Pros +

  • Hot tub, rooms
  • The location for me was good as I had relatives staying at the guest cottages down the road, and also we met other relatives at the pub for dinner (highly rated!), so the 30 second walk to meet everyone was fantastic. The Old Mill room was basic, but clean. Generally I liked the room. The bed is comfortable if you like a typical firm mattress. A small bar fridge would be a nice addition. I didn't have much interaction with the hosts, but the few times I did see them, they seemed friendly. Also, I really appreciated them letting me drop off my bags before the official check-in time.

Cons -

  • I should have studied the pictures/description closer, but had assumptions that the "Tool Shed" would be an independent outbuilding that was previously used for storing tools instead of a very small room wedged between two others that had names of other typical outbuildings that didn't exist. So it's partially my fault that I'm disappointed. However, the noise transfer from the other rooms was unacceptable. The walls must be made of crepe paper, lol. Every cough, every sneeze, even individual words in conversations, the TV droning on, etc. I'm just thankful there were no... um... "amorous events" happening next door during my stay. There is also a room above that appears to run the length of the attic, and when someone is moving around up there, it really sounds like the ceiling is about to cave in. In terms of noise, it was a bit like staying in a hostel (but at hotel prices). I didn't think it was great value for money. I wouldn't really recommend it as a first choice, but I also wouldn't suggest avoiding it at all costs. Definitely pack some earplugs if you decide to stay here.
