Pros +

  • This is a funky, interesting hotel. The good: the staff are kind and accommodating, the WiFi is strong and theres a cute rooftop area. Its an authentic Argentinian experience and would be a great fit for someone who is into tango and would take advantage of being in a tengo focused space. Unfortunately, we were only here briefly, and my partner was slightly injured, so it wasnt the best fit for us. Having the bathroom on another floor was inconvenient for my partner to have to go up and down extra stairs. Also there were a few minor stains on the sheets and the pillows and mattress werent super comfortable. Overall I think this could be a good fit for someone who is very interested in tango and wants a unique experience, but wasnt the best match for our needs.
  • The quaintness of the whole place is awesome. I love that each room has a theme and, at least on our room, there are reminders of the room theme. The A/C didn't seem like it would work, but in little time we were freezing and had to turn it down (or up in temperature to make it hotter). There is a room terrace that you can walk out into, though it is kinda small. Love the fact that the bathroom looked like a separate little house inside the room. There is a safe in the bed upstairs.
  • Apassionata Tango Hotel has the most friendly hosts you can imagine. I received a warm welcome, was guided to my room, got to see a tango lesson and had interesting conversations during an excellent breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and local specialties. If I ever return to Buenos Aires, here is where I will book my stay!

Cons -

  • Although the shower was awesome the shower door and divider were a little small, so I was having a hard time keeping the water inside. Also the hotel was a little farther that I expected, but we like to walk anyways, so this was not a dealbreaker. There is a "subte" station near, however you can only leave from the subway there not arrive, which seemed kinda strange.
