Perfect and beautiful location.. Helpful staff.

Not the best season (Foggy mornings).Missing electric sockets in the rooms.

Location is remote yet BEAUTIFUL! The views were so lovely. Staff were friendly, and it was very convenient to have a restaurant on location, with the option to eat inside or out. We had a balcony view, which was nice to sit outside as well. Decent-sized room, bed, and bathroom. The property is decently maintained for the location. Would give a solid 6/7. The breakfast buffet gave lots of options.

The food was very bland. One night, we ordered the Bacalhau for two, and it was awful - tough and barely warm. We let our server know, and they heated it, but it was definitely one of the worst meals I've ever eaten. We were told it was a full hotel, and it seemed to have limited staff for dinner; the earliest dinner reservations were at 8:45 pm on our first night. Getting to the location can be stress-inducing as it involves many switchbacks and small roads, and no railings. The terrible dinner food was one of the main reasons we cut our trip short. We checked out a day early, even though we had already paid.

Beautiful location on River; breakfast was very good; the staff were very friendly and the two ladies on the Reception Desk extremely helpful.

Hotel a little isolated.

Staff was friendly although young and understaffed. Great river view and terrace by the lake.

For dinner you probably find better places in the village.No private hotel parking.

The buffet breakfast was the best I have ever had...and I like a good breakfast. The staff was very cordial and accommodating. The location is a 10+ and the beauty surrounding the location of the hotel is definite plus and the stay was very peaceful.

Everything was great!

Sublime views from the room and the terrace/dock of Douro River. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The rooms were beautifully designed. Breakfast had many choices and was generous. We also had dinner at the hotel: great prices for a delicious meal. The views of the river were absolutely stunning! We already plan to return. Best stay during our Portugal trip.

It was quaint with a lovely view of the river from the room and dining room.

It is a personal taste issue but we thought that the bedroom furniture was outdated and we did not like the brown/ yellow tiles in the bathroom

Staff, food and location very nice?

Superb location right on the river. Very peaceful and stunning scenery. Staff friendly and helpful and food and drink really good. Our room was spacious with amazing views.

Nice breakfast, beautiful hotel with an excellent pool oriented to the river.The pool area has a cafeteria with everything you need fue your stay.There is an extraordinary restaurant too, where we had dinner both nights we stayed in the hotel.Modern facilities and a very quiet place, ideal for resting.

Maybe the pool was somehow frozen.Rooms could be a little renovated to be as modern as the hotel facilities.I will come back because it is a very good hotel.

No waiter could advise us on wines.

Right on the river - obvious from the photos really! And a great riverside patio from which to enjoy breakfast and dinner. The dinner choices were somewhat limited, but the food was very good. Wines are reasonably priced.A nice little pool too. Local options for some water sport.

OK, so the drive to and from the property is either challenging or fun/rewarding, depending entirely on whether you enjoy winding, up-and-down roads. Either way, the scenery is always very special.

We enjoyed the views and the dinner at the onsite restaurant.

The rooms are a bit dated.
