Beautiful building in a beautiful location
Warm and cosy and the food was delicious
Pretty building and surroundings
Staff, breakfast, dinner value, dirty hot tub
The hall has stunning interior, welcoming wood fire, food was freshly made and very well priced with good potions. Tranquil and welcoming atmosphere. The room we had, room 1 was outstanding with views of the country. Full of comfort and very peaceful. Will be returning. This is now my favourite place to stay.
Everything was perfect.
Beautiful property and location, i could have stayed a month. You never have to leave for anything…grounds exquisite
Bathroom a little tight and shower was small but amazing hot water
Great location, quiet hotel, good service
Loved the location and the building was beautiful, food was also beautiful and well presented.
I had paid for the deluxe room it was my partners 40th and wanted to take him somewhere nice the only good thing about the room was the bath and shower. We had bugs all in the room the bed was extremely hard wallpaper was peeling off in the bathroom to be honest it could do with serious attention.
We stayed in Room 9 again. Gorgeous. The only thing that could have been better is the weather.
The tea at breakfast wasn't very hot.
The Evans family are carrying out a great job refurbishing the Hall.
No lift. Bath too high sides. So people with hip problems cannot get into bath
We enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant, we had Thai Red Chicken Curry, it was delicious and generous portions. The staff are all so friendly here. Nice little bar which was fairly busy with holiday guests staying on the site, (there is a holiday park with static caravans in the grounds). Breakfast again was very good quality with self service cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit and juice with a good choice of cooked breakfasts. We only stayed one night and didn’t have time to explore local walks and local area…maybe next time.
Not too much of an issue but our bedroom (No 9) overlooked the back garden area and I would have preferred some window covering ie blinds or half nets as felt a little exposed when getting dressed, and the same with the toilet area which had patterned glass, but would have felt more comfortable with some frosting on the glass :)
Beautiful hotel with lots of wood panelling. Room comfortable, food great with lovely staff.
No complaints whatever.
Very comfy stay at Mellington Hall. Great location, nice and quiet with great walks for the dog. Nice refurbished room, with lots of hot water and great water pressure (not always guaranteed in older properties). Very nice breakfast and evening food of a very good standard as well. There was an event on the Saturday which could have caused some disruption but it was fine. Would have been nice to know it was happening however.
Not much. Its linked to a very nice caravan park next door so just to be aware of, as the patrons there do use the hotel facilities.
Spotless room. We ate in the hotel for our evening meal. Not overpriced at all for hotel prices. Food was really good
A beautiful hotel in a lovely quiet location. Large spacious bedroom, good standard of cleanliness.Comfortable lounge , resident areas. Good breakfast
A very limited evening menu ( none of the 3 specials available?).
Staff are really friendly and helpful and the surroundings stunningly beautiful
Beds could do with toppers as they’re a bit too hard for me. Pillow menu would be nice too
The overall experience met our requirements, staff were very pleasant, food was of a really good level
A bit top heavy on cost for this neck of the woods! No air conditioning! but in fairmness, this we were aware of prior to visiting.
The room and grounds were spectacular. Comfy bed and incredible jacuzzi bath
The dining area for dinner was quite cramped and a bit outdated.
Lovely rural location. The Victorian gothic architecture and internal decor add considerably to the ambience. The room was large and comfortable.
The restaurant was very poor - little more than standard pub fare. The bar closed at 9 o’clock but we weren’t told. At 9.15 whilst we were sitting in the lounge a member of staff told us she was turning off almost all the lights. We sat talking in almost complete darkness. At 10 o’clock a late arrival tried getting in but the doors were locked. We let him in. The hotel knew he would be arriving late as they had left a room key on the reception. It gave a terrible impression. The manager wasn’t at all bothered when we mentioned this and the early closing of the bar the next day. This is not a cheap hotel and I would expect better service and a much better restaurant. In practice this hotel is little more than a glorified club house for the large static caravan site in the grounds.
We found the property after our original stay at another property was ruined and this place changed our honeymoon it was truly beautiful and amazing, as soon as we walked in we felt welcomed by every staff member especially Karen who was so lovely every time we spoke to her , the room was spacious, the food was incredible aswell honestly we will be coming back here whenever possible thankyou so much mellington hall you are amazing!
Absolutely nothing bad to say about this place at all
