    • Beautiful. Staff was amazing loved the cats
    • Food was good. staff very friendly and helpful.
    • A small pet friendly hotel in a old converted building with an excellent cellar restaurant. The staff were super friendly and the food was exceptional. Located in a small hilltop village with fantastic views.

    Cons -

    • It was a little creepy because we were the only ones there
    • Very small bed. Walls are paper thin so the two men staying in the room next to us who woke us up at 2am was not appreciated. For that reason I'd never stay here again.
    • The rooms are comfortable but all very close together and not very well sound proofed.

Amazing little hotel on mountain top with an Incredible view . So close to Madrid . Room was plenty big enough for us and our dog . Very clean and modern . What was the most amazing was the evening meal in their incredible restaurant . Lovely food and such good value for money .

What would of made this extra special would be a kettle as we weren’t having breakfast and really needed a coffee .

A cosy, comfortable stay for one night, friendly staff, and a wonderful, tranquil restaurant downstairs with good food.

Beautiful and quiet area near cathedral, cosy room, cool view from a restaurant terrace and fantastic looking bar

Unbelievable views, exceptional room, very comfortable bed, modern decor and bathroom.

Nice little gem in restored rural premises off the beaten track yet easily accessible. Very friendly staff.

Sanitary installations need a bit of refurbishment. Breakfast way too late.

Excellent & good value dinner in the restaurant (we had prebooked , not sure they do walk-ins)Lovely drinks and breakfast on the terraceGorgeous quirky old building beautifully restored (from what?)Tricky to find in the old town at the top of the mountain - but worth the effortParking was nearby , down below, and fine

Lovely location with far reaching views from the terrace.Restaurant inside was lovely. Dinner was OK.

Beautiful building and lovely rooms. Gorgeous food and restaurant.

No full time reception as only small place but no ability to get a drink or snack until the restaurant opened. Difficult access very small roads but good car parking.

The lady of the house was very helpful and opened up the restaurant for us and prepared an excellent dinner! - really lovely and great value. Small room but cozy. Ok bathroom and comfortable bed. Breakfast was again served in the beautiful, underground restaurant ?I would visit again.

The property is on top of the hill in an old town with very narrow streets and some places very steep. If your car is large, it can be a problem. Parking is below the house in an open parking area, so drop your suitcases at the hotel door before going down. The property/room is in need of a tender loving hand....looks a bit tired but probably because the season is just starting.

We were welcomed warmly and accommodated well in our room as well as in the beautiful restaurant. This is an extremely charming place and a great find for upcoming travel to Madrid's airport.

The location was challenging to find. I would suggest locating it in the daylight.

The hilltop location and view are lovely but the town is a little lacking in facilities and charm

It smelled very much of the kitchen, from the restaurant downstairs, in the whole hotel and the other guests were very clearly audible through the walls, which made it a little hard to sleep. Also the amount of stray cats was a little off-putting as they were constantly entering the (overpriced) restaurant.

El Pontifical is full of character, a centuries old building renovated into a large multi level restaurant with rooms above. It was quiet, at the top of the town with great, indirect, views across the plain below. Beatrice was a kind and attentive host, cooking us a delicious dinner on our arrival.

Some maintenance of the accommodation facilities would be worth investing in.

It was a beautifully restored historic building with an amazing restaurant downstairs. Our bedroom was just as you see it in the picture

Unique property very well renovated . All lovely and clean, good food.

Access roads for some people will be a little challenging especially in a large car!

Superbly renovated small family run hotel in charming village with panoramic views all round.

Quite difficult to negotiate tiny roads through the village, up to the summit, but certainly worth persevering for a rewarding stay.

    6AnnPosted on: 9-16-2023

The restaurant was lovely and the lunch menu excellent. However, there was a fiesta in the village when we arrived and the restaurant was closed in the evening, and for breakfast the following morning.

It was very difficult to find the hotel, partly because there was so much activity in the village due to the fiesta. The rooms were very dark, and rather small.
