Hotel Nicolaus

Literally steps from everything of interest in Old Town Torun. We pre-booked a class in Gingerbread making at the Gingerbread Museum around the corner. It was across the street from the Nicholas Copernicus house museum. Fabulous breakfast with numerous choices. Limited parking along the street on both sides, first come first served.

Shower didn't have much pressure

Superb location! You can walk to river as well as the town square very easily. The owner Michał was very welcoming! Lovely roof top terrace for drinks in the moonlight!

The twin beds were not the best

Superb location. The property is modern and clean. The staff are super helpful. The breakfest in the morning is abundant and delicious!

Super central, you can reach everything. The staff puts an enormous passion behind breakfast service, this was outstanding, great choice, egg on demand, everything fresh.

It was a good location

There was no bins in the room, beds were made out of material and they were not clean with various stains on them. I have booked two of the same room standard and was given one nice room and other one half the standard. I have requested for this to be rectified and it was but both rooms should be the same standard from the beginning. Also, some of the things listed as included with the room were not there.

As a Japanese, I felt the room was cold. "However, the bed was comfortable, and the service of the staff was kind and very polite."

Out of season here for business. A very stylish and well done old building with trendy and stylish modernisation. The room was very small but it was very slick and perfect for what I needed with a lovely balcony I imagine being an incredible place to stay in warmer months. Staff were extremely helpful. It is everything a trendy modernised boutique hotel should be in a perfect location in this fabulous town. I hope to re-visit when the town is in season.

Great breakfast, nice design, helpful staff

Initially the room I was given didn’t have a remote to control the blinds. Also, the card reader didn’t work to open the doors. I then had to move rooms to one which was smaller and not as nice. This was fine, however the heating wasn’t working in that room. In addition to this, beyond 22:00 you have to call reception to get the door opened. These are minor but cumulatively they do subtract from what should have been a fantastic stay.

Clean, modern and everything in good condition.

The faucet. It was hard to actually enable the water and there was no space at all to place items like a bag or perfume in the bathroom. A single shelve on the wall would do the trick.

Good location, couldn’t imagine better

Very low ceiling in the room, poor sound isolation, spa didn’t work (there was no info about it in the Booking.com), parking was occupied by TV filming staff. Door to the toilet with gaps between the door and wall and floor. The light switch in the bathroom was inside only, so it was very difficult to find it during the night.

It is very pretty and in the middle of the center

Staff were nowhere to be found each time we needed to checkin or out, we always had to wait. Lack of power outlets, there were only two, one next to the exit door and the other in one side of the bed, there were usb ports but not everyone has usb nowadays, you can def not plug a computer. The bathroom was very pretty but not possible to hang towels anywhere, water faucet was pretty but unusable, it was very hard to twist if u had cream or soap in your hands you can not turn the water on or off, i imagine an old person will not be able to wash their hands.

Staff was helpful to open breakfast halv an hour earlier for us.

Cleanliness. Found hair near my wash basin in the bathroom.

This is an amazing boutique hotel ideal for relaxation.The room was superb and even included a bath as well as a separate shower. There are options in the hotel for a jacuzzi and the restaurant looked very good.The room included a flat screen tv, coffee/tea and a comfortable bed. Very relaxing.The location was excellent as it was in the old historical town, and was actually just across the road from the Copernicus museum/house.It was a really excellent hotel .... Highly recommended

Perfect

Breakfast was varied and boiled eggs were excellent.

The bathroom taps! So awkward to use with wet hands.

The breakfast was great and the bed and shower were also comfortable.

The price was a bit expensive.

Lovely hotel with a perfect location, in the centre of Toruń’s Old Town. Very helpful staff.

Charming hotel with friendly service, excellent location in the old town, very clean room, excellent exceptionally delicious and plentiful breakfast with a large selection of food options, own pastries, juices. We also had the opportunity to be treated to wine served by the hospitable owner of the hotel.

Location only.

Firstly, we were allocated to the smaller and different room than what we paid for. After complaining we got the room we chose upfront. The room wasn’t clean (spiderwebs on the walls and dirty shower), the air conditioning did not work (while there was super hot outside). The staff was not helpful and kept saying it’s 18 degrees in the room but was not willing to go upstairs to check (we measured ourselves and there was 29 degrees). We hoped this situation would improve after the first night but it didn’t. We were forced to leave earlier as we couldn’t stay in that hot room (traveling with a dog who struggled a lot). When checking out, then the staff offered another room, but this was too late for us. I do not recommend this hotel… it’s not even close to 4 stars, maybe 2 stars! We will not come back.
