Rethymno Mare & Water Park

Everyone we met was warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxed but lively, and the entertainment program added a lot of fun without being intrusive.

We were impressed by the cleanliness throughout the hotel. Pools, rooms, and dining areas were spotless. Safety measures were clearly in place, which made us feel comfortable letting the kids explore freely.

Whether you are visiting as a couple or with children, the hotel caters to all. The water park and kids’ pool are perfect for families, while quiet areas and beach access are ideal for couples.

Staying at Rethymno Mare felt like stepping into a small paradise. The water park alone is worth visiting, but the hotel also provides beautiful gardens, clean, modern rooms, and several pool areas that suit both families and couples.

We couldn’t believe how much was included for the price. Between the water park, the beach, the evening activities, and the quality food, it felt like we got more than we paid for.

The rooms were spotless, with comfortable beds and modern amenities. We appreciated the daily cleaning and thoughtful touches like fresh fruit on arrival. It really felt like a home away from home.

We were impressed by the quality and variety of the food. Each day offered different dishes, including local specialties. The Greek night was a highlight, with live music and delicious traditional flavors.

What I loved most was how calm the property felt. Even with families around, there was always a spot to unwind. Reading by the pool with a drink was my favorite part of the trip.

The all-inclusive package was worth it. Drinks, snacks, and meals were always available, and everything tasted fresh. It felt truly stress-free not worrying about extra expenses.

There was never a dull moment thanks to the evening shows and music. Our favorite was the Cretan dance night, full of energy and tradition. It added so much joy to our stay.

The hotel’s location is ideal—close to Rethymno but away from the noise. We rented a car and explored the island easily. Coming back each evening to the calm atmosphere was exactly what we needed.

The food was excellent considering for an all-inclusive hotel! From experience with such arrangements we expected less, but the overall quality, variety and availability was excellent! We always found something interesting to eat even for people with special requirements (no pork etc.)The facilities of the hotel with the water park are excellent.

The maintenance of the room during our stay was not always good and should be improved - it's nice to come to a clean room, bath and balcony after having been out all day.A real gym is a bit missing, would a nice addition to make it perfect.

What a stunning hotel, a lot of stars all the way, from the view to the food, the staff, I mean everything is perfect at this place. Best in the area in my opinion. Tremendously speedy and nice staff, amazing rooms, and the most spectacular views we’ve ever seen. Staff also provided great local dining options. All in all it was a great at everything.

we had a room with its own poolwhich was a god send considering the main pool has tiled floor all roundand a number of people slip over onit. We saw 4 within our first 2 hours on day 1. water park for younger kids is great.

To say it was fabbergastingly beautiful beyond imagination would be one hell of an understatement. Suite was amazing and spotless. The view, the food at Hermes restaurant, the overall style and the atmosphere were so good!

We are an easy going family of 4 (2 children aged 4& 6). If you are expecting a 5* hotel then you willbe very disappointed. It is a 3* hotel and I arrived expecting 3* based on the reviews. If you breakdown per person the price of the hotel as an all inclusive package it’s actually good value for money. Ours worked out about £100pp which includes food, snacks (ice cream/pizza/donuts/fruit) alcoholic/soft drinks, shared private pool and accomodation for this price we thought this was actually quite good. So to sum up what we liked 1. Pool (we had a shared private pool to ourselves) 2. Cocktails and Rose wine 3. Towels and sheets changed every couple of days. 4. Views and upstairs pool vibe and atmosphere 5. Spa staff and treatments 6. Fruit and desserts were nice

1. Cleanliness of the rooms (cobwebs, brown stained base of toilet, holes in sheets, lack of ventilation) 2. Location of hotel is about 20/25mins by bus to the town centre and bus times given are inconsistent. 3. Food was hit and miss with nothing labelled and lacked variety. 4. General maintenance of the property and room was poor and tired. Could become quite dangerous. 5. Not easy to get to the beach and the road it crosses isn’t very safe even using the best access available.

The location was great! really nice view. The pool and water park was good and we really enjoyed. The staff were lovely and nice programs every night. The room was comfortable, the air conditioner was great. Beds were comfortable, and wifi was good compared to other hotels I have been into. The bar in the lobby was good and really nice drinks. The food was OK and snacks at the pool bar was also fine! overall, a good place for a family trip and getting away from busy life!

The place is old, but not enough investment in the renovation has been made. The bathroom in the rooms are pretty old and no matter how much they clean it, it doesn’t feel clean. also it lacks ventilation. The restaurant, needs better cleaning for the dishes, especially when it is busy, you can find many half cleaned plates and cutlery. The food, was missing labels, so you had to guess what’s in it. Not many options for kids (just spaghetti every day and rarely some chicken nuggets).

This is not 5* hotel! The food option are very limited, I couldnot believe how little there was.Our bathroom was smelling terribly and the bath was leaking. Kids club is just there but nothibg is going on. Children are left there on its own. Very slippery around the pool, we have seen older lady falling, definitely something should be done.

Loved the Royal part of the hotel. We upgraded to one of their rooms with a private pool and it was amazing. Made the holiday. The reception stafff were extremely kind, friendly and helpful. Really liked them. The waiting staff worked so hard! Never seemed to get a day off and they all worked breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lovely clean rooms every 2nd day which I thought was fair enough as they don’t have to be done daily.

I thought the entertainment could have been better. The same thing was on every day so if you’re not a water polo or volleyball fan you struggle to get involved. Outwith b’fast lunch and dinner there wasn’t much to eat which was disappointing. Just a slice of water melon or a donut and the drinks were a bit uninspiring and nothing branded.
