Lovely location, friendly staff, clean rooms great food.

We only booked 2 nights wish we had longer

    10JanPosted on: 2-20-2026

Breakfast was excellent. The Slate was beautifully decorated and extremely clean and fresh.

Nice location, friendly pub atmosphere Lovely food

Only minor things but wanted to mention them. Towel rail didn’t work so we had damp towels in the morning. Filled in breakfast form as requested by staff. Booked breakfast for 8am as we had to be somewhere and nobody was downstairs, lights weren’t on, kitchen closed. Staff turned up just before 8.30 so we had to rush which was frustrating

    Clean loads space

Felt staff could be more seen at breakfast time we saw one person who gave us our breakfast then didn’t seem any one

Location, proximity and bus service to town, friendliness.

Restaurant was expensive. Bathroom door kept getting jammed.

    9SamPosted on: 2-6-2026

Very friendly staff. Fantastic meal. Stayed for a family birthday in the house & rooms in The Lodge. Great accommodation for a family get together.

House quite cold & took while to warm up when we arrived.

The property was amazing, everything was super clean and very new facilities. Lovely restaurant, food was amazing. Initially the room we were given was very cold (stayed in January) as the radiator wasn’t working but it was no problem to the staff and they moved us immediately. Wonderful staff, nothing was too much trouble.

Nothing springs to mind. It was dark when we arrived so didn’t get an opportunity to appreciate the surroundings.

    9GarethPosted on: 1-22-2026

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly from moment we arrived, allowing us early access to our rooms. The evening meal was excellent as was breakfast. All very relaxed, just the way we like it.

    Nothing .

    Location.

Noise from downstairs/ bar went on until 1245am…no consideration for hotel residents. I had a very early start so didn’t get much sleep.

Stayed for a night and we loved it. The staff were extremely friendly. The breakfast was worth it. Everything is clean!

    10SuzannePosted on: 1-19-2026

I really like the decor and colour of the Slate hotel, I find it to be a very comfortable place to stay. I like the bar and the time I chose to go was fairly quiet which I like. I chose not to have breakfast to keep the cost down. The staff are lovely and very helpful. I will definitely stay there again.

Good location near to Bangor and A5 + A55. Room very comfortable, great shower, bed comfortable and soft towels. Staff very nice.

Nothing really. Fresh fruit and hotter tea/coffee at breakfast would have enhanced it but cooked breakfast very good.

    10DePosted on: 12-31-2025

Lovely location and staff vey welcoming. Breakfast was good value and choices available . Second stay within 6 week period and would definitely book for longer period in the future

    10JustPosted on: 12-31-2025

The staff were really friendly and helpful, particularly Paul, and the whole place was immaculately clean. Bedroom #1 was toasty warm on arrival on a very cold night and the super king sized bed was extremely comfortable.

    Nothing!

    10LemarPosted on: 12-30-2025

Great location, friendly staff who gave us some good suggestions for local activities, nice bar with darts. Shoutout Chloe, Paul.

    10BeerPosted on: 12-30-2025

The room was compact but comfortable. The staff are friendly and the food was excellent.

I would prefer breakfast to go on a a bit later

    8RogerPosted on: 12-23-2025

The room was excellent and very comfortable, the dinner was ok and breakfast the following morning was also ok.

The food could have been better for the price paid.
