Less than 1 mile from the M4 motorway (junction 38), this traditional pub offers rooms with attached bathroom, an award-winning bar and restaurant, free Wi-Fi and free parking. The Twelve Knights has 10 comfortable, spacious rooms with attached bathroom. Each room has a TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Warm and welcoming, the Twelve Knights is conveniently located on the Margam Road in Margam, with good access to the region's major roads. Close to Port Talbot and the Port Talbot Steelworks, Twelve Knights is also just under 9.9 mi from the heart of Swansea.

Pros +
- Location, staff and cleanliness of the bedding, towels and bathroom furniture. The bed was comfortable - shame about the racket (see below.) I upped my rating by one point solely because of the staff.
- Good location. Nice pub.
- Comfortable room, everything needed was there. Warm and friendly staff. Food was amazing
Cons -
- Our room (#9 I think) was at the back of the hotel, and when we arrived I found it very peaceful and was looking forward to a much-needed peaceful sleep. But in fact I was kept awake by the on-and-off sound of an industrial fan on the premises - EVEN WHILST USING EARPLUGS. I had forgotten to take my slippers, and I don't wear shoes indoors, so once setttled in began going around barefoot. This was a bad decision. The carpet was more horrible than it looked, and there were 3 potato chips under one of the beds. I was surprised to easily get a table on a Friday evening. A few years ago, the impressive menu choice and the quality of the food would have made that impossible. There is now reasonable choice on the menu but the quality is nothing like it was. However, I was moved to see a member of staff taking time to thoroughly clean a nearby table.
- The bedroom is in need of updating and the toilet needs replacing.
