About

Commanding a spectacular seafront location a few minutes’ walk from the town center, this hotel is located next to Venue Cymru (North Wales Theater and Conference Center) with generous parking adjacent to the building. Following a full but careful renovation, Cae Mor combines a beautiful blend of contemporary and traditional styles. Modern statement lighting, a traditional Victorian fireplace and comfortable seating create a comfortable place to relax. The restaurant is a fine dining experience lovingly named 1890 after the year the hotel was built, offering views of Llandudno Bay.

    Pros +

    • We had a lovely sea view room. Rooms are lovely and spacious. Modern decoration, gorgeous bathroom. Great tea/coffee facilities that were restocked daily. Water bottles also supplied. Fridge with small freezer compartment. Wardrobe with ironing board and iron. Breakfast was included in our stay and this was lovely! The continental breakfast choice was very small though. The staff were extremely lovely and helpful. The bar area was lovely too. The whole hotel overall was very warm and inviting. And we would definitely stay again with a few small requests.
    • The property was clean and there was nothing they hadn’t thought of. The hotel restaurant provided great food at a reasonable price. The car park was a plus. The staff were great and couldn’t do enough for you. We will definitely be coming back.
    • Rooms were very clean and staff were very friendly and helpful, would definitely stay again in a bigger room

    Cons -

    • The room was extremely hot when we entered and did take a very long time to cool down even when turned down as far as possible. The duvet on the bed was extremely thick and the mattress was too soft (more our problem than theirs) but the combination made sleeping very hard. Our children were sleeping together in the sofa bed. The sofa bed was small and we now realise they cannot share a bed as they disturbed each other all the time( they’re 5 and 4 years old). The sofa bed was also sagging in the middle and was very noisy when one of them moved. I will be asking for separate beds for them next time! I’m not sure if it’s just the time of year (February) but there seemed to be minimal staff all the time, having to occasionally wait for food, drinks or service at reception. My only issues with the included breakfast was a too little choice for the continental breakfast options and in all honestly, what hotel doesn’t have any chocolate spread (Nutella) for the kids!!! I’ll be bringing my own next time!
    • Room was too small but my own fault for ordering a small double, just didn't expect it to be so small, breakfast was OK but I ordered continental and only got croissants and pastries I expected a selection of cheese and meats, evening meal was nice
    • The restaurant service was very slow.

Great location within easy walking distance of all amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful and the Weldh breakfast was excellent.

The room got quite warm during the night

The mattress was the best I have met. Slept well. The Restaurant was good. The staff were nice and friendly.

The bathroom modern design was not good. The sink was rectangular and large. Ages to fill and the flat bottom meant water was retained. The walk in shower floor was slippery making the danger of knocking into the glass screen possible.

The staff were very attentive and friendly. We had room 106 which was a corner room with what felt like a panoramic sea view. It was beautiful, the rooms were very modern. The TV in the room you could cast from your phone which was an added bonus. The room was very clean and well presented and they had some little extras like a sleep kit, comb, tooth care set to name a few. I would definitely recommend this hotel and have no doubt we would be back. We ate evening meal in the hotel and the food and service were gorgeous. Breakfast the next day was made to order and this was nice also.

This is the only reason we put a 9. We arrived and parked up at 12, knowing check in wasn't till 3. However, we were hoping to drop our bags and freshen up before heading into the town, the doors were locked and we were sat in front of a window where the chef and another member of staff were who could see us but didn't do anything. We just headed off into the town instead. If allowed in we would have potentially had a drink in the bar before heading out and if the doors are going to be locked till a certain time, advertise this and it would have been fine.

Location to Venue Cymru.Breakfast.View from the room. The staff.Ample parking.

Shower needed extra attention.Room not cleaned, no fresh towels.

The room was well furnished and had everything we needed, the night porter was friendly and we got to our room quickly when we arrived. The room and ensuite was very spacious and couldn't have asked for much more in that regard.

Upon entering the room a musty smell hit us almost like smoking in the room is permitted. This smell left its mark on all clothes even once we had left. The room was very warm considering it is February. The windows do not open for fresh air. Even with the air conditioning turned to the lowest it didn't seem to make much difference. The bedding was clean, however, the headboard was covered in long hairs which really should be part of the room cleaning tasks in my opinion.Hopefully it is an isolated experience as it is a really nice hotel and location.

Location, staff, restaurant, ample car parking, comfortable room.

    Nothing at all.

    10GregorPosted on: 2-10-2026

Staff were helpful and always cooperative. The room we stayed in was clean, tidy, spacious and well presented. Evening meal was well cooked and well presented. Location of this hotel , with convenient parking, just next door to the theatre is ideal for attending performances. ( impressed by the theatre as well ). Overall I am glad I picked this hotel.

The noise from the central heating system detracts from the rooms at the back of the hotel. Other than that, I would happily return.

Nearness to theatre. Helpfulness of staff. Overall comfort.

    10LlinosPosted on: 2-9-2026

Everything was incredibly well thought out and professional. The staff were friendly, considerate and went above and beyond to make sure I was looked after. The room was very tidy, everything you could need was there. Very handy to have a fridge there to avoid having to nip out to get food/drinks while working from the hotel. The snug was a real treat, so wonderful to work by the fire with a view of the sea. The food in the restaurant was lovely, best steak I've had in ages. SO close to Venue Cymru so super handy for working there.

The full breakfast was lovely but the mushrooms on toast was disappointing. The Netflix app was not on the TV and couldn't be added without a passcode. Would be good to get that added to all the TV's. I kept forgetting to mention it as I was passing reception. No biggie I just watched BBC iplayer instead. There was a big standby light on the bottom of the TV which lit up the room at night. Not much they can do about that I suppose and didn't impact my stay but may bother some people. It wasn't something I bothered to mention to staff.
