MADISON Saint Jean de Luz - Handwritten Collection

The perfect location to see Saint Jean de Luz. Central to everything. The room was small but well decorated quiet, clean and comfortable, a corner room w/ 2 balconies. Staff was very helpful.

The spa was crowded with screaming kids. More of an amusement park than a spa.

Location of the the hotel is in the city. The flat that was booked was located across the street from the hotel in a very good area, nearby shopping areas, restaurants and cafes. The flat was quite spacious and very clean. Each of the bedrooms included a shower. Washing machine is also included. Staff was friendly and helpful. Julian helped fix one of the windows in the room. Cleaning staff was also very friendly. The spa was very nice, with pool, jacuzzi and steam/sauna room. Spa service by Claire was excellent. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Our favorite part of this visit was the friendliness and helpfulness of the entire Madison staff. They clearly explained everything, from spa hours, to breakfast options, and reception hours. It was very nice to have the option to get coffee all day on the balcony! The beds were SO COMFORTABLE! The breakfast buffet was a deal, with many options and delicious coffee! The rooms were spotless and had everything we needed! We could even cast our phone apps to watch english tv! Wifi worked very well. And finally, the location was close to everything! The harbour, the beach, shopping, grocery, and historical buildings. We will be back, and The Madison is where we will stay.

Huge beautiful apartment with hotel services.In the heart of the village.Immense rooms, amazing bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen.2 minutes walk to the pedestrian shopping streets.5 minutes from the beach. Free access to the hotel’s pool, jacuzzi and sauna.

Our room was super clean, designed with style, had a very comfortable bed and we really felt rested after sleeping there. The staff at the reception was doing some jokes too and was helpful at the same time.

In a 2 bedroom with 4 guests we would have appreciated 2 bathrooms, rather than 3 showers and 1 toilet. I suppose difficult to change such things.

we had a big room with an incredible view on the city and the mountain. The decoration was warm and modern Basque. the lighting were adaptable to any condition and very smooth. the bed very comfortable, we had a great stay with friendly and efficient service

Ideally located to explore SJdL.Compact and bijoux room but perfectly adequate for 3 night visit.

Location was very good - very close to the main shopping area and just a 10-15 minute walk to the railway station.The lobby and bar area was comfortable and nicely decorated. The 'mini-breakfast' in the bar area was good value for a quick, simple breakfast of coffee and pastries. The full breakfast was OK - not special but just as good as most other hotels.We didn't eat dinner here, but we did have snacks and drinks in the bar and they were good.We didn't use the spa - but it looked good for a short distraction or relax between events - not really big enough for 'proper' gym session.The room was well decorated, very clean and confortable - a little small perhapsThe staff were excellent and friendly and informative.

The room was a little cramped (for two adults plus luggage) - but not terribly so.I don't think there is any parking if you are travelling by car - so check this out first.

Great location. Very clean comfortable beds. Very helpful and responsive staff spoke English, French and Spanish. Parking very close by for 20 euros a night. Hôtel was very flexible with a late check out which we very much appreciated. Thank you! Looking forward to returning.

Superb location in the heart of St Jean De Luz. Staff was friendly, professional, and helpful-- even with my very suspect French skills. Room was exceptionally clean and while small, it was bright and very well appointed. Large bathroom.

Close to the see and in the middle of the city. The staff was so friendly! Our dogs were very welcome.

The hotel is centrally located and the bedrooms and public areas are furnished to a very high standard. The staff are very helpful

We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist, Nina. The hotel was in an excellent location. The little spa was an added bonus too.

The “welcome” we received from the receptionist with glasses. She was quite surly in her attitude and made a point of saying “it is too early to speak English”. She was sarcastic straight away when we arrived early and acknowledged that it was too early to check when we asked simply to leave our luggage there. We had to leave our luggage in the corner of the breakfast restaurant instead of in a safe storage room. The receptionist was also sarcastic when talking about the poor weather - we mentioned that the weather was similarly poor in San Sebastián (where we had been previously) and she patronisingly said “but that’s not France”. Generally weather systems don’t change just because you have crossed a country’s border in the same region! We found her attitude very unwelcoming and snooty.Also, it would’ve been nice to be advised that the main courses are only available at lunchtime in the bistro. More information about the hotel at check-in would be useful.
