    Pros +

    • Located right by the park with awesome waterfalls. Breakfast was fantastic. One of their staff was extremely helpful and very courteous.
    • Unique experience, surrounded by beautiful nature. Large property, somewhat formal. Good access to the monastery and the park for hotel guests. Atmospheric and quiet.
    • Great stay near the park. Fantastic location, beautiful historic building. Good diner, good breakfast.

    Cons -

    • The view from our room was not quite appealing
    • Pools close a little early, and open a little late.
    • The room we stayed in was a bit small, only offered twin beds, and smelled a bit musty upon arrival (ameliorated by opening the door to our large balcony looking out on the pool). Dining at breakfast was pretty basic.

We enjoyed our stay at the Monasterio de Piedra, for the historical aspects and unique opportunity to spend the night at such a place of cultural patrimony. It was nice to be lodging so close to the natural park, and the spa circuit was nice. The bar El Granjero offered snacks and drinks at reasonable prices.

The location and surroundings were so very beautiful - outstandingly different and so peaceful, clean and comfortable The outdoor pool was perfect!

We booked the eat dinner at the hotel’s main restaurant- a set 3 course menu. This was possibly the worst dining experience we have ever had. The staff were rude and unhelpful. The food quality shockingly bad. We would return as it’s beautiful but we would not dine at hotel, we would get to the nearby town where there are other restaurants.

Thank you we enjoyed the quietness and lovely nature all around the Monestario De Piedra!

The location is perfect: a big hotel in an old building - a very atmospheric. room with a pretty balcony.

    The faucet sprays water around

    Quirky, history, location.

The website suggest high end but it’s not quite that

    8FredPosted on: 9-6-2024

Easily worth the stay to see the nature park which is amazing.

The restaurant is just good, not great for the price. Water from the tap was muddy after a night of thunderstorms.

Lovely old building. Loved the park next to the hotel.

Air Conditioning not working. Bedroom and bathroom a bit cramped

The location in the old monastery is really impressive with huge austere corridors, an extraordinary experience. The restaurant and breakfast in these old halls is very nice. And the walk in the spectacular park is amazing. The Thai massage by professional masseur Iman is another highlight

The spa is a bit old-fashioned with strikt rules and time slots, looks like a remnant of monastery life.

Beautiful place for rest and relaxation, especially the accommodations in the ancient monastery.

None. It would be better if the staff in the restaurant could speak English. But I can fully understand this. Thanks, the boss who helped us to order our dishes.

The setting. Beautiful old world charm. Immediate access to the park which was well worth the trip. Incredible architecture, inside and out.

Virtually no literature available in English language. Free parking was appreciated but a challenge to move bags from the car to the rooms. Too much smoking in and around the hotel complex. Room was very small.

Spa not included, expensive, and limited availability

Spa very expensive (when the hotel was already quite expensive for what it was, I was convinced it would be included, but no!) and very limited availability.

Clean and in a very nice location

Room sound insulation: we could hear people talking outside in the corridor

We love the location. The hotel is beautiful and the park and waterfalls are fantastic. We will be going again.

There were a few things that needed fixing and painting in the rooms, but it didn't affect our stay.

The place is exceptional. A medieval monastery with a park that is wonderful, big enough for an over-two-hours walk with plenty of waterfalls. The monastery has losts of iteresting places to visit and there is a lot of room for cooling down, enyoying a drink or a conversation on classical furniture.

It is a place to isolate. Do not expect ammenities or too much comfort. For instance there are very few elevators, you may have a long walk with your suitcase from the car to your room. The rooms have beautiful views, are somewhat austere, but still with nice bathrooms, fridge, safe, aircon, etc.

    8TeresaPosted on: 11-13-2023

The free tour to the monastery the guide the environment of the hotel as they preserved very well the austerity of the the Monkhouse

The staff was not very friendly particularly on the restaurant but we also saw that most of the servants at dinner were the same at breakfast and that means people where working longer hours that said the level of amiability was not high and the process is more important then the customer
