AC Hotel Palacio de Santa Ana

Poor condition of the room, wallpaper peeling off, woodworking very wormed damaged condition. Could hear everything in the hallway, door was poorly sealed/insulated

Very good breakfast, very nice and helpful staff

Safe missing in room. Aircon much too loud. Pool very narrow and very noisy when there are a couple of children. Not functioning Turkish bath

Comfortable room, very comfortable beds, good sized bathroom. Generous sized bath and good shower. Food and drinks in bar and restaurant of very good quality with a nicely judged selection available. Cooking of a high standard and breakfast very varied and high quality. Outstanding feature the friendliness and help given by staff. All were prepared to make an extra effort to provide additional advice, difficult to acquire information and show great patience. A special mention for Lucia and her colleagues in the restaurant who were charming, patient and always helpful with guidance on choices.

The building is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and the food is good.

That they don’t have room service on December 25th. We spent December 24th with the family and return to the hotel in the morning. Then, we wanted to eat something and rest, but they didn’t serve food that day. They only had the reservations for Christmas Lunch. We are very disappointed because they did not care and did not even do anything to solve the situation.

The courtyard setup is nice. The swimming pool very nice indeed. All very discreet and quiet which was good. Breakfast very good.

Rooms badly need doing up. Wall paper peeling off the walls, shabby furniture. Dark and Everything felt tired and in need of modernization. Not enough plug sockets. Nowhere to plug in coffee machine without unplugging the light first - just a bit out dated . Nowadays plugs and lighting are basic requirements for comfort. Generally shabby and a bit disappointing but beds were comfortable so that was good.

Easy access from motorway,clean room,comfortable bed,but given room with non functioning aircon.

Not able to access dining room as two weddings were taking place,had to eat in main area,no atmosphere.Also very poor service ,slow and inaccurate ( given wrong starters,coffee for one person only,had to wait at least ten minutes for second cup of coffee,cold when it arrived) I have stayed at hotel on at least five occasions but will stay somewhere else next time.Food choice and quality seems to have deteriorated since last visit in April.Also air conditioning not working in bedroom so spent an uncomfortable night

Clean comfy quiet room. Food was good.

Service and staff attitude was appalling which was a surprise given other reviews. Hotel was full with functions including Communion lunches and the few staff on duty were diverted to this. We waited 50 minutes for two beers in the bar and had to complain twice during that time. At this time we were the only two people requiring drinks in the bar. We booked the restaurant for a meal and ended up sitting in a dingy corridor on a breakfast table because the restaurant had been used for a function. At breakfast, the manager raised his voice to my wife because he thought she''d closed a cupboard and moved a trolley, it was the hotel's cleaner!!!!!!. Staff attitude was appalling and this clearly reflects badly on the hotel's management ...if there is any. I would stay away in May which is apparently their busy function period and at weekends. Worst hotel stay we've had. It's definitely not a five star experience....

Room size is very good and bathroom quite large also. Bedding was excellent and all areas were spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and efficient. Parking is secure with elevators to room floors. Breakfast was superb with selection for all tastes. Dinner choice was a bit “modernist” for our taste but perfectly presented and edible.

The hotel, is very clean and well appointed. Our room was nice with a view of the garden and river, and it had everything we need. The food was excellent and the choice at breakfast was good.The staff were nice and friendly as well as being super efficient.

The hotel is some way out of the city centre , so you will need a taxi or drive your car if you want to visit town.

Beautiful inside patio can get noisy with large convention gatherings. Glass doors on bathrooms (what's that silly fashion in hotels anyway ?).

Excellent hotel for the price! Very kind and good service from the staff, restaurant and other activities open until very late.If you want an escape from the city accesible within less than 20mins from the plaza mayor here is the place to go!

Our experience on this visit to this hotel was in complete contrast to our visit last year - Management change? Cost savings?So it is difficult to say we liked anything but the bedrooms were excellent and the receptionist on arrival was good.

The Kitchen/Restaurant needs to learn to serve. We arrived around 17.00 after a day travelling and decided not to wait for the restaurant top open at 20.00. When using the advertised 'room service' of 24/7, we were told that we needed to wait until 20.30 until the Reception intervened. We ordered 2 Ham/Cheese toasties and a Cheese Platter (the only other item available was a Sausage) but only the Toasties arrived. The receptionist intervened and we then got the cheese platter - which was a straight translation - a plate of cheese with no bread, no crackers etc. Then at breakfast we sat waiting for 15 minutes, so I went and asked the Reception to chase the restaurant staff. I ordered Eggs Benedict with extra Bacon - it arrived, with no bacon and the egg (1) was so underdone it simply filled the plate like a flood when cooked.Then 2 Management people came in. clearly discussing the situation - and still said nothing.On checking out, I expressed my dissatisfaction and added that even the complimentary champagne was not offered this year (they then said it was over near the wall - but we were neither told nor offered).This will be our last visit to this hotel.

A very attractive building,large bedroom,great area in centre of hotel to relax and have a drink before dinner.The dinner in the evening was fantastic,have eaten here on three occasions and the food is always superb.

Great place , good big room and inside pool was awesome to relax bed was good the local restaurant was ok they where nice but it was different kind of food tbh

Beautiful property, friendly staff offering a warm welcome , peace and quiet, excellent food.

We love the historical character (a former abbey) of Palacio Sta Ana plus the facilities and the wealth of space and layout of the rooms and suites. The breakfast choice is plentiful and (in Moorish tradition) 'rich' in calories. and fruits The hotel is well situated, close to the highway Burgos-Portugal but the city center is NOT within walking distance

I have no negative remarks about the Palacio except once. At breakfast we ordered salmon with avocado. It wasoverripe, which partly spoiled the pleasure of breakfast

Nice place to stay. Quiet and comfortable rooms. Taxi ride into town.

The staff were very hard working but there were not enough of them so service both slow and rushed…. not their fault.

The facilities are beautiful, it’s an old monastery that has been turned into a beautiful hotel. The building is absolutely spectacular. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff is fantastic! They gave us so much information about the surrounding towns and places we should visit. Just phenomenal!
