The staff were wonderful and the meals were delicious. We were looking for a comfortable, convenient hotel and we found Mourne Country Hotel a perfect fit.
When we had our food on the table the waiter told the other waiter to clear our table and we were still eating our food the staff was rude to us

Road noise and loud talking/doors banging during the night
The staff were all very friendly, there was plenty of parking and it was very well located for what we wanted and the purpose of our travel. The breakfast, which was included, was very good.
There is unfortunately no atmosphere in the hotel. Although the breakfast was lovely, we were the only two people sat in quite a large room, we tried to have a beer in the bar, again a large room, and there were only 4 others in there, no chatter from bar man and the film "Nobody" playing on the telly - those unfamiliar its quite a violent film. The whole place could do with an update, new carpets/bathrooms/decor and it would be amazing.

Shower didn't work so we had to move to another room after unpacking. Some of the lights didn't work. Restaurant closed early - the staff did say I could order food but directly after arriving.

First impression is everything, and the receptionist was a young girl with a load of cheap jewellery and a dirty workout pants on her who looked like she had just come from a festival.The hotel is not nice very dreary and empty looking. The bar looked like it was not even open as there was a tv on but no sound on it so no atmosphere at all.The bedroom was the worst I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in a lot of hotels. I appreciate it might be just for people passing through and just staying one night like we were but then the price should reflect this. We paid €170 that is what I would expect to pay for a very nice 4 star hotel with a nice bar and a nice bedroom not this travelling salesman hotel that is absolutely miserable!
