    Pros +

    • The staff was amazing throughout our stay. Absolutely fantastic location. We will definitely go back.
    • Our room was incredible. A super cool domed ceiling in the oval bedroom with a large balcony overlooking the golf of Tunis. The location in Sidi Bou Said is perfect for exploring the town and water front. Food was delicious as well.
    • The view , how the staff treated us and the room was so clean

    Cons -

    • The humidity smell in the bedroom was annoying. We advised the staff about it. Will the owner do something about it ? The meal we had on our first night did not meet our expectation. It was over-priced for the quality (not the quantity).
    • The property is very challenging to access. We had a rental car and it took us several hours to figure out how to navigate past the multiple road blocks and gates. We called the property for help but they just kept sending us the location and telling to come on the road with the cemetery but the cemetery was on the other side of a gate that the attendant would not let us through. After the fourth call to the property, they finally understood our situation and spoke to the gate attendant to get us through. I would definitely arrange for hotel pick up outside the closed area for your stay. While our room was lovely, it was right next to the kitchen so it was loud in the morning when they prepared breakfast.
    • I expected more in term of food service, some extra offers for married couples , the breakfast was too simple there is nothing special in it except the view of the sea.

My recent stay at La Villa Bleue in Sidi Bou Said was a delightful experience that beautifully captured the essence of Sidi BouSaid charm. The hotel’s location is unparalleled, offering panoramic views of the Mediterranean that are nothing short of breathtaking. The room’s traditional decor, with its whitewashed walls and blue accents, immersed me in the local culture, creating an authentic ambiance. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the staff’s attentiveness and professionalism enhanced the overall comfort of my stay.

The room lacked adequate noise insulation and double-glazed windows, making it susceptible to external sounds that occasionally disrupted the tranquility. Additionally, I noticed some rust on the ironwork of the veranda, which slightly detracted from the otherwise pristine environment.

Great room view Best bed ever so comfy

Breakfast ! Terrible - not 5 star at all ! And too loud !! Room close to restaurant

    8RachaelPosted on: 4-15-2025

    Great views. Lovely antique decor

Breakfast could have been more generous. It was rather expensive.

The view is great. Rooms are well equipped. Beds are comfortable.

The location offers a great view, but access by taxi, car, or Bolt is difficult. Most drivers drop passengers off at the souk (marketplace) in Sidi Bou Said, which is very inconvenient if you have luggage. If you book a taxi through the hotel, be cautious, there seems to be only one driver they use, and the prices can be much higher than usual. I was quoted 140 TND for a ride that normally costs 40 TND, with excuses like “it’s a special service” or “it’s nighttime,” “you are tourist”, “30 euro is nothing for you” even though both fares were at the same night tariff and for the same ride without traffic with 20 years old cars. It’s best to use a taxi app, but then you’ll have to walk on uneven cobblestone streets, which make rolling luggage nearly impossible.

    Nice views over the sea

This place is noisy, old and expensive. A street with ongoing traffic circles the place, staff is not friendly. Small breakfast is served on a tray, Mini Minibar was empty. Not 5 Star at all.

It’s a beautiful property… with spectacular views … comfortable beds and pillows

My room faced the street and was incredibly noisy all night with people walking by and having loud conversations. Tunisians are loud everywhere! It’s lacking in attention to little details like placing a napkin under your $12 cocktail or an extra plate for their meager breakfast (for the one hard boiled egg shell and a plate to spread the butter)… I’m spoiled because every other hotel in Tunisia has served grand breakfast buffets and here it was a simple continental breakfast with one cup of coffee.A heated pool would be nice too.

We got an excellent deal with booking.comCleaning lady very friendly, folded all our clothes

Checkin staff was quiet distant compared to other hotels in Tunisia, no welcome drink/fruitBreakfast rather limited maybe because we were there off season in January

Almost everything: the view, the room, almost all the staff

The receptionist made it clear that she had doubt that we can afford the stay at the arrival, wasn't so professional in a similar place.

Breakfast was really nice and the setting is just so beautiful with the fabulous sea view. The villa is extremely charming and we loved our suite with its balcony and sea view. My only regret is that we didn’t have time to stay longer than 2 nights! Also, I didn’t have time to try the spa, as it closes at 5 PM and we were very busy.

We liked everything. The only slightly negative thing we found was that the restaurant, where we dined one evening, was quite a bit more expensive than a comparable one nearby.

Such a beautiful small hotel and very quiet. Excellent service…the breakfast in my room on the terrace was amazing I recommend The hammam and massage as well.
