The staff, facilities, meals and the view were all fantastic!

Fantastic hotel! Staff was very nice and welcoming and the room was excellent. Nice size room w a little balcony that oversees a pond with beautiful sunsets. Perfect location to see the northern lights!!

Owners were very accommodating, rooms were spacious, clean and quipped. Breakfast was lovely, different types of cold cut ( goose, whale, horse) Nice views all around, remote, peaceful. Nice to spot an aurora

My husband and I stayed here on our 10th anniversary trip to Iceland in Sept 2025. Hofsstadir - Country Hotel was our first stop on our Ring Road trip. I can't say enough about how wonderful our night was here. Beautiful view from our room, great in room/comfy chairs with a little table for our wine glasses to sit & relax-in in front of our floor to ceiling door wall, comfy bed, and delicious restaurant (also with a gorgeous view). Also - plenty of space in room to accommodate luggage for those of you, like me, who tend to bring more than others! :) Do not skip this place! It's wonderful!

The view is extraordinary! The newer rooms have big windows and to wake up to the view is fantastic. The rooms are comfortable and peaceful. The dinner at the restaurant was really good. Also the breakfast was fresh with many options. Highly recommend.

I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a hotel with a view this good. The room’s picture window and the view from the dining room were just exquisite. Loved the decor, especially the rocks. We felt so relaxed here! Dinner and breakfast were both excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful. This was our last night in the country and it was finally clear enough to see the Northern Lights! I had so much fun watching them with the other guests! Warm, cozy room was nice to come back to. We were sad to leave.

This was a wonderful stop on our trip around the Ring Road! The room was roomy and very comfortable- two nice chairs looking out the full windows over the terrain. Breakfast was great, and dinner was terrific. Very nice staff!

This was our favorite hotel on our trip to Iceland. Views from room were fantastic, room was new and clean, staff responsive and accommodating over email and breakfast was outstanding (I did try the horse).

A bit more expanded dinner menu for picky eaters.

Check in was easy. Room was nice, bed comfortable. The view was outstanding. Dinner was divine. Breakfast was excellent. Friendly, helpful staff.

Water from shower not well contained, needed extra bath mat to accommodate the excess water.

Cute cabins with a wonderful view. This hotel is in a remote location, which we loved. Horses were grazing all around.

The only negative would be the showers with only a curtain. This allows water to end up all over the bathroom floor.

Gorgeous views, excellent staff. Rooms were spacious and charming. Not much around, but well located as a stop for the long drive. Excellent breakfast with homemade jams

This hotel was very nice and comfortable with spacious rooms. The shower had great water pressure. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the hotel staff very friendly.

We booked at the last minute after checking out of another hotel early and were so happy we found this place! The room was spacious and overlooked the beautiful land around. The bed was super comfortable, and everything was very clean. We appreciated the on-site restaurant for dinner and breakfast the following morning. Would definitely recommend you stay here on your trip around the Ring Road!

I recommend the hotel invest in a higher quality coffee machine so they could offer things like lattes and cappuccinos rather than just drip coffee at breakfast.
