Pros +
- This is an elegant hotel of another era that has been very well maintained and has remained elegant. The staff are very attentive, warm and international. We enjoyed speaking with them and hearing their stories.
- The included breakfast is more than just continental. Slices of lunch meat, delicious smoked salmon, eggs, and bacon are just some of the delectable options.
- The charm and character. It was close enough to walk places but also not too busy of an area
Cons -
- The shower lacked half a door, making splashing all too likely. In general, the bathroom was a little shabby in places. Overall, not a big deal.
- Breakfast mediocre. Need more ingredient options for omelets. Aircon in room blows straight at the bed, so very uncomfortable.
- Everything I have to say about the property is positive.

They described the hotel perfectly as a boutique hotel. Once lived in by a nobody named Eva Parone. You'll love it.
Staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.
Great location. Middle of everything. Great staff. Very accommodating..
It was a beautiful hotel and the staff went above and beyond
Very good location close to many attractions; excellent breakfast; friendly staff.
Charming hotel. Elegantly decorated, spacious room. Excited to know that Eva Peron stayed here. Very convenient location. Extremely helpful staff.
the hotel looks very nice, very well maintained, the rooms are beautiful, elegant. the breakfast has a big variety to choose from and the staff is very attentive.
Location, staff, room comfort.
Breakfast mediocre. Need more ingredient options for omelets. Aircon in room blows straight at the bed, so very uncomfortable.
This was our third time to visit Buenos Aires and our third time staying at the Melia Recoleta. For us, the location (close to the cruise ship port) is very convenient. I cannot give enough praise to the staff; they are always so friendly and helpful. Lastly, the breakfast buffet is very good!
Everything I have to say about the property is positive.
Breakfast was average and could have been a lot better. At a minimum, non-sweetened yoghurt, oatmeal, and couple of other items could have been offered.
The bar was also a limiting in its choices of wine by the glass and snacks accompanying the aperitivo. Could have been a lot more elaborate and pleasant.
Good location. Rooms were disappointing based on how pretty and elegant the lobby is. The bathrooms are extremely small. The room could use a refresh. The staff is probably the most disappointing. Extra towels were not delivered, coffee in rooms were not replenished and there was no hair dryer even after asking three times.
The staff is very nice and the restaurant food is great. The breakfast is complete. Location is great for walking everywhere
The room had a nasty smell, and some flying bugs in it. My major complaint is that they offer a price in usd and by the time of payment they will use the current exchange rate and not the international tourist exchange rate, or the exchange rate corresponding to the room charge. So you will ve over charged. They offered as well, the new year’s dinner in usd and charged in Ars pesos and overcharged. So they offer prices in usd and end up using the highest exchange rate allowed by the country overcharging the guest. For new years dinner I was overcharged 60 usd, and for my whole stay I was overcharged 300 usd. I did send an e mail to management and they just explain that they use an exchange rate allowed by the country. However this being so, they should clarify that prces are approximate and you will for sure be overcharged. Tried contacting Booking support and never got an answer.

dusted furniture, bathroom not 5 *, needs refreshment
The hotel's location is excellent, situated just 30 minutes by taxi from the international airport. The Recoleta neighborhood is safe and clean, with many good restaurants and a luxury shopping center just a 10-minute walk away. However, the hotel itself feels quite old-fashioned, and some areas require renovation. For instance, our bathroom's shower dripped after every use, and the toilet seat appeared worn, which is not acceptable for a 5-star hotel. The gym is inadequate; it’s a small room with poorly functioning equipment. It's better to have no gym at all than to provide such subpar facilities. The same goes for the pool and jacuzzi, which are very small and seemed unsafe, so we chose not to use them. On a positive note, the breakfast was a highlight. While the selection was somewhat limited compared to offerings in Europe, the food was excellent, and we especially enjoyed the eggs, ham, and fruit. Finally, the staff experience was inconsistent. Some team members were very friendly and helpful, while others were not. For example, we had a disappointing experience when we booked a taxi for an early morning departure through the reception, only to find out it had not been arranged. Such oversights should not occur in a 5-star hotel. Overall, while the hotel was satisfactory, given the price and the level of service, it should really be rated as a 4-star establishment.
The rooms were musty and the air conditioning should have been on. It felt like staying at an old persons house
Almost everything
They did not carry nonfat no sugar yogurt and I have health issues and can’t eat sugar or honey. Other hotels did carry it so when I requested it, they had it.
Amazing location, great breakfast. Neat little rooftop terrace.
The noise between the room and the hall and room next door is unlike any modern hotel (this is not modern. In fact evita lived in the building which makes it cool) but the walls are paper thin.
