    Pros +

    • Convenient location and availability of room
    • Lovely room with very comfy bed. Friendly, helpful staff. Great food and beautiful back garden with stunning views.
    • Comfortable bed and pillows. Modern bathroom with fluffy towels. Peaceful location.Decent television.Friendly staff.

    Cons -

    • Noisy from upstairs creaky floor
    • Bed was a bit ropey but ok!
    • Paying an extra £5 for a continental breakfast. I had phoned and spoken to a lady and explained that I was diabetic and couldn't eat croissants etc but was told there would be cereals. However, they were sugared and unsuitable. Could not believe that Weetabix weren't provided. £5 for 2 slices of toast and coffee is extortionate on top of the room fee. I also feel that to charge me £40 a night for my dogs when I left the room immaculate as my dogs were NOT allowed on the bed and I had brought their own beds anyway was a bit much. I appreciate that not all people are so good about this but do feel that my room could have beern checked and the fee for the dogs adjusted acccordingly. Clever photography made it look like the hotel was rural instead of being on a busy road with only narrow pavements on which to walk the dogs. Evening meals: poor choice and the fries were clearly frozen and some were black round the edge.

The bed was quirky and historic, but extremely comfortable, they have a cracking cooked breakfast, and the place is full of character! The staff are friendly and superbly helpful!

The canopy bed was a cool quirk and was very comfy. Enjoyed being able to have a beer and a meal in the same place we were staying.

It was charming and welcoming. The pub was cosy and had a lot of traditional character. The staff were friendly. We booked an hour before we arrived and got the last room only available because of a cancellation. The dinner menu was impressive for a small pub/hotel in a rural area. I had the sea bass which was delicious. Chef is obviously very good.

We had lamb shank the first evening - it was out of this world. Unbelieveable. Gorgeous minty gravy, mash. Amazing. Second night burger and chips. Again, best burger …in memory. No fat in it. Beautiful. It was clean, friendly, and handy for our walk.

Bed was a bit ropey but ok!

    Staff friendly. Meal was good.

Very dated. Uncomfortable bed. Very expensive for what we got. Room was musty and had cobwebs however bathroom was clean as were linens. Dogs not allowed in the garden. For a dog friendly pub this meant we couldn’t allow our dogs out. We booked for 2 nights but only stayed one night as was not as expected.

It was a cosy little pub and the rooms were decent sized. Location was beautiful.

The bed was not as comfy as id like. With the size of the room it could be better and there were spider webs
