Struggling to identify anything we didn’t like
The location is excellent and only a short walk to the town square. The ambiance is warm and inviting. The proprietor, Piotr, is an exceptional host. He is gracious, engaging, sensitive to his guests needs, and is caring and generous beyond compare. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Hotel Karczma Cheminska for it’s location, delightful ambiance, and its consummate host. A small bit of advice for first timers planning on taking the train to Chelmno: first take the train to Bydgoszcz Glawna; then at Bydgoszcz Glawna, inside the train station, look on the departure board for departures to Terespol Pomorski; this appears to be a commuter train and is not a destination you will find on the PKP Intercity train website; take the train to Terespol Pomorski; once there catch a taxi for the last several km to Chelmno. We found Rome2Rio.com quite helpful in posting train schedules and frequency.

Nice, really small hotel, Large room and clean. Small town feeling, so might not be anyone in reception, but there is staff available in restaurant/bar that can get sorted. Good, convenient, parking just outside the entrance. Short walk to main square. Nice restaurant in the back. Had a great stay!

What a great four nights stay. We ate in the restaurant two evenings. Very good Polish menu. The staff were brilliant.

Small details but there was no interaction with staff, sauna was switched off, no coffee at the mini bar. Noisy delivery around 4am. Overall I would recommend the place but it feels that it's lacking in finishing touches.
