Pros +
- The hotel is very new and appropriately equipped and furnished. The cleanliness and service around the pool area, beach area and the rooms are very good and to full satisfaction. Excellent direct access to the beach with the provision of loungers. Towels for the loungers are available on the beach. Excellent the tiled floor around the pool area, even when wet, they are not slippery. The pool itself is very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was rich, perhaps a bit excessive. The guest service for breakfast ist very good! <Labrini> was an excellent host for the breakfast recommendations, she should receive a bonus for 2024.Food at the beach bistro is very good and differentiated for every taste.
- Generally a very welcoming environment with excellent staff
- - The hotel facilities are very good - pools, beach, etc. Everything is beautiful and you can see they really take good care of everything.- The food in the buffet restaurant was good, with a lot of options for breakfast and dinner. - Our room (with jacuzzi) was also nice - very clean, nice decoration, and comfortable beds.- The beach is pretty and, on lucky days, the water is super clean and calm.
Cons -
- We observed a number of opportunities for improvement to make things better for future guests:- it would be great, if pool, restaurant, bistro hours could be addressed via signs (they are online, but who carries the mobile all the time)- there is the recommendation to take a shower for entering the pool. However, the nearest shower is near the beach or you must enter the building with a sloped path for taking a shower. It would be great if there is a shower near the pool entrance.- Smoking - is permitted everywhere, every lounger has an ash tray, people not in favor of smoking feel extremely uncomfortable. Actually under the present situation it is a - no go - for our return visit. Amira is an 5 star adult beach resort, where the health and relaxation of the customer should have priority. I would expect at least a separation of no-smoking and smoking areas at the pool and bar bistro area. Booking a non-smoking room does not prevent of smoke entering the room from partnering rooms or balconies. It appears somewhat a chimney effect. If you leave your balcony door open, you receiving a smoke flush during night and day. Proposal: Declare the resort as an adult smoking only resort.- Pool water depth - the pool is nice for some refreshing, but if your desire is in a little more sport style swimming you end up in a depth range from 140-68cm deep water. I don't know the intention of the pool architecture, but it is definitely not for basic sport enthusiasts. Im sure the hotel performs high maintenance effort for pool. The lower rating of the resort is mainly due to the last two chapters.
- The beach, whilst quite sandy, was very stony, to the extent that we went out to buy beach shoes to access the sea.
- Room:1) It was close to the road, so we could hear the noise from it - the door of our room wasn't really soundproof.2) On a few days, there was a strong sewage smell coming from the toilet. The staff fixed it, but I believe this is the sort of thing that shouldn't happen in a 5 star hotel.Food and drinks from the pool bar:3) Honestly, worst cocktails I had in my life. Basically no alcohol in it, and just sugar. The food (sandwiches, snacks) was barely ok...for the price you pay, I was really expecting higher standards.Service:4) Generally, everyone was cordial and a few people in the main restaurant were very very nice! However, one afternoon we were sleeping in our room and the phone rang twice and then when we picked up someone hang up. We called the reception to see what was this about, and they gave a weird excuse that they wanted to check if our stay was going well...this was very weird.5) They have an app, and there's an option there to reach the staff via WhatsApp. We sent a message asking something, and we never had a response.Other:6) The parking lot was a bit far from the hotel, and the way there was quite a dark small street full of garbage. 7) There's not much to do in the surroundings of the hotel - a few small shops and a few okish restaurants. Our objective was to stay mostly in the hotel, so this wasn't really an issue. But I think it's important to flag.

good breakfast
DISAPPOINTED!!! I booked the hotel from booking.com and after you pay and get there they have rules and hotel policy that you dont know before you get there !!! they can they you private property and belonging without any notice at the pool sunbads between 9:00-10:00 if you go to restaurant , room , or gym in my case, so you must stay there !! dont forget you pay in august 438€ per night at 5stars hotel, and in the morning the bar is closed until 10:00 but you can not bring a can of Pepsi in my case because its not from thei bar!!! its total disapoonment Amira never again! 4 star hotel with 5 star price! the food at the beach bar is frozen food and the staff and pool boy Nikos very agressive !!! i made a complain at booking
The resort is gorgeous. Very clean both inside and out. The front desk and guest services staff were very friendly and super helpful. The pool is simply perfect and there is plenty of sun beds for everyone. Plenty of really great restaurants in walking distance.
The breakfast was great for the first 2 days but is always the same thing. It got a little boring but the freshly squeezed orange juice every morning was always welcome.
Clean hotel and facilities
Location is good, the beach is good/ but big rocks in the water- water shoes needed. breakfast can be better quality, more Cretan selections
Professional and very polite staff, nothing is much to ask. I mainly talked with the chef, the ladies serving at the breakfast (can't remember their names), Kostis and Fanis, felt like talking to friends and not to hotel staff! Very bice people!
The hotel features a variety of restaurants, a well-equipped gym, and regularly organized events, including BBQ nights, lobster nights, live music, and DJs to suit all tastes. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and the pool is a good size with massage beds etc This was our first stay, and we are looking to return. The hotel met all our needs and offered a truly relaxing experience. Definitely recommend.
It is generally a problem when guests reserve beds next to the pool early in the morning and then leave them unoccupied for much of the day. This practice can be frustrating for other guests who would like to use these areas. Many hotels address this issue by implementing policies to ensure fair access to poolside amenities, such as setting time limits on unattended towels or reserving loungers. The hotel must take actions regarding this matter.
Everything! It is our favourite hotel!StaffCleanlinessBeautiful poolClean beach
Nothing!
Great place with amazing people. Super clean and welcoming. The staff were super nice and ready to help anytime. Big rooms with a lot of space. One of my best vacations!
Adults only, courteous staff, solid construction of buildings, and reasonably close proximity to off site restaurants.
Buffet needs more variety, food was cool to lukewarm in warming trays, not enough pool chairs, unfairness of reserving pool chairs, double standard of men obligated to wear closed shoes at dinner while women allowed to wear open toe footwear, and only one glass of freshly squeezed orange juice allowed at breakfast.
Very nice place, wonderful food and great views. Staff were amazing and very helpful.
Place was spotless clean, very friendly staff (only one, hmm, not so good experience, very late lunch just before our departure, felt that we were trouble to our weiter - maybe she had a bad day or was busy organizing tables for evening, or she saw we were about to leave and did not bother any more). This left a bit bitter taste for us - but since everything else worked perfectly did not affect my overall rating.
Great staff, very nice room
The food was just okay
Our recent stay at the Amira Luxury Resort & Spa was nothing short of extraordinary. This 5-star haven offers an unparalleled experience that redefines luxury and comfort in every sense. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the genuinely warm and welcoming smiles of the staff. Their dedication to providing top-notch service was evident in every interaction, making us feel truly special and well-cared for. Each member of the team, from the reception to the housekeeping staff, exuded professionalism and kindness, ensuring that our stay was flawless. The cleanliness of the resort is beyond impeccable. Every corner of the property, from the lush gardens to the elegant lobby and pristine rooms, was meticulously maintained. It was evident that the management prioritizes hygiene and cleanliness, which greatly contributed to our peace of mind and overall enjoyment. Our suite was a sanctuary of comfort and elegance, featuring modern amenities and breathtaking views. The room was spotlessly clean, with fresh linens and towels provided daily. The attention to detail in the room’s décor and maintenance was truly commendable, making it a perfect retreat after a day of exploration and relaxation. The culinary experience at Amira Luxury Resort & Spa deserves special mention. The dining options are diverse and cater to all tastes, with each dish prepared to perfection. The chefs clearly have a passion for their craft, as evidenced by the exquisite flavors and presentation of every meal. Breakfasts were a delightful start to our days, offering a vast array of options from freshly baked pastries to exotic fruits and gourmet dishes. The dinner service was equally impressive, with a menu that showcased both local and international cuisines, prepared with the finest ingredients. The resort's spa facilities were a highlight of our stay.
For a start, at the reception had a refreshing lemonade with some fruits, the staff were extremely polite and servicial. After a few moments we were informed that we were upgraded to an Executive Suite Sea Front with Private Pool. The room was absolutely amazing, clean, big, modern, simply beautiful!!!! The staff left a bottle of wine, some seasonal (and delicious) fruits and later also a cake for our anniversary. The food, oh the food, breakfast and dinner just first class, everything fresh, well served, as a first class restaurant. The waiters, bell boy, reception, room cleaners, all so polite and nice. The relaxing environment they all keep is absolutely remarkable and unforgettable. Thank you very much for making our anniversary and our stay something we'll never forget!!!!
Staff were very attentive and professional. The hotel amenities and room were excellent with a luxurious feel. We got a room with sea view and wow was that view breathtaking!
Clean and lovely room. The buffet food is excellent. The staff were really welcoming and friendly, they’re excellent.
We had a very rainy day or two. The hotel could do with investing, or upgrading, some sort of indoor entertainment - more pool tables, arcade, something.
It’s location, the swimming pool, the cleanliness, and all the wonderful staff. We were also upgraded to a fabulous room which we greatly appreciated. The welcome drinks upon arrival were lovely as were the gifts on departure. We also arrived at the resort on Easter Sunday and they had the most wonderful display of ornaments, red painted eggs, chocolate eggs and Easter biscuits.
Our stay was half board and the buffet was extremely generous with lots of choices but there were a few things that could have been improved as follows:1. Far too much salt in a lot of the dishes (both hot and cold). An example was the cabbage one evening which was simply inedible because of the amount of salt in it.2. Although there was a stunning display of desserts each night which looked fabulous, they didn’t always translate to great desserts on the palate. Far too many desserts with far too much gelatine. The chocolate mousse was particularly awful, very grainy, thick and heavy the first few days and then we made a passing comment to one of the waiters and he said he would pass the feedback on. Well, the next night the chocolate mousse’s consistency was perfect, silky smooth and luscious but the balance between the egg whites and the chocolate were completely out of whack, so much so that you could only taste the egg whites. We are also very familiar with Greek sweets like baklava and kataifi, etc. but we were quite disappointed with the ones on offer at the hotel. We are not the world’s biggest drinkers but we do enjoy a glass or two of wine and always choose wines by the glass, so that we can try a variety of wines. The wines by the glass weren’t of great quality and not at all enjoyable. We had some wonderful wines by the glass at some of the other resorts we’ve been staying at in Crete.Water should be free of charge with dinner! You should definitely charge for sparkling water but not for plain water! The price of non-alcoholic cocktails was identical to those with alcohol. That’s simply unacceptable. The gym should have had single paper wipes and sanitizing spray to use on the equipment that was easily accessible. We found a single bottle and an enormous roll of paper on the front desk hiding behind a large sign on our way out of the gym.
Great room great view best pool we have had on any of our stays abroad
