    Pros +

    • We were given an ¿upgraded¿ room. (We paid EU173 for two twin beds, no breakfast) The room was clean, had a nice view and the hotel is in a good location. The staff was not overly friendly but was professional.
    • Small town clean friendly petrol station right next door
    • Friendly staff, nice restaurant, good location for most of the sights in the area. Very comfortable beds. Unfortunately, they don't have enough rooms with a true seating area so we settled for a triple room that at least gave us a third bed for spreading out our travel gear.

    Cons -

    • The shower stall is very small and the shower curtain kept blowing in during a shower, sticking to the body.
    • There is an odd floor level change down from the bedroom into the bathroom that is about 3cm high -- a perfect tripping hazard. Even once aware of it, we stumbled over it several times. The shower is tiny with a curtain on one side that wraps around you as you try to wash. These are not service issues, they are design issues.
    • One point off for the shower. It is tiny, with a wand that you could not adjust above chest height, a rain shower fixture, and a tiny, tiny stall with a curtain. If you don’t want to get your hair wet, you either huddle in the corner, use the wand and try not to spray the whole bathroom (admittedly a USA newbie with these) or get close to the curtain which then plasters against your wet skin. Boo to whoever designed this shower!

New property with very nice rooms, happy hour and breakfast. Excellent location too.

Great location, superb staff. The front desk hostess went out of her way to help us with dinner reservations, advice on goi g to see the puffins, and even found a space heater for us to use when our radiator didn’t work. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent.

Room was a typical hotel chain room. Nothing fancy but it was clean.

Shower was TINY and they need to get a better shower curtain. It would wrap itself around you while you were trying to shower. Even the staff at the front desk said it was an issue. Tried to get a 2nd floor room as our room was right in front of the parking lot. We were told there was no availability but when looking on line late into the evening there were still rooms to let.

It was a nice hotel with large rooms/bathrooms and centrally located for walking around the small town. Restaurant close by had very good food. Desk staff very friendly and knowledgeable. We didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment on the food. Gas station next door has groceries and an actual proper restaurant!

    9SimonPosted on: 9-25-2024

The staff were outstanding, particularly Anne who was like a whirlwind in the dining room and bar and superbly efficient.

A slightly wider menu choice at dinner would have been nice.

The breakfast was very good and had nice options.

The toilet in our room was not secured well to the wall and I was concerned how much it moved when sat on. I didn’t like that there was no hand soap so you had to wash your hands with overly fragrant body wash or shampoo. The dinner was very expensive and not very good for the price (other Foss hotels had gourmet quality meals at better prices).

Great location , amazing water views , great good in the restaurant

The room was really clean and the shower was roomy. Bed was so comfortable. Had a fridge which is a nice bonus on a road trip with perishable items. The breakfast buffet in the morning was great....it had all the things. The staff at the front desk were sincerely friendly and helpful.

I made a reservation at the restaurant for Aug 28 but was told on arrival it was closed. I thought it would be courteous to let me know since there was only one other restaurant open in town that day. (On the other hand, we discovered Stúkuhúsið cafe, which is much more than a cafe and full of charming old character....had the best oven-baked pistachio crusted cod dinner with a nice glass of white wine there.)

    10LESLIEPosted on: 8-29-2024

The room was welcoming and large and very quiet. The beds were very comfortable. We ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. The breakfast buffet had ample choices and were delicious. The dinner was exceptional. Both meals were very affordable.

    Everything was very pleasing.

Very clean, modern, great location. Staff at the reception is very professional and welcoming. View from the room was beautiful.

Absolutely nothing, stay here if you are planning to stay in Patreksfjordur.

    2JuliaPosted on: 7-18-2024

Nothing, only location probably as the hotel is standing right in front of the fjord

this is the worst fosshotel among all fosshotels in Iceland. The room was really old, tired and not good cleaned. the furniture was battered, scratched and kind of sticky to the touch. The hotel is located in not very touristic area with long kinda difficult road so for the money they are charging for the hotel at least they could clean the rooms better and to renovate it a bit. This was a very big disappointing.

    5RichardPosted on: 7-8-2024

    Clean, fairly modern

The service at the restaurant was appalling. The waitress started to serve desserts to one person at the table while the others were still eating the main course. Dessert menus were only presented after request. The waitress was arrogant.

    9KerstinPosted on: 7-1-2024

Great location to explore the southern part of the Westfjords. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room had a great view of a waterfall. The breakfast buffet offered a good selection for a great start to the day. Had dinner twice at the hotel restaurant, as there aren’t too many other options around. Food was super delicious.

The shower curtain clings to you while taking a shower. Not very pleasant.

    8MarcoPosted on: 6-22-2024

It was clean and modern with a decent bar and friendly staff

The linen on my bed was overused and rough to the touch.. I am certain staff would have swapped it out if i asked.

Location and view of the room

Restaurant food was poor quality and portioon size for the cost.

    3TatjanaPosted on: 6-17-2024

The price for the rooms in the hotel is over over over rated compare to what you get. Old and cheapest blankets probably you can get and not even covered completely with duvet cover. The tiny 90 sm bad in the very small room for very big money. It used to be a good hotel, but not any longer. Very disapointed.

    8NancyPosted on: 10-24-2023

Very helpful gentleman at the check-in desk. Complimentary coffee at breakfast was delicious.

The two of us wanted to get dinner at the restaurant but we were turned away because a group was arriving shortly and the kitchen staff couldn't handle 2 more people. Later we found out the group was 11 people. That was an odd experience.
