Up Congreso Hotel

The front desk staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. They answered many questions about attractions and restaurants in the area.

The WiFi signal strength in the room was very weak and unstable. One had to go to the lobby to get a good connection.

Location

1. Very outdated. 2. Carpet old, musty and gummy spots. 3. Wall plastered spots and unpainted. 4. Bathroom door closed onto toilet.

Everything. Exceptional staff.

Breakfast was a bit costly for what they served. Cafe's on every block that offer better value.

Location was close to center of city and public transportation. Room had hot water and air conditioning.

Breakfast wasn't included, and if you took it was higher than local cafés. Staff was ambivalent, not bad, just putting in time. Seemed common among most Argentinian service workers.

Modern rooms

Bed bugs in the first bedroom but fortunately noticed them before I fell asleep and got bit all over.Maybe they need to pay more attention to their bedding situation.

I booked a room for two nights through Booking.com and intentionally added an extra night because our flight landed at 7:00 AM and I did not want to wait until the 3:00 PM check-in time. I clearly communicated my arrival time to the hotel in advance. Despite this, when we landed, I received a message stating that the hotel had canceled our reservation due to a “no-show,” even though the additional night was fully paid for. When we arrived, they accommodated us but charged a higher rate than what I had already paid through Booking.com. Additionally, there was no Wi-Fi during our stay, and the room was dusty and poorly maintained. I would not stay here again.

Location is very central and safe. Breakfast is good

Some glasses and a kettle in the room would be nice but everything else is pretty good.

Despite the room and the stay was nice, we had problems with the wifi it almost never worked even after asking about it etc.. So we had to use our data during or times in the room. and the design for the shower did not make sense even though the bathroom very was nice, the water would leak all over the floor

Good location to explore a less tourist side of the city. We were within 20 mins of some really interesting shopping and eating. Clean and modern property with firm beds and foam pillows. Showers had good water pressure and hot water. Good shampoo/ conditioner and body wash in the shower. The windows opened partially to allow for fresh air. This was a good value for a mid tier hotel. The breakfast was enough to get the day started but expect the standard Argentine hotel breakfast of pastries, sometimes cold cuts and coffee/tea/juice.

No issues. Opened the window during the night since the mini split makes the air too dry. Some street noise, but nothing out of the ordinary. This isn't on the hotel, this is just the nature of open windows in the city.

Friendly staff, great location and good room size

Although the shower was great it got the whole bathroom wet. Seems to be common in Argentina not to have a good shower curtain, but it bugs me to use the bathroom to get ready after it’s all wet. It’s just a small detail that could be improved.

The rooms are modern, clean and updated with large televisions. I enjoyed that the breakfast was included in my stay and that the hotel concierge helped me book my taxis to and from the airport.

The headboard shelf is poorly designed and you will hit your head very easily.

The location is very good.

Wifi is not so good, shampoo and soup aren’t good too.

Very clean, big bed, big tv and frigobar. Staff was very kind I could order food and drinks from local shops late at night and take that to my bedroom. Just what I needed.

Only few little details: conditioner bottle had shampoo in it so I couldn’t use any and the tv signal was a bit poor in my bedroom.

Room was specious and very clean.Had a small balcony but very cosy.The location is perfect, walking distance to Obelisk, San Telmo market and main shopping street and restaurants. Staff was very helpful with everything, directions, money exchange, help with the phone.Thanks all

The double bed was big and comfortable. The TV was huge, the air conditioner worked perfect and the room was quite spacious.

I don't know if it was part of the hotel or next door but there was a banging at 8 a.m. from some construction workers. I had to leave early anyways so it didn't bother me but if I could sleep longer maybe it would've.

The room was very juice during our first visit. The location is good but not the best as the neighborhood is not the very best comparing to Palermo or Recoletta.

The stuff wasn't that friendly. There were mistakes in payment and they didn't helped us a lot to figure this out. We had to run the whole process and communicate with banks during our holidays. A little bit before our second visit they canceled our reservetion insisting that the card had no money. That was completely fault as all of our cards had the required amount for charge with a great surplus as well. One time might be a coincidence but times in a row to face charging issues is not. They need to check their systems and change providers if needed.Not recommended as there are many other staying options at the same or lower price with the same or higher standards.

Easy check-in, location is quite good close to the Congreso

No sound insulation, cheap materials all over. It is beautiful, but after 5 minutes you start seeing the issues with the material. No breakfast is available in the hotel

The best value for money i found in Buenos Aires if you are looking for a room to sleep without breakfast, as the hotel doesn´t has a restaurant. The location is good, within 30 minutes to walk, you can reach most of the touristic areas. Besides that, there are more than enough public transport routes starting right next to the hotel. A grocery store is super close with a wide selection of basically everything you need. The room i had looks exactly like the photos on booking. I was overall very satisfied with my stay at this property.

Wifi wasn´t working as the room is to far away from the wifi router. That was very annoying.The bathtub, also used as a shower, wasn´t in a good condition. To take a shower, its more than okay but in would never use the bathtub for its purpose to take a relaxed bath.

The hotel was great! The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. The staff was friendly. The location was ideal for me as it was walking distance to the places I needed to go but also not in the center of the touristy area. The free coffee machine was a plus.

Close to the center, cheap for the quality

They charge my friend incorrectly the first time. When they fixed it, they charged him twice and then he had to reach out banks and customer services departments to figure out what did happen. This is unacceptable especially when you have paid thousands to enjoy your holiday. Finally revolut asked from up to return the money and they did so. A few days later we had one more reservation with this hotel. 2hrs before my arrival they cancel my reservation insisting that there were no money iny cars. That's completely incorrect because all ofy cards has more than the required amount, but also the payment was about to take place in the hotel. Instead of accepting that it's a mistake from their side that they make payments checks last minute giving no time for reaction to the visitor, they told me that the fault was again on my side and my card has a problem ( the se card I paid them last time BTW).... Strongly not recommend. There are many great option to stay in Buenos Aires at the same or higher quality and better price.
