Pros +
- Excellent family hotel if you’re looking for a quiet place to stay. Very clean, good spacious rooms and good facilities in the room if you wish to prep food and snacks. Staff were all very friendly and helpful although when I asked to use a clothes dryer I was told No, not for guest use. It would have been better to dry clothes in the room on a rack then have them cast over the chairs looking messy.
- Location was fine but a bit difficult to find, even with Sat Nav. Boutique hotel with excellent quality throughout Very polite and helpful reception and free upgrade. Lovely pool and excellent breakfast. Good price. Will try to return for longer.
- breakfast was good, nice pool, sun loungers
Cons -
- The location is quiet and out of the way, something nice if you’re looking for a quieter place. That also means it’s tricky to find. Saint Marie de Re is a 20 min walk to restaurants, there is nothing close by at all. Paying for parking in a 4 star hotel that is already expensive is weird too.
- Parking a little difficult
- Price of the breakfast 18 euros for a continetal breakfast very expensive, although very nicely laid out and good selection. We were lead to believe that the car parking was 6 euros and in fact it was 15 per night !!We had to pay a 200 euro deposit for the room , Iv never paid that before even in a top hotel in London!!I don't expect to pay a deposit that is more than the cost of the room. not for one night anyway.

The location, the quality of the breakfast, the facilities, the view, the quiet and the possibility to rent a bike directly at the property
Nothing to complain about Just know that the bus stop (paradis) is 20 min away - so with big luggage it is to consider
We booked a duplex room for a family of 4 and it was a good size, very nice, very clean, everything you want for a family. The pool is large enough and well maintained. Overall the hotel leaves a well maintained, clean impression. It is located on the quiet side of a quiet town next to a vineyard.
You have to pay extra for trivial things, like parking and (if you're not staying in a duplex) plates and kitchen utensils. Especially the €40 per day for a parking space for charging (Tesla charger) seemed extortionate. You can just park on the street in front of the hotel and charge your car in lots of places on the island. The hotel doesn't really have a restaurant, but they offer breakfast and something from a deli for supper. We just ate out.
Great launch pad for the island but also quick to enter and exit when on a short stay. V friendly staff, low key, simple but all you could need, all amenities, pedal bikes to hire on site and lovely and quiet. Breakfast was spot on - variety and lovely open room. €15 to park in gated area but some places outside.
Really nothing to dislike. We cycled easily to La Flotte in the evenings but a wee way if you’re not fit. Shelf on headboard is a design fault but hardly a “thing”. Some normal tea bags and some UHT milk would have been much appreciated in the room pack but again, really minor.
The premises are beautiful. So well maintained and clean. Tasty breakfast. Happy staff. Tip top.
The loft room was very hot on the mezzanine level.
Nice rooms, perfect location and very friendly team!
Peaceful, relaxing, clean, spacious suite 7, good pool
I suppose if anything, there’s not a lot going on nearby, but that’s not really the point of this place.
Overall location, easy to go everywhere with few minutes by car.Welcome.service
The price for the electric vehicle charged. It was mentioned in a survey as 32 euro per night, whereas i was charged 40euro.Swimming pool is relatively small.Plenty of bycicle to take but was told "lets see how many we get back in return tomorrow".The fact that you need to pay for hammam, sauna etc. It should be free.
Nice location and friendly staff.
That there was no air conditioning
Sweet boutique hotel. Really lovely staff. Nice and quiet too.
I liked the staff, breakfast, spacious suite, the environmental focus of the hotel, the hot tub, the facility to hire bikes, tranquil location.it’s close to a beach (but not the sandy beaches)
Part of the charm is its quietness but it may be impactful. If you arrive by public transport, as we did, it’s a 20 min walk to the bus stop to get to and from La Rochelle. It’s on the outskirts of the village, 10 mins walk to the bakery/ cafe / restaurant. So hire a bike!
The rooms were nice and spacious
No air conditioning No restaurant or proper barMost expensive hotel of our trip
Very relaxed and quiet. Staff very helpful and charming. Clean, spacious bedrooms. Super pool area.
Limited bar drinks and food available. Taxis impossible to get (an island issue) and limited places to eat within walking distance.
fantastic staff who were very accommodating with late meals, drinks and sorting taxis. The facilities and pool are lovely, and the rooms are super clean.
the fan provided was really noisy and the room was very hot! But a minor point.
Good location, very quiet & eco friendly
Limited options for dinner
Friendly relaxed and simple.
30 euros a day to park a hybrid car and get a25 mile charge. Breakfast was expensive for what it was. Coffee and tea were charged as extras in the room.
The rooms were large. We had a room looking over the vineyards with a nice terrace. Breakfast was excellent.
We first got a “garden” view room. This room has a bicycle parking view! We complained and quickly got the other great room. Don’t offer these rooms as garden view for these prices.
It is a beautiful secluded peaceful hotel
The decision to charge for an average jacuzzi that historically was included in the price
