- The building of hotel itself already speaks the unique feature, it was a renovated light house. The surrounded was spectacular, you can see atlantic ocean and feel like it is the end of the world.
- Hotel O Semaforo is perfectly located for enjoying the glorious Cape Finisterre sunsets without having to return same-day to Fisterra. Service was good, and friendly; we were shown to our charming top-floor room before returning to the second floor seating area of the turret cafe to enjoy the 360-degree view and an amazing meal of octopus (the included breakfast was equally amazing; wait for 9 am serving, it’s worth it). Our room, in the peak of the building, was necessarily tiny, but very romantic. The howling winds of the Atlantic, made it even moreso. The bed was small but comfortable and the room and common areas were spotlessly clean and bright.
- The room was beautiful and tastefully decorated with lots of great amenities, the bathtub was so relaxing, and the breakfast was excellent.
Cons -
- I visited during January, where the weather was not ideal..raining on and off all day.
- The water pressure was not very good. It took a long time to fill up the bathtub so that we could use the spa. You need to understand that this hotel is in a very remote location. The only restaurant available to you is in the hotel unless you call a taxi to take you to and from the hotel into town (or walk the 4 mile round trip on a very steep hill}.
- Absolutely No Customer Service...basically a bar that also serves dinner and has several rooms...never saw breakfast which is served at 10:00am...and waited two hours for dinner before I fell asleep waiting and went to bed...so my dinner was a beer, two dinner rolls, dinner salad, served burnt appetizer (sent back), and I never saw the fish entree, vegetables, or desert after waiting two hours!!!

You stay here mostly for the location. The "end of the world" marker for the Camino is right outside the front door. Views from the patio and restaurant were amazing. We had a table with a beautiful view of the sunset over the ocean. The food was good and service also good. I liked that we didn't need to walk or taxi back into town after the sunset. We simply went back to our room. The staff was very helpful in calling for a taxi to take us to the Santiago train station.

Great location...absolutely no customer service...nobody late night or early morning at front desk...the door to the hotel is actually locked during the day...never saw any breakfast...and never received my dinner after waiting two hours!!!

Unique, beautiful and comfortable
Top floor room had no view (windows in the ceiling) but very attractive room nonetheless
Amazing boutique hotel at Land’s End. Welcoming staff. Fantastic rooms. Great private dining room with sunset views!
Just about everything was perfect… beautiful location and awesome views… the entire hotel and our room were immaculate. Food was great and all the staff were very helpful and friendly.
The parking access is not close to the hotel building and one must carry luggage up steep stairs to get it to the entry, elevator, and room. But all in all, a minor inconvenience…
We had a wonderful dinner watching the sunset. Food was first rate. Staff were very friendly and responsive. Location was incredible. We drove to the Piedra Santos. The view was spectacular. My only regret was that we booked if for only one night.
This is the most bizarrely star-rated hotel we’ve ever stayed at. For whatever illogical and unknown reason, when we looked at this hotel to stay here we noticed it had a “2-star” (two) rating at Booking.com.That concerned us because it wasn’t “cheap” (like a 2-star hotel), but due to the incredible history, location and ambience we decided to give it a shot. The 2-star rating is an absolute joke. For example, the staff at this hotel rival that of any 5-star hotel, anywhere in the world. There is nothing the staff couldn’t or wouldn’t do for us and we could do whatever we wanted (ate wherever, whenever, towels, ice, cappuccino’s outside or to the room - as a small example), luggage moved, free to roam inside and out as if the entire lighthouse/hotel was our own.Cristina who checks you in is awesome. She has a warm smile (great laugh / sense of humor) and she is on top of everything. From arranging taxis, to setting you up in your room to making sure your luggage is there (or is taken out). Then, she jumps in with the other girls, if they get overwhelmed to make sure everybody’s overly happy. She really made our time there special.Fermanda we thought had a twin because everywhere we looked she was there bringing food and/or drinks up and down the stairs, outside, to the rooms (wherever they needed to be). She has a remarkably warm smile and never seemed like she was stressed. I would’ve been overwhelmingly stressed doing everything that she was doing (with her smile). We ate lunch here and the octopus, with the view of the ocean, was to die for. Since it was so delicious we decided to have dinner here as well. That turned out to be a 5-star experience as well. Even down to the incredibly “private select” olive oil, everything was fantastic. Probably the best steak we’ve had in Spain.
great restaurant, beautiful location, good staff service, bar is good, great views from the bar areaa nice place to stay on the camino
Beautiful location to stay at the end of the Camino and very special. The hotelier who checked me in was extremely kind and professional.
Several mistakes were made in the morning. I arrived to the cafe at 9 am when it opened and watched the couple next to me being served a beautiful breakfast, was curtly told myself “you can have coffee, but all I have is cake.” I was served a coffee and one small piece of cake. When I asked to pay my room bill I was told “oh sorry, I didn’t realize you were staying here, breakfast was included, I thought you were from outside.” The staff member handed me a small glass of juice I guess to drink in my room, a warm yogurt, and another piece of the same cake wrapped in foil. I can’t eat yogurt. She charged me for the room and my dinner the night before on my credit card. Then walking away, I reviewed my Booking receipt and realized I had already paid for the hotel when I booked it. I returned and informed her of her mistake-she attempted to have me fix it and ran my card again, but it took about 10 more minutes, the help of another staff member, and running the card several more times to issue the refund. No apologies were made, and I absolutely would have been double-charged had I not noticed the error. This hotel was about twice the cost of every hotel I stayed in during my 3 weeks in Spain. For that price, I would expect a higher level of effort and service. It put a sour note in the end of what was otherwise wonderful Camino hike. The staff needs to be better trained, for them to be charging these kinds of prices.
Location awesome! Walk to town just 4km away. Room was beautiful! Gentleman who checked us in was also our waiter—very nice, super accommodating. Restaurant on site was great-as were the sunset views! Loved our celebratory stay here after completing the Camino Frances!
Umm the location
Everything else. Worst hotel experience of my life. But they don't care. I am poor. Their one meager attempt at fixing anything was not a refund, my film back, my clothes, a muffin, an apology, nothing but a XXL stained t shirt so I would not freeze at the hotel after the hotel had ruined my clothes. I sat in my windbreaker and wet shoes shivering while these rich old people got hand delivered complimentary champagne like club VIP service white lotus style
As in real estate, Location, location. That’s why we were here, as it is a special place at km 0.000 on the Camino de Santiago from Finisterre. (We walked here from Porto, Portugal). The Restaurant was good, albeit expensive. Staff friendly and helpful.
Room we had was tiny, with sloping ceiling beams that made standing up without hitting my head impossible in one end of the room. I am only 6’ 0”, not an exceptional height. I could not use the toilet or sink without ducking down to avoid the beams, and hit my head on them twice during the night. The bathroom area was separated from the bedroom by glass only - no privacy, either visual or sound. The seals on the glass panels of the shower were very poor, resulting in flooding of the bathroom floor and part of the bedroom floor when I took my first shower. We learned to use the wand very carefully to minimize the problem after that, but basically that shower design was dysfunctional. There were no windows in the room, just s skylight. With the potential of such a spectacular view this was also a disappointment.Bottom line, one of the most frustrating rooms on a 40-day trip. Perhaps the other rooms were better.
We came to the Lighthouse at the end of the earth after walking the Camino Portuguese. It was lovely to place to celebrate with dinner ,take in the view of the sunset . We woke up early to see the sunrise and had the point to ourselves . A remarkable place to stay..The staff was very accommodating and found taxi service.
Do not miss the opportunity to stay here if you’re coming to Fisterra. The location is absolutely stunning, you’ll be able to spend a sunset and a sunrise at the End of the World! The hotel is clean, quiet, and very comfortable. They have an excellent restaurant on site, dinner was amazing and breakfast was included with my room!
Beautiful location… friendly staff… excellent food… great views!
The location is spectacular! You can see the sunrise and the sunset from here. I loved having the terrace bar with music and the staff was a 10/10!
I thought I would have a view from my room but there wasn't one. There were only skylights. During the day there was construction going on which was quite loud.
The location and view from the hotel were fabulous!
Our “attic” room was extremely small. Three of the four walls sloped in line with the roof so it was necessary to duck to avoid hitting your head on the rafters. The “bathroom” was the smallest we’ve encountered after staying in more than 30 hotels across northern Spain this past month. The door to the bathroom also served as the door to the shower if you can imagine. The shower leaked into the bathroom and the room despite our mitigation efforts. Breakfast was included, but their first breakfast is at 9 AM, later than we could enjoy. The staff did give us a packed breakfast, however. And to top it off, there was no water in the morning as we were leaving. There is no overnight staff so when I called the hotel via the Booking.com contact number, the person said the town had no water therefore the hotel had no water.
