- No reasons for complaint.
- Limited parking on site but nothing the hotel can do about that!

Excellent breakfast - plenty of choices. Didn't use the restaurant in the evening but the menu and prices look good

Clean well looked hotel with friendly helpful staff. Great breakfast and ideally located for Porthmadog and all it has to offer.
Nothing, all good.
Full Welsh cooked breakfast good, but only one slice of bacon.
Service a bit unco-ordinated at times.
It was clean tidy and all the facilities I wanted were available…
There were a lot sound transmission from the rooms next door…
Superb staff and lovely bar area & breakfast
The breakfast and evening meal were both delicious, excellent service and staff were all helpful and friendly. Our room was tucked away and very quiet, with streaming services on the TV, excellent facilities in the room, there was nothing we needed that it didn't have. Really nice stay, would definitely visit again. We particularly liked the private car park at the back of the hotel where we could park our van and leave the bikes, as the doors were locked in the evening we felt secure and it had easy access to our room so was handy for loading and unloading.
There wasn't anything to dislike about the place.
Lovely old fashioned town centre hotel. Clean and well appointed room.covered carpark and good restaurant.
The location is great very central to everything within the area
The rooms are very very small, some of the rooms are not actually photographer and showcased on bookings.comThe room I thought I was booking looked fine for an over night stay but the photos are not actually of the room that was allocated The double bed is on the small side so be prepared to be sleeping on top of your partner The WiFi completely went down so avoid logging into your Netflix or Disney as you can’t log out The room was very tight not much room at allBathroom was average and very standard Slow pressure The room smells damp Felt like we had been give the most random room in the place Wouldn’t book again Breakfast was average The decor is very disjoined throughout The receptionist seemed very disinterested in communication once we said we’d booked dinner else where
Excellent location.Very clean, breakfast very good, lovely staff.Would recommend this hotel
Very clean and comfortable hotel. A very good location, lovely breakfast, did not have an evening meal there.
Hotel was lovely but quiet, Porthmadog was on the quiet side as well,, but it was January.
Everything was good, the breakfast was superb the room was large and comfortable, the bar was fine and hotel location excellent.
Nothing really, Porthmadog was quiet.
Breakfast was good the staff on duty were very pleasant but felt rushed to order and eat so they could clear away Bar was good and well stocked .location was great and ample parking
evening meal was very dry not just ours but other stay expressed the same room was dated cracked wash basin, lights out a lot of light coming from ill fitted door to room had to use pillows to block light as landing areas light over night
I have stayed before and the room, food and service are always great.
The staff were really friendly, polite and helpful with any questions we had. The breakfast was excellent. Being out of season there was plenty of parking.
It was a pleasure to stay at the Royal Sportsman. I have stayed before and always given favourable reviews. I was particularly pleased with the help I had in 2021 when I had a health issue and the reception staff were very helpful. There is a very nice atmosphere and the interior of the hotel is nice. Ditto my room, ditto breakfast. My very solid recommendation if you stay in Porthmadog, this hotel. The best local attraction is Portmeirion of Prisoner fame. Best restaurant, the Glaslyn Tandoori. Great walking around Beddgelert.
Happy with my entire stay
We actually booked a standard room. This room was situated on the ground floor of an annexe next to the private car park. The room had been renovated recently as you could still notice the smell of paint. The standard bed was really small and the room was quite dark with only a small window opening on the corridor. With £25 per night extra, they managed to provide us with a nicer room with a king size bed on the first floor. The staff were very helpful with this. Good choice for breakfast.
A bit expensive in relation to the standard of the room
Centrally located with a car park. Really nicely decorated everywhere. Bar area was nice, food good with the mains being generous portions. Massive selection of drinks at the bar.
Bathroom was a little warm as the towel rail was always on.
