    • The staff were really great. I arrived with my dogs and they provided dog bowls and covers for the beds. They were charming and helpful.
    • Rooms were quit. We had a little patio and east looking view which was shaded in the afternoon and on the leeward side of the facility. This was very handy while it poured rain. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was spectacular. Breakfasts were great. The island is charming.
    • The setting is idyllic. A wellness resort sandwiched between the beach and vineyards. What could be better for your soul. The esthetic of the hotel wellness exudes with its mega spa and facilities all in white. Guests all walking around in their white robes. Truly a gem. And the surrounding islands and charming villages offered amazing seafood.

    Cons -

    • The dinner was very disappointing and very expensive.
    • The room was one narrow hallway from the door to the patio making it difficult for two people to stay out of each others’ way. The shower floor was dangerously slippery. There was a three day lead time on some of the spa services, so if you didn’t make a reservation before you got there …. Well, we were only there for three days so, tough luck. Dinner was overpriced and the selection limited.
    • Unbeknownst to us the resort was fully booked when we arrived, which translated into no ability to make dinner reservations or spa appointments during our stay. If the resort was in the middle of a city there would have been no problem as we could easily go elsewhere; but, when you cannot eat dinner or get a massage at an isolated resort they become problematic especially when you are booked for several days. Clearly the French all knew to book their reservations in advance but for foreigners, like us, it was frustrating. The maitre d' at the restauarnt actually told us they didnt have enough food for 2 extra people. The General Manager apologized afterwards and tried to find spa appointment but it was already too late and we were relegated to snacks at the bar and no wellness. Also the pool was fully packed with children. Not really relaxing. Would we go back? Yes, but at a quieter moment and with reservations.

•The staff were all very friendly and attentive.•The food in the restaurant and in the breakfast room was delicious.

Poor communication and lack of information•From the start the main entrance door gave us problems. It was unclear how to open it (push, pull, push buzzer? – no guidance)•The information leaflet given us by reception on check-in was vague and inadequate; worse still, it was in places just wrong e.g. the wifi instructions were out of date. When we rang reception it was clear that other guests had had the same problem. Why not correct the leaflet or put a notice in the room with the correct details? Note that the hotel's reply below misses the point.•When we asked at reception for a map the best the staff could provide was a photocopied cycling route map reduced to 25% of the original size, so illegible. As the maps are free, supported by advertising, why not supply the originals? Hotel claims below the maps are original. This is a lie.•No stand in the lobby with information about the Ile de Ré.•The floorplans of the hotel with evacuation instructions were tiny and so illegible.•The hotel, whose layout is complex, is poorly signed.•No clocks anywhere apart from one in the swimming pool.Rooms and other facilities•The rooms have no pictures or any other decoration and are thus rather Spartan and unwelcoming.•Coffee and tea making facilities were provided but no milk, so you have to take your coffee/tea without.•Not enough hooks in the bathroom for the bathrobes, towels and swimming costumes the guests are likely to have at a spa hotel.•The radiator in our bathroom wasn't working when we arrived and had to be replaced. It was replaced with a new radiator and an incomprehensible instruction manual so we had to ring reception again to get someone to come and set it up properly.•The breakfast room provided no fruit teas.•The thalasso centre is poorly signed, the sauna isn't nearly hot enough – only 58°C, and worst of all the staff start to turn off all the equipment at 18.

Very comfortable bedsScrupulously cleanGreat location on the beach - part stony part rock pools little bit of sandFridge in the roomWater providedNice view over vineyards Free peage / tills to go back to La Rochelle 8€ to cross from La Rochelle to the island Dressing gowns and towels provided for the spa area

Pool closed before 7pmVery expensive for food - €25 per person for breakfast€25 per person bar snack fish and chips We expect to pay more on holiday - but breakfast for 2 people €50! Staff were cooly polite and helpful, they spoke English well, we felt this hotel catered for the French population primarily rather than overseas visitors. A lot of the really beautiful beaches are at the other side of the island - next time we would stay at the other side of the island. Very narrow roads to access the hotel

Ocean and bike/walking trails were great…

A drive to get to alternative places to eat, property itself was a bit austere, views were not that interesting. Would be nice to have an alternative to a full breakfast.

Very friendly staff that accommodated us even though we were an early show, they were also extra attentive to our dog which made the experience even better. Facilities were great, a nice roomy room with balcony and free use of the spa was the cherry on top!

    Can't think of anything :)

A good breakfast in a great location.

Service in the restaurant was great until one waiter forgot our dessert resulting in a 40 minute delay.

Location is great.Outside spaces are very nice.

Some staff are rude, lady at the spa was more interested in looking at her mobile phone than giving us helpful information about the spa. I asked for a comfortable seat to be placed in the room so we could have a glass of wine and look at the view. As it’s a room for two we would expect 2Seats.We were presented with a dining chair which is not except able.I asked for a corkscrew to be delivered to the room.I was told to walk to the restaurant.I walked to the restaurant , to be greeted with displeasure on asking for my wine toBe opened. The room was tired with old furniture . A rusty radiator in the small bathroom.Overall a dissipointing experience.

Great views and very relaxing vibes. The spa was a welcomed retreat. The staff was very accommodating and the rooms are really clean.

A little isolated from local eateries.

Remote location with the facility to let your dog walk around in its vast grounds. The food for dinner was delicious! The staff are excellent. Nothing is a problem to them. Our room was fabulous, spotlessly clean.

No parasols around the pool. Much needed as there is no shade. Milk from the coffee machine was disgusting as they use powdered milk.

Location, friendly staff, the spa, breakfast

    Sauna too small

    9ReinoutPosted on: 8-10-2024

I really enjoyed the location and the rooms. The spa and the massages were fantastic.

Food at the restaurant was not my taste. I would have preferred more simpler dish.

From check in the staff were so friendly and helpful and the room was very clean and comfortable. The setting was really relaxing, we really enjoyed the spa/ pool area and felt very relaxed throughout our stay. Dinner was also 10/10 and wait staff again were super friendly and accommodating

    Great Spa facilities and large outdoor pool; staff always available and helpful; Rented ebike for half day to go around the island and they were ok for us to bring it back later than the time suggested without making us paying additional for the delay; Restaurant is nice; water fountain with still and sparkling water available for everyone is a plus; Breakfast buffet is also quite large;

The bathroom in the room could have a shower instead of the bath

    8RachelPosted on: 7-27-2024

The location was amazing, so peaceful! We love using the spa and the sea view from our room was great. The staff were so friendly and welcoming.

The room facilities were lacking. It said minibar but was just an empty fridge and there wasn’t much tea/coffee and there was no milk for it.

Unusual check-in time. Arrived early by 2,5 hours and was kept waiting until the check in time at 17:00, only to find out the room was still not ready. Lots of cheap ‘faux’ materials unused in this hotel, ie artificial grass on terraces, wood ceramic flooring, everything very cheaply done. Definitely not a four star hotel.

good restaurant for breakfast and dinner (on the expensive end though); nice spa facilities

pillows were not good for me, but I have to admit that I did not find soft pillows in many hotels.
