Pros +
- Breakfast had quite a variety of options for a smaller hotel. Location right in town was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations.
- Location is great.
- It had a door and that door led to the front door and away from the hotel...
Cons -
- Not much.
- Parking. None available exclusively for hotel guests. Had to park in the back by the Kiwi Store then walk all the way around half a block to enter through the front since there is no hotel entrance through the back. At the entrance one can see broken or missing floor tiles. Bathrooms are outdated and moldy and we were afraid to take showers in there. Walls are paper thin such that a person on the phone in the adjacent room was perfectly audible to us. If we could hear him, he could hear us. The bed was made but we weren't sure if the sheets were washed prior to our stay so we were very uncomfortable. Left early in the morning, didn't want to stay for breakfast. We had seen enough.
- Dust on the radiator...thick matted never cleaned human skin type dust....dust on the bathroom mirror type dust you don't want falling off onto you as you brush your teeth....dust under the skin so evident it could be used to make paper maiche....the staff less than salubrious in their dealing with the public....the breakfast was abysmal....food cold like the scrambled eggs....when I went to get food and lay a table I found it had been cleaned away???I left the scrambled eggs and walked out when I realise that asking for them to be hot (not warm was going to be a task too much in the morning as was in evidence by the 3rd rate staff inefficiencies)Nope dont stay....

Location is perfect and staff helpful and friendly. The bed was very good
The room was very basic and a little worn. There are no amminities like coffee- or tea and the possibility to make in room.
The room was very spacious for a twin room and the bed was very comfortable. It was also clean throughout.Public areas are very modern. Breakfast was goodCheckin was very simple - say your name and you get your room key.
Parking up front is limited to 30 minutes. Round the back you can park overnight, but the back hotel entrance is not designed for guests. It's very dusty, industrial and it just feels like a place that you're not supposed to be in. The walk round to the front of the hotel inconveniently long, so you settle for the back entrance anyway. The rooms are old, and while it says that the hotel is undergoing an upgrade, I look at the room and it looks like just a few bits of furniture (bed, main light, tv, toilet, wall paint) have been upgraded. So I'm left with the impression that their idea of a room upgrade is not the same as mine. The fabric of the room and bathroom has not been changed out.Worst thing is the bath. It's not waterproof against the wall and taking a shower will make the floor wet. There is a vent, but there's no forced ventilation and the result is the bathroom humidity does not disperse - instead it percolates into the rest of your room overnight. There are electric car chargers in the general vicinity of the hotel, but none in the hotel car park itself.I almost got double charged at checkout. I prepaid already via booking.com and they presented me with an unpaid bill. After double checking my booking.com email and showing it to them the matter was promptly settled.
The Rjukan hotel has a very good location for visiting the surrounding attractions, quite close to Krossobanen, Vemork museum and Hardangervidda. Nice, big rooms, good bed/mattress. Slightly old-school bathroom, but still clean and ok. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

super central, nice and helpful staff
they don't provide soap in the bathroom, only shampoo
Centre of town location.
Breakfasts were a little disappointing compared to others in Norway. Bathrooms need renovation as kit looks tired. Dinner options limited and not to same level as elsewhere in Norway. Visit coincided with lots of noisy youngsters congregating outside for some time.
Breakfast was good and room was spacious even we were 4 adults.
nothing to complain about.
The dinner served at the restaurantFriendly personnellNormal beds were good
The sofa bed was not comfortableShowering in a bath instead of regular showerNo back entrance of the hotel in relation to the parkingAt breakfast lack of things for people with an allergy/intollerance (Lactose)
Great location on the main street of the village, right next to a supermarket. Great for stopping overnight during our road trip.
Old hotel that seems to be in the process of renovation at the moment. Comfortable rooms with an older feel and a very small bathroom. Dinner at the hotel is quite expensive, even for Norwegian standards.
Location was ideal for visiting town. Comfortable small hotel with nice staff and good restaurant. Informative historic photos throughout. Comfortable beds.
Room was small with a tiny bathroom.
Very good bed in a large clean roomThe lady who swerved us dinner also checked out the next morning and was very friendly and helpful
Nothing to complain about
Good breakfast. Free parking near the hotel. Good restaurant in the hotel.
Location
Very soft mattresses, a narrow bed and there was nothing in the room except one armchair and a bed. No kettle, coffee maker. simply nothing.
central location, bus stop nearby, nice restaurant on the ground floor, breakfast included
the room a bit old
All though the rooms are under construction, and the bathrooms wasnt fixed, yet, it was all in all a very nice stay. It was fresh and cleen rooms, with new beds and sheets etc.Staff was great and the food was perfect. Recomended!!
Central location with free parking, one or rather the only restaurant open during winter and very friendly that were always available to assist in every possible way
The rooms are still not fully refurbished, the bathrooms are yet to be upgraded, and the lighting in the room could be improved. However, given the fact the new owners are doing what they can to refurbish the place, it is only a matter of time before the outstanding works are completed
Right in the centre of things…
Extremely comfy bed and nice linen.
