    • Excellent freshly cooked breakfast. I was pleased when the breakfast was presented on a hot plate.
    • Beautiful views, staff were wonderful, perfect for bikers well out the way so bikes are safe
    • Miserable

    Cons -

    • More places to hang wet towels in the bathroom__perhaps hooks on the door.
    • It was so flippen cold in the room that the bedding felt wet ! Bathroom was so small, you couldn’t fit on the toilet and shower was terrible
    • Room was cheap and shoddy as was the rest of the hotel. The common areas were unkept and littered with this and that. The room number was written in red ink on a piece of A4 paper sellotaped to the door. While I can’t say that our room was not clean, it was below my standard. All in all for the price it was very dismal and disappointing

Staff were very nice and made our stay very relaxing. The food in the restaurant (dinner and breakfast) was amazing. Hotel was nice and quiet due to time of year (early January)

Breakfast was fine. Hosts friendly. The rest very much below expectations. Won’t stay again. For us, it was extremely basic.

    Total scammers

Normally I don't give any bad reviews to hotels. But this time I need to. This place is a total scam! We arrived at 10pm (we had notified them of our late arrival). When we arrived, no one was at the reception and we found the keys on a table. Next morning we had to get up early for work - no breakfast at 7am! No one there for check out! We were supposed to pay at checkout. We left and sent them a message saying we could pay online or otherwise come back in the evening after work to pay our bills. Without any response from their side, they classified us as no-shows and applied a fee of 300€! When we called the same day they said they would cancel the fine. So in the evening we returned to the hotel to pay our bills, but until today the 300€ have not been refunded! And no commercial gesture was made regarding the breakfast that we had paid for but that we have never had! Despite several phone calls, still no refund. Their response "Oh, but we have to do it through booking.com and that's a bit complicated". I don't care, I want my money back. My advice: avoid this place!

Friendly helpful staff, good breakfast and good evening meal. Tranquil location, tucked out of the way off the main road, I had no problem finding the hotel but do understand why some reviews said it can be difficult to find. No frills, but a comfy and clean well-appointed bedroom and bathroom. Plenty of parking.

Room and beds comfortable.Food homey and generous portions

Directions at door to know where to check in would be helpful More attention to detail when redoing rooms and replacing (or not) things like towels, missing light bulbs etc.

Location is out of the way so peaceful, you do need a car. We loved the second room we were offered, it was large, modern , light , very clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent, plenty of choice and freshly cooked. Evening meals at the hotel were also very good and we enjoyed eating there during our stay.

The room we were offered on first arrival was not acceptable at all. It was like a run down transport hotel room, not fit to offer to guests, and we felt relieved when we were offered more superior, updated rooms, but also felt somewhat offended that we had been offered the shabby room first, there was such a massive difference in the quality, so I would say avoid room 12 at this hotel, they have much better rooms to offer you and it will make a big difference to your stay here

Friendly staff, very good breakfast and good evening meal menu too. Comfy, well-appointed bedroom and bathroom. Plenty of parking.

Initially tricky to find the way in and a somewhat confusing number of 'staff only' signs on doors. An option for an earlier breakfast would have been useful (8:30-9:30 is the time slot). There was quite a bit of noise in the room from the bar downstairs and from other guests walking around- very thin walls.

Warm comfortable room. No frills but was clean and described accurately

We had a takeaway breakfast which was a cold bacon roll, packet of crisps and bottle of sparkling water

Set in a lovely quiet spot with great views of the surrounding countryside. The staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. The food was exceptional. The room was clean, very cosy and comfortable. I'd definitely recommend and if was in the area, wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

    Nothing!

The hotel is lovely, in quiet and peaceful surroundings, with pretty views of fields and trees. The roads approaching it are narrow and rural, but properly paved, not farm tracks like a lot of country properties. The room was spacious and very comfortable, beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished - it's an older building so you get the advantages of big rooms and high windows, but it's been done up to a high standard. The bed was large and comfortable, there were plenty of sockets in the right places, and everything was spotlessly clean. We noticed there was no lift, but it's only a 2-storey building, so it wasn't a problem for us. There was plenty of storage space in the bathroom cupboards and the bedside drawers, plus a spacious desk/dressing table with tea and coffee facilities. A lovely range of lighting in the room, too. The whole building was beautiful inside, with a pretty sitting room on our floor as well as the main bar/lounge downstairs. The proprietors were really lovely too - friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Included in the price was a generous breakfast with plenty of choices, cooked hot to order, including perfectly poached eggs. For evening meals, the restaurant isn't cheap (although nowhere is now!), but you get what you pay for - the food is great, and the portions very generous. We only sampled one dessert, but all the main meals and starters were really good.

Nothing, our whole stay was great, and we would recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot food and plenty of additional items and drinks. The room was clean and comfortable with well used original features.I particularly liked the way the adjoining spaces had been restored in this building.

The shower room was a little cramped .

Ground floor communal facilities were good ,excellent food

The external appearance was a bit poor and internal decoration of bedroom

Great location. Nice and quiet..The room was very spacious. Very clean. The bed was comfy. Breakfast was lovely with a nice selection of cereal and cooked items..Large car park.

The toilet wasn't fixed to the floor properly and wobbled every time you sat on it.

Staff were really friendly and welcoming.

Beds were a little hard and the beams in the attic bedroom a little low!

    7HelenPosted on: 8-22-2024

The breakfast was ok, nothing special. The room was ok - we knew it was going to be in the attic with a sloping ceiling but we were careful not to bump our heads.

We didn't think much of the sausages. The decor throughout the hotel was "tired".
