    • Location, outdoor seating and fire if you want to make one, staff were so very helpful and pleasant, breakfast included in cost …delicious and generous .
    • de Wever Lodge is a wonderful place to enjoy a long weekend in a beautiful national park. The rooms are simple, but very comfortable, especially the bed. We had a little terrace outside of our room, which was lovely even though the weather was changeable and sometimes wet. The staff was amazing! Everyone was welcoming and warm, and they made the visit very special. The food, too, was excellent. We truly enjoyed our casual, but luxurious stay. We can't wait to return.
    • Great location, surrounded by the park & 10 minutes walk from the Otterloo entrance to Hoge Veluwe park which was our destination.Clean room, all necessary facilities were available. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, assisted us with everything we needed. Amazing breakfast, probably the best one we've had in a hotel! Great variety of options and delicious eggs and croissants!

    Cons -

    • The room was so constrained in terms of space, window blinds did not function so could not create outside view.
    • It would be nice to have a comfortable chair or two in the room, although the space may not permit it.
    • Rooms were nice but rather small

We loved the beautiful wooded setting, the proximity to the National Park, the delicious food at the bistro, and the relaxed atmosphere. Bed was very comfortable, and air conditioning and fridge in the cabin was a plus.

Location at the national park is magnificent. Excellent breakfast.

Rooms were nice but rather small

Beautiful location and extremely friendly staff.

In my opinion the rooms are fairly dark.

Lovely property, well taken care of, amenities are a bit slim, no kettle or fridge or drinks for the room. The lobby is shared with the restaurant guests, cozy but busy during certain hours. The board games are a plus for visitors.

Slightly confusing check in process as there isn’t a front desk, you’re basically walking into a restaurant. The restaurant service is very slow if you’re hungry, order ahead or go earlier. This is a pretty place to sit down and enjoy a slow meal. Be wary of the bike rental, they only have large frame sizes, not great for smaller guests or kids. I rented through their website but it’s powered by a 3rd party company and the bike size didn’t work for me. The staff was only able to get me a partial refund (yet to be received).

The location was ideal for our interest in the Kroller-Muller museum.

The staff was hit or miss ranging from mildly pleasant to completely passive or cold. In either instance, no one was attentive nor particularly hospitable. There is no reception area at all for check in, and we were asked to bring our luggage in through the very center of the restaurant while trying not to knock any glasses off the tables of the onlooking diners. The family room we booked was located in a building 500+ meters away from the main lodge and the configuration and ambience felt like we were camping in a dormitory with other disappointed guests. All this would have felt perhaps a little less insulting if the expensive room rate was not so disproportionate to the value.

An outstanding hotel in a forest setting right by the Hoge Veluwe National Park, with a fantastic restaurant. Highly recommended!

The staff is young and lovely, the decoration and atmosphere are rustic-chic, beautiful and cosy, breakfast is delicious, toiletry products are from a great vegan brand, and location is just fabulous.location is fabulous,

My room was on the ground floor so a little noisy especially in the weekend, but at least after ~9 pm quietness was fully back. As a suggestion - it would be nice to have coffee and tea in the room.

    7JaapPosted on: 4-14-2025

Nicely decorated room with new and comfortable bathroom. Beautiful location in the forest with great terrace looking over de Veluwe landscape. Dinner prices are slightly high compared to the quality of the food. It’s not bad but does not justify the higher price point.

Everything was very well thought through from the lovely room and perfect bathroom to the log fires on chilly mornings in the breakfast spaces to the real candles and plants/flowers on the terraces and tablesGreat place to relax and chill.

The food - chefs surprise- 4 courses was very disappointing. We wonder if he had ran out of product after a monster sunny Sunday lunch. No flavour- meat not heated through - no green or herbs. Lunch the next day was equally disappointing. Breakfast was wonderful though. We lunched and dined in town after that.

Quiet location, very nice staff, excellent food - a proper restaurant

Great place, so cozy inside and best surrounding outside

Everything was really great, from the ambiance, to the food, to the staff. The only small remarks I have; a kettle in the room would have been nice. And our room was above a pantry I think and there was some sound coming through from appliances. But can only recommend!

I liked the surroundings and the cozy atmosphere. The breakfast was great!

I didn’t like the room we stayed all that much. It was rather small and not special.

Great location, very attentive staff, beautiful room, great shower and great atmosphere for late night drinks and breakfast!

We had room on the second floor. In absence of an elevator this is quite a climb for a less mobile person like me. Be advised to address this when booking a room.

It’s a very unique place that feels very special and boutique. The food is really amazing as well as the service: we ate breakfast (included), lunch (soup and salad) and dinner (fish, potatoes and salad), also drinks were amazing (great creative selection of non alcoholic cocktails + kambucha). The staff was very friendly and found us a table in the restaurant for lunch and dinner with almost no waiting time. The location is unique to say at least - you have a great 5km hiking trail across the road and 13 min walking to the entrance to the park with bikes. The place is surrounded by nature - you can hear birds and horses. Everything was clean and cozy. The fire places in the common areas and in the restaurant in addition to the bonfires outside create unique atmosphere. The design, details, nature - everything is there to enjoy and disconnect.

We stayed in the room 2 and it’s very much exposed to everything that is going on in the restaurant area. It’s not a problem from 11 pm to 8 am so we slept well, but during the day you will not be able to sleep/rest if you are even a bit sensitive to noise/music. We will definitely come back but to another room (2nd floor or cabin most probably). As in other reviews - tea was missing in the room or common areas. It would be great to have it available at all times. The restaurant and veranda are dog friendly but the rooms aren’t ? for my family it means that it will be much more difficult to come back as we can’t come with our furry friend.
