Pros +
- Excellent staff trying to provide as much assistance as they could to any customer. Great Breakfast which was offered from early to help the tourists doing day tours.
- I liked everything, very central position, close to the Obelisk, Pacific Mall and many other attractions within walking distance. The room was large, furnished with armchairs, a coffee table, a closet with a mirror, TV, lamp, old fashioned telephone haha, a very clean bathroom and a Videl that I hadn't seen for a years, very quiet room for sleeping and relaxing, elevator, very relaxing jacuzzi, gym and sauna.Breakfast was good, thanks to the ladies, greetings to them from us. Good and varied breakfast, wonderful coffee, and nice CHURROS and bacon. My family told me that they felt at home. Thanks. Greetings!!!
- Beautiful boutique hotel. We loved them room - very large and quiet. Staff were excellent, very helpful. Breakfast was ok with good coffee and an acceptable breakfast (Argentinian breakfast always seems to be ok at best, but I am being picky). Location was also excellent as it was within walking distance to much of the main part of the city, if you are willing to walk.
Cons -
- Area is central to the Obelisk and 9 de Julio so need to keep your eyes open after dark in some of the side streets. By day no issues.
- The breakfast area anmd small and the selections very limited. Was charged full price for a crappy brunch
- nothing!

We found it ok

Excellent hotel, super cute tango tgemed antique decor and staff us super friendly.
Location was ideal - easy walking around the city. Breakfast was excellent. Room quiet and the bed was comfortable. The staff was excellent - arranged our transportation to the port (we were taking a cruise out of BA). Loved the decor - truly unusual.
nothing!
We entirely enjoyed our 7-night stay at Tanguero. The staff are very professional and efficient. The room spacious and comfortable (double pane windows make the room very quiet). Satisfying breakfast. Excellent location, very walkable.
The place is charming, in an old school kind of way. Location is great for the center. Very close to Teatro Colon.Sauna is good, though hours are limited and you must book in advance. Breakfast is ok.
You have to always wait for someone to let you into the lobby. It felt very impractical and slightly intrusive, but i guess it's part of the old school way. Depending who you got at the door the person was also pleasant or merely there to read you the rules. Really felt more like a boarding school than a 4 star hotel level of service. Missed having some bottled or filtered water available, too. Bought it at the corner store instead.
Location, the old beautiful stile, cleaned. Nice breakfast, nice staff, especially Rudolfo who the only one who speaks English. His service it was exceptional.
Staff didn’t speak English, except Rudolfo.
Perfect location. Rodolfo from the reception was amazing. He helped us with the tickets to a Tango show, recommended us restaurants and called a taxi for us
It was comfortable and centrally located.
The carpet was old and and some of the furnishing need to be updated.
Generally, the hotel was great. The room was better than expected and well kept. The staff were excellent.
Breakfast was okay. But the standard Argentine breakfast consists of cold cut ham and cheese and lots of sweet baked goods, which gets tiresome after a while. Also, the water for tea could have been hotter. Neither of these is a problem of the hotel, in particular.
Helpful and friendly staff, best bathroom/shower (great pressure everything works properly), large room. Hotel is a bit dated but well maintained.
Check in was fabulous with Rodolfo on duty. He is a welcoming and friendly person with a good grasp of English, coupled with huge dosages of humour. He is well versed in the City and can offer information on anything related to Buenos Aires. The hotel is well located to get you to many attractions, restaurants, bistros, and cafes on foot.
The forties theme did not appeal to us. Dinner is not available at the hotel, and we missed breakfast as we had an early start to the airport at 06:15. Breakfast is only available from 07:00. We of course paid for a breakfast that we couldn't have.
Wow! It's like I have been transported back to the glamour of the 1950s. The public areas are filled with memorabilia, the bedroom is awash with red velvet and gilt trimmings, and black and white photos from a bygone age adorn every wall. The bed was comfortable, the room massive and the breakfast was lovely. What's not to like?!
This is a charming, elegant boutique hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a buffet of yogurt, eggs, fruit, juice, pastry, ham and cheese, coffee & tea. There are many restaurants nearby- Argentinian, Chinese and sushi. Very good food. The Casa Rosada, Obelisk and Teatro Colon are within walking distance. Easy to get a taxi in the neighborhood or the hotel staff will call one to reach more distant locations such as art museums. One of the Best parts of this hotel is the staff. We arrived late and were warmly greeted by Rudolpho (Sp?). Very professional. He addressed our questions and helped us settle in. He couldn't have been more welcoming. For the rest of our stay Emiliano and occasionally Franco were at the front desk. Emiliano was terrific and very professional. He helped with every question we had from cultural inquiries and directions to phone cards. He always made us feel as though it was his pleasure to help in any way. Franco was also friendly and helpful. He gave us great suggestions for restaurants including vegetarian. I would come back to the Tanguero Hotel.
Friendly excellent staff. Clean comfortable room
Rodolfo at the front desk was outstanding. He was personable, knowledgeable and helped us organize our itinerary based on the day of the week. He greeted us by name when we came and went.
Some simple items are in needs of a refresh, like towels and carpets.
The hotel and the staff are great! They were so accommodating and the room was beautiful.
This isn't against the hotel, but my preference. The bed was very firm and the pillows were very dense foam. I prefer a soft bed and soft pillows.
Very nice place due to centrality, spacious and clean rooms as well as a small but fine breakfast. Moreover, the hotel is located in a calm street which provides you a peaceful sleep. You are close to many sightseeing spots and public trsnsport options. Especially noted has to be the very friendly and helpful staff. They helped us with many bookings and had great advice.
