Was so surprised with such a good decoration and service, never expected can happen in Europe.

Timing for spa could be more flexible.

Staff is superior. Grounds beautifully maintained. Location great. Walking the village of Arcos de Valdevez especially by the river is a great experience.

Rooms relatively small

Beautiful hotel but it was ruined by the amount of noise. Families with children playing the piano in the corridor late at night, the pool and sauna was full of children and then at midnight there was music playing through the corridor speakers. Unfortunately it wasn’t the relaxing break we were hoping for but it is Easter holidays to be fair.

Steam room didn't seem to be working; didn't ask why but probably needed a request to turn it on in advance.

The indoor pool

The sauna was out of order, the toilet in the room would not flush properly, the tv volume was set too low and could not be adjusted, there was only one restaurant with a set menu and set hours (19:30 to 22:30, too little for 5 stars), none of the staff spoke English at a good level (again, not enough for 5 stars), although they were all (mostly) cordial. When we arrived the hotel gate was closed. We rang and got voice mail! We had to return 15 minutes later for someone to open the gate and let us in.

We did like much the facilities, staff and location.

The dinning room too small and breakfast service has some room to improve.

Very recently refurbished, in a excellent state. Very comfortable and pleasant. Good restaurant with tasty options. All the staff very kind and helpful. Pool, sauna, parking, everything very convenient.

Beautiful and extremely comfortable Solar hotel. Very comfortable rooms, great breakfast, very friendly staff. Very nice spa with an internal and external swimming pools. Right by a beautiful river and 5 mins walk to Arcos de Valdevez. Highly recommend

Great location for us, friendly and helpful staff. The complimentary welcome drink was lovely. Had a morning swim in the heated pool. The breakfast was amazing. Had a huge selection of food.

The pool being heated!

Barely any staff around, so if you want food or drinks, you have to go and search for them. Surprisingly, one staff member at this five-star hotel did not speak English. Additionally, access to the outdoor pool was restricted.During our stay, the hotel organized a Saint John's party, resulting in the closure of both the restaurant and bar. Since we opted not to attend the party, we had to find alternative dining options in town. The party, located near the pool, led to the early closure of the outdoor pool at 5 pm and continued with loud music until 11 pm, making it challenging for us to put our son to sleep. We felt this was inconsiderate given that we paid the full hotel rate but were unable to enjoy the facilities as expected.

We liked everything. The hotel was beautiful, the staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The breakfast was delicious and of very good quality. We are looking forward to going back to the hotel.

The only negative thing was an odor of mold/humidity in the wooden wardrobe in the room.
