Great location for bike riding. Lovely people. Food really good.

Fantastic food, reasonably priced, and lots of it! Bedroom exceptionally clean and ‘fresh’ looking. Nice atmosphere in the bar.
There was nothing to dislike.
Everything was perfect, Friendly staff, easy location, big parking space, big room, big and nice breakfast
We liked everything
Breakfast good in the end.
Told that to have residents’ breakfast rate, should book night before. This was not stated on check in or on info in room. Girl serving breakfast was lovely and let us have residents breakfast.
Good basic accommodation. Food was pricey but really good. Ample off-street parking. Located right in the centre of the town.
Most of the staff were very good with the exception of one incredible surly barmaid who was moody to the point of being rude! A face to face job working with the public really isn't for her? Her ability to take drink orders without saying a word is something to be admired though!
Bathroom was spotless, bed was comfortable.
They objected to giving us the residents breakfast, because we hadn't it booked the night before. No one, or no where in their information suggested it had to be booked in advance. As a resident I expected to have a residents breakfast, but the lady in charge was having none of it. No apology, no compromise, it is what it is attitude.
Bedroom clean but basic, no frills.
Horrible bar that became a sports bar in the evening with a coach load of rowdy football supporters; defined the whole bar and eating area. Impossible to have a civilised drink and meal, cancelled meal. Fortunately able to find alternative bar and restaurant. Gave feedback to the owners and have not received a reply. Publicity for venue was misleading.
Clean, fresh and a good location
The room was cold. It was also very noisy due to the main road outside. The walls between rooms were paper thin, so the next door TV was clearly audible during the stay, more noticeable early morning.
Room was clean and reasonably spacious, and staff were helpful when we asked them to store a bike and some wet clothes.
The pub downstairs had incredibly loud music blasting out until 11pm both nights, so there was no chance of sleeping, even on the top floor. Even checking-in involved a fight to the bar through a scrum of drunk locals to bellow at the bar staff to get us a key. Then on our second night, the fire alarm went off at 1am. It turned out we were the only guests, and there appeared to be no-one else in the building at all. We had to call the fire brigade ourselves from the car park. When they arrived, it turned out there had been someone on site, but they'd obviously celebrated Friday night with enough enthusiasm that they slept right through the alarm. His comment when the fire brigade found a faulty sensor: "oh yes, that same one went wrong three months ago" - didn't think to fix it then, though, eh? Finally, on a cold return to bed, the paper thin duvet and no spare blankets left us shivering to sleep.
The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was up to date in terms of the facilities. Interesting view from the window across the town to the surrounding hills, which were covered in snow when I visited. Breakfast was fine, and the dinner I had on my final night (lamb shank) was great.
Newly decorated room. Free parking onsite
Obviously it's an old building so alot of stairs to get up to the rooms, but I only had hand lugguage so not an issue.
Everything - from check-in, two nights in the bar, EXCEPTIONAL food, bedrooms and checkout were flawless and fantastic. Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. Loved it
Nothing at all
lovely stay, comfortable bed. clean, everything looks fresh and new. generously sized bathroom. lovely!
the trucks that came in early in the morning for whatever business they had to tend to. 7 in the morning to wake up hotel guests is a great way to make sure there are no late check outs! please consider.
Iv stayed here a few times now and it never disappoints, The rooms are comfy and spotless and all the staff are lovely.
spotless well priced rooms, good location, easy early check out. staff were polite and helpful. Food in the pub was excellent and well priced, lamb burger and chips.
Location was perfect, room was comfort and warm, good bathroom and pet friendly
Newly refurbished throughout. Affordable and varied menu, good selection of ales and friendly staff.
It was all good
