Pros +
- Absolutely amazing staff that go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
- Staff was great.
- Booked this hotel due to the location of the Game of Thrones studio tour. Everything was spot on and as we finished our tour a little earlier I requested an earlier check in which was authorised immediately. Room was beautiful and the location wasn't bad. A short walk into town for a mooch and a pint and in the morning we had a nice walk through Solitude park. Note..if you go at dusk or Dawn you may see some otters (sadly we didn't see any). Chose to have our evening meal there, was very quick and efficient and both meals were delicious. The breakfast was nice and hot too. Only issue is I didn't have room for it ?. Staff are very friendly they generally just keep to themselves but they are very helpful if needed. All in all a great stay!! Would go again.
Cons -
- Room was small with furniture that really didn't fit the room. Bathroom had the smallest sink possible.
- To be honest the only thing I wish I'd done is tell them it was our anniversary might have got a room upgrade ? but other than that nothing to complain about.

Exceptional friendly staff...attentive and good teamwork
Nothing really, met expectations...food portions are huge...make room!!
absolutely beautiful hotel and setting really enjoyed the atmosphere and original features everywhere. the staff were wonderful friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic would definitely recommend it and will be back again
Beautiful hotel with well set up rooms. The food, both breakfast and restaurant meals were really good. The staff are friendly and accommodating
Staff are amazing!! Food was gorgeous definitely worth a stay
Shower pressure isn't great during busy times in the hotel
Walking distance from bus station; hotel surrounded by well-kept, old garden and situated on secluded grounds atop a hill, thus removed from traffic noise; cheerful and competent staff, all very kind and helpful; tasty breakfast served from menu rather than buffet (service always prompt); comfortable bed
You had to be stronger than I am to push open the window; the lack of double glazing is energy-inefficient and a drawback when weather is either hot or very cold
Night porter went out of his way to make coffee and toast at 7am so I had breakfast as I had to leave before breakfast is served
Breakfast served later than expected at 7.30am onwards.
Room was lovely and warm, with all the amenities available. Reading the history of the hotel available in the hotel room was nice to read. Visited the dining room for breakfast and it was beautiful. The breakfast itself had lots of varieties and was very yummy and filling, which set us up for a long day of sightseeing and shopping.
The breakfast and evening meal was very good. The bar and staff were helpful and attentive. The building is really beautiful and the grounds are lovely to drive up to the house.
The bathroom was very poor in our room number 3. The tiles and grouting were black with dirt and the standard of workmanship in the bathroom especially around the shower was a disgrace. When using the shower is is impossible to regularise the water temp. If you are going to advertise a 4 star experience then provide that standard.
Comfortable, staff were lovely, nice breakfast, dinner was great in the bar, clean and nice to stay in a manor house
Our toilet moved when we sat on it lol…bathroom was a bit small…but overall really loved it.
Reception colleague was fantastic. Lovely building very clean and amazing food
Shower was old and worn. Water temp not very hot but OK to Shower in
Authentic lovely building with lots of character. Room was lovely, staff were nice.
The rooms need to be better sound insulated, I could hear everything going on in the hotel from very early in the morning and the shower was cold ?
Great location, great atmosphere, very tastefully decorated, lovely gardens
Food was average, breakfast and dinner were overcooked and dry
Lovely breakfast, staked pancakes & poached egg with toast.
A wee bit of noise from the other guests at night.
Friendly staff, easy check in, nice clean room.
Our room was beautiful and bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was small but well appointed (however water pressure was bad). Staff in the hotel were friendly and obliging. We had breakfast one morning in the beautiful dining room and dinner one evening in the bar. Food was lovely on both occasions. Excellent location! We were visiting The Game of Thrones Studio Tour and the hotel is a 6 minute drive from the Studio Tour pick up location which is in The Boulevard Outlet Mall. Banbridge town was possibly the cleanest town we have ever seen! We really enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is older so you can see normal wear and tear in places like the carpets etc. The water pressure in our bathroom was really bad, the shower was particularly bad but as we were only staying for 2 nights we made it work. Breakfast finishes at 10am which was a little early we felt. However, I should say that none of those things would turn us off staying in the hotel again.
