof top) and there could be more options in the menu.

However, there were some facilities issues, some of the elevator buttons were not working properly and my card was getting constantly demagnetised

The hotel is in a good location next to restaurants, bars and the park.Our room was rather small; smaller than the 20 square meters stated at booking,The room was renovated not a long time ago. However, it was furnished rather cheaply (as it can be seen at the photos).Good soundproof.Fast elevators.Comfortable bed but but cheap bedclothes.Good shower in an otherwise cramped bathroom. The room was very clean.

Breakfast was disappointing (only artificial juices, only one kind of cheese and ham, only two kinds of fruits, coffee from hotplates...).Small room, cheaply furnished.

breakfast very good. best feature of hotel, besides friendly staff, was beautiful airy dining room on top floor. Great place to eat or hang out.

Price and location

TV channels didn't work properly and staff didn't know what to do

Hotel is clean and staff is responsive. Easy to get to most of the good restaurants and the park by foot. The price is very reasonable ($25 a head for 3 of us to stay in a room with a King and a Twin bed).

Do not recommend staying on the 18th floor, and if they put you there, ask to be moved. The breakfast and gym facility are on the floor above and you will hear every single sound. Otherwise, great.

location is good (near plenty of attractions), beds are comfortable, and the breakfast is full of options.

The hotel is big, with a lot of rooms. The hotel has just three elevators, being one of them for the staff services. The restaurant is on the 19th floor, so the elevators are of great importance. I was in the 6th floor and every time I had to go to the restaurant or to the first floor I had to wait too long.

Smelly room and sad breakfast

The overall hotel seemed to be understaffed, leading to waiting times during check in and check out. Upon entering the room we've encountered a very unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. The circulation vents seem to not work appropriately. The drain from which the bad smell was coming from was covered with a bin but couldn't help it. The smell spread across the whole room, when trying to open the windows to get it out, they got stuck and couldn't be closed. Inside of the bathroom and in front of it you can see water damage in the walls, probably due to unavailable air circulation.The cleanliness was very disappointing. The curtains, walls and appliances had marks and stains. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable but okay. The sheets were ill fitting and kept getting lose.The breakfast room was overcrowded, the tables uncomfortably near to each other. People kept passing by and accidentally bumping into your seat. The selection didn't look bad at first but proved disappointing quickly. The mini muffins and cakes were hard and dry, the fried eggs served on a non heated plate of course had gone cold, there was little fruit or jam selection and no Joghurt available. The water seemed to be tap water and smelled of chlorine. A positive remark is that there was plenty of staff in the breakfast room, cleaning plates and refilling the buffet in no time. Overall this was a disappointing stay and was far from what the pictures online had promised.

The overall cost was low for a 4 star hotel, apparently you get what you pay for. Breakfast was surprisingly good.

Front desk gal was not very nice, the guys were good. The place is dated/old, really needs some refurb. Not in the best neighborhood, could not walk from the hotel at all, had to Uber any and everywhere.
