Pros +
- Excellent location near Florida Calle and walking distance to everything downtown. Close to port as well. Could hear other guests and small elevators but a good experience. Front desk staff not flexible.
- Was available last minute at a reasonable cost. Rooftop pool, though it closes early.
- Very convenient, beautiful building
Cons -
- We reserved a King and sofa bed, but upon arrival, they said no such room exists and be were upcharged $33 for a bigger room.
- Location not terrible, but also not good - not much to do. Far from good entertainment /dining options. Dull area. Pool got a little murky; rooftop, tiny gym- no weights- all close 8pm. No sound proofing as listed - noisy. Some staff less than friendly.
- A bit noisy between floors because it's an old building

There was a grocery store a 3 minute walk away. Staff was very nice. Good size refrigerator in room. Comfortable bed.
There was a small area with a microwave, 2 burners, a sink, and refrigerator but no cooking utensils at all. Had i been staying longer i would have wanted to prepare some meals but not been able to.
Las habitaciones-----------------The rooms
Deje algo de mucho valor en la habitacion, se perdio y no se hicieron cargo-------------I left something very valuable in the room, it got lost and they didn't take responsibility.
Breakfast and accomodations were fine. The staff was always helpful and efficient.
My only complaint is that it was loud. The street had construction in middle of night and the neighbor occupants were very loud. I would suggest when you are ready to invest you would consider double pane glass.
Really suitable for a one night stay only dislike was no facilities to make tea or coffee or open a wine bottle which was disappointing
Good location comfortable.
The room we had was an executive suite, which had a small but useable kitchen. Unfortunately there were no cutlery or any other utensils to use so even making a coffee was difficult. Don’t see why basic equipment cups plates knives forks spoons wouldn’t be supplied.
Great location Rooms are large and spaciousOur room overlooked a church which was nice, especially hearing the church bells ringing.Bathroom a bit dated and could do with a bit of a refurb but it was cleanSmall but lovely and welcomed swimming pool and outside terrace, especially as the weather was really hot and humid during our stay
Breakfast was adequate but a limited selectionEzekiel was excellent but generally staff were not overly welcoming There were cups in the room but no utensils - we had to request these from the restaurant
Not the fanciest of hotels, everything is a little bit old and worn. But it's clean and spacious and comfortable and quiet with good location and easy to walk everywhere. We were attending an event and asked if we could borrow an iron from housekeeping, which they did not have. Found that a bit strange as normally even the smallest of hotels has an iron. But apparently in buenos aires laundry shops are popular, cheap and fast, according to the staff, who were very friendly. The liquid soap in the shower was watered down. (The kind where large bottles are bolted in the wall.). We didn't try the breakfast, sauna or gym but all were available.
Very good location. Friendly staff and goid breakfast
Nothing really
Location is good for walking to restaurants and some shops.
Hotel is old, plumbing is poor, noisy between rooms for preteip stay (better less noisy room at post trip stay), no soap (or anything) is provided at bathroom sink) . For my post trip I asked for a larger room with a kitchen - nothing is provided in the kitchen like cutlery.
We had a suite which was roomy and comfortable. Retiro is walking distance to lots of things, or a cheap Uber ride. Breakfast was good. The hotel is an older one but well maintained. The bed was very comfortable, good hot water, shower was over the bath which is a little awkward but ok. There was a kitchenette too which was handy. Staff helpful and friendly. Restaurant was good for when we weren't going out.
The staff. Everyone from doorman to front desk and cleaners are great. Ezekiel (not sure of the spelling) provided us with such excellent service we decided to come back to the hotel, and this was our 2nd stay. He is friendly, patient, and so helpful. We stayed for 7 days this time, and for a few weeks before that. Both times, the staff were wonderful. You also feel very safe with the doormen being present and always aware. I don't know who the manager is, but they need to understand that their staff make this hotel great. We also liked the clean pool (pool floor is clean), the rooms were clean, and we left my engagement ring and passport in the room by accident and the cleaner turned it to the front desk. These workers all need a raise, they are excellent. The hotel is always being cleaned it seems, and there is no dust in the rooms. The hotel is quiet. We stayed at other places near by and none of them were as good.
The only down side is the restaurant. If they improved the standard of food (more fresh ingredients and higher quality), it would be impecable. Covering the breakfast so that fruit flies do not go on it would be great as well.
Staff was really friendly and let me check in early. The room was very spacious, bed comfortable and breakfast was good. It was not very busy. Pool was closed due to rain.
The room was a bit dated and not very attractive, although it functioned well. But the looks can use an update to make it look nicer.
Very handy location for exploring Buenos Aires. Large, clean and comfortable room. Great breakfast with plenty of choice. Nice to have the small rooftop pool.
Pool area was a little tired, broken sun lounger. Small kitchenette in room but no cutlery/crockery. It was available from restaurant though.
Location, size of the suite, staff very helpful and professional. Excellent breakfast. Nicely run hotel. The pool whilst not so big, fulfilled its purpose.
Nada
Good
Room was kinda dingy, inadequately lit. AC control was on “heat” when we arrived. So we switched it to Cool. Wrong move. That effectively shut off the AC. But no explanation was given at check in which was late in the evening. We effectively had no AC all night. I could, would, should have picked a better place.
Great location, room was large ,bed was very comfortable, reception staff were very friendly and quite helpful with advice, and the breakfast was basic but enough variety and quite good.
